  1. new interior. that's pretty much all of it. the dash panel is at the shop wrapped up in a box. the plastics all have a think coat of Armour all on them. all of this came from a 89 GTR wreck. the boot trim is not there but it is in great condition as well. I have ALL the bolts/screws/snaps for it as well. The carpets are in quite good condition and I am still trying to find a way of storing it OTHER than folding it up.. original gear boot/radio trim panel. my original one was split in three places. original handbrake trim/armrest panel. I'm impressed as most of this stuff is OVER 20 years old! more new bits. this has been covered in armour all to keep it from drying out. these are the panels around the column. there was an alarm in the donor car (top left panel has a bezel in it.) and I'm probably going to replace that panel at some point as I tend to put my alarm LEDs in another spot. (the current idea is to find a security indicator out of a 90/91 mamixa and drop that into my dash.)
  2. justin, yes please. build date on the donor car was 09/97. engine looks to be a 2nd gen RB25 judging by the lack of ignitor box towards the rear of the engine.
  3. not a probelm. troy and I have been pulling cars apart for more than 20 yrs. understand your specialists comment well. I have a wholesale business that supplies them. RTFM doesn't seem to apply to some of them and care doesn't apply to the rest of them.
  4. yep mine used a white bottle. the image you put up looks close to what I have though. the pickup points look similar.
  5. just a trivial point, if the box is slipping then to do it properly it would be a good idea to get teh TC looked at/swapped over as well. it would have a fair bit of trash in it from the slip. mention that to the trans guy.
  6. one thing I negated to mention. doors are now off it. didn't realize that they were that much of a hindrance with them in place. I now have to find a place to put them.
  7. thats true. on a airbag car it goes: wheel, clockspring.relay, horn with the supply fused. they ground of the mount that holds them.
  8. hard brake lines (all of them) - front ABS sensors - $?
  9. guys, my engine has finally shown up but the scrap guys cut the P'steer tank off and left me with a hose stub. I need a decent shot of a C34 P'steer tank as I want to see if it will mount in the same place as the original one on my GTS4. can anyone help ?
  10. started rubbing the surface rusted areas down with rust converter. did that before I left the shop and I'll clean it off early in the morning. took a few piccies as well. the next few weeks are going to be dedicated to cleaning the shell up (low on extra $$) so I can get it ready for the panel shop. also found where the sills were cut in as well. there was a LOT of f'glass and filler in the forward areas around the outer drivers kick panel area. ground all of that out and it looks OK from a removal point of view.
  11. also push the plug INTO its socket when you push the lock in. they will stick if you are pulling on it whilst pushing the lock in.
  12. depends. if you are using the '$5' ebay ones - yes it does affect view. there are companies that do the newer capacitive ones that work fine. size will be the issue though. that is a odd sized screen. I looked at it a while back when I was doing a few GTRs and the idea was to pop a overlay on the GTR screen and drive the garmin with it. had trouble finding something to fit.
  13. nah, RB25 is fine. the mechanic I share my building with had to do a mazda MPS6 and the turbo job on that was $5k so a rebuild on a set of GTR turbos would get close and that is som thing I do not want. also if you need a 4spd auto for yours I have one here.
  14. it was the high variance of 4 that worried me. last time I saw that was on a chev V8 and I had a head gasket problem. the understanding that I have of the L6 is that anything below 140 is rebuild time and I can see $15k going into this engine quite easily if I had to rebuild it from scratch.
  15. its a variation on the MFD mod posted here. you can select the 'tv' and with that selected you have the choice of reverse cam or in that case garmin navi. camera takes over when reverse is selected.
  16. yet to do that. I did the test as I got the engine - on a pallet with oil in it. figure its been sitting for 4-5 months easy. all plugs IN really didn't want to go there just yet. I was hoping to simply clean the thing up and use it. doesn't look like that is the case with this one. I'm going to the shop in an hour or so anyway so I'll grab a squirt bottle and fill the bores with a bit of oil and repeat the process. ideally 150 + is good I take it?
  17. ok compression test done: 1 - 142 2 - 150 3 - 138 4 - 160 5 - 147 6 - 143 done with a full battery , throttle fully open , used a snap on digi gauge. 3&4 concern me. do I have to right to be worried??
  18. on subaru the hoses exit cleanly from the car. I cannot find where they exit on this one. never looked at a holden one. FAST doesnt tell you where they exit. I wished it did.
  19. good to see you got the brakes on it. those images mean that the 17x8 that I have will work with the stoptechs.
  20. certainly can. the roof glass is out of a 92 (bought new.) . I have it in storage as I really DO NOT want to destroy a $1200 piece of glass. mine worked sort of until I stripped it and gave it a good clean. now its much better. get a good look at your glass panel as well mine was rusted underneath and that was NOT visible from the top as for pulling the roof assy out- its a full upper interior gut. so A,B,C trims off. roof lining out and s second person to help with the s'roof assy. the thing is a bitch to get out by yourself and balance. once you have it out flip it over and drop 4 bolts out of the glass. glass will come off. realigning it is fun as its a in/out job a few times to get it in the right spot. whilst you have it out have a good look at the main roof panel. if you see anything remotely like mine - get it fixed. otherwise its a glass out roof off exercise. one request I do have since you have a s'roof car - where do your drains exit the car? there are 4 of them and they come out in the corners somewhere but I cannot find where. a BIG thanks to DUH19 for letting me take 'useless' photos of his car. (white GTR) I was having issues with the rear inner fuel tank bracket location and the actual bracket shape (FAST listed two different ones.) but it turns out that the bracket IS the same as the one I have here and it simply slides to the left one hole. his car helped me work that out about to do a compression test on the engine - hopefully 150PSI + across all 6.
  21. so lots more eye candy then - good!!
  22. need to fix that the chair was awesome.. (or sugar daddy as he calls it now.)
