  1. At the end of the day you need to run the right turbo at the right boost pressure to get the right result. Here’s an a or b question for you, which engine will last longer A: Stock rb25 with a T88 running 14psi making a shite load of power? or, B Stock rb25 with a small as buggery turbo running 30psi making no power? The point here is that the tiny amount of extra pressure ure adding to the cylinders from an extra 5 or even 10psi of boost (going from 15psi or whatever really) makes a very tiny difference, like will the car last 10 years or 10 years and 2 days. High revs, shortens engine life, detonation shortens engine life, an extra 3% (at most) of pressure on the rods/pistons does not meaningfully shorten engine life.
  2. There are 2 things that need to be considered and always remembered when rebuilding almost any engine 1. Nothing ever goes according to plan and 2. Nothing ends up being as cheap as you initially thought... When my rb26 spun a bearing I was planning to do a basic rebuild and be happy... that was 2.5 years ago, car is almost finished now and has cost almost 25K to do. The "while I’m here" thing Really did catch me there...
  3. Many thanks my good man, was wondering for a while where I could get me some of those...
  4. The XR6 will be more practical and that’s it, the bloody things will weigh in at near enough 2 tonne with driver and passenger. It makes power but it needs a lot more of it then a gtr to get moving, same for torque. I can’t imagine hauling that much weight about will be economical for fuel either. At the end of the day if you want a lazy, fastish car that’s comfortable to drive then you can’t get much better then the xr6 for the money. If you want something that will excite you however it’s the gtr all the way. Only the people who have driven these things in anger can understand its brilliance
  5. Good and cheap will never go together... Cheap, reliable, fast. Pick any two... That statement is as true as you can get
  6. What you have to remember is that HKS turbos are desighned to give their best at a fair bit more pressure then 15 psi, closer to 22 psi would suit them better and then they would realy start to show what they can do
  7. Manifold out to take the turbos off, its the most effective way. So exhaust off, top water/vacum lines off/disconnect oil/water feed and return lines and turbos out. And be well stocked on your favourite brew and bandages. Hope you dont have a swear jar coz those seized nuts will fill that baby up in no time...
  8. Welcome!!! Good to see more and more girls owning and driving the fabled godzilla
  9. Here are some of the inside with the baffle
  10. Anything specific you want to know? Have just fited mine but the turbos were off the car. The engine is still out of the car so can take pix if you want
  11. Ok, so there isnt any specific improvement related reason one would change them then?
  12. How are braided turbo lines better then solid?
  13. Personaly I have always been a fan of racing a car exactly as you drive it every day.
  14. Nismo will make an s tune first as they always do then prob an r tune a bit later
  15. Onto desktop it goes, looks awsome!
  16. Wouldnt make your standard one lighter, it compromises its strength. If you want a lightened flywheel then by one that is desighned to be light
  17. Had my head done at Bert Vosbergen Head Reconditioning. havent run it yet so cant realy say much but they didnt seem to have any issues. Work done was full recon, jun bronze valve guides and new valve stem seals and all shims replaced to spec with new ones (those were blody expensive from nissan)
  18. Here are a few I took for you, if theres anything in particular you need just ask and ill try to get a pick of it
  19. You are my god!!!! I have spent many an hour looking through the service manual and even fast screens trying to find the blody thing Thank You
  20. Sorry to hijack thread but in a similar situation. There is a u shaped pipe thing that is bolted to the underside of the intake manifold and for the life of me cant figure out what its for and what connects to it. Can anyone help?
  21. If you genuinley need to drive to support a family member then Im prety shure you can aply for an extraordinary licence. Defenitley know that if you loose your licence and need to drive for work then you can get an extraordinary licence to go to and from work after the first month of the suspension has expired
  22. How much do you want for front and rear? edit, just saw other post, cheers
  23. Stock internals can handle 400rwkw+... just not stock internals that are 17 years old... Im shure when these engines were new they could handle even more then that but time has taken its toll
  24. Haha, cool. guess its a try and prey thing. Good to know someone has done it before though, Cheers
