  1. thread mine... (sorry!!) been looking at this idea for my R32 GTS4. I have a mate that can make dash overlays and my thought was to drop the tach out of my cluster and drop a 4" LCD panel in place of it http://www.lcdtft.com/Detail.asp?Product_ID=000.900_LCD4CHL from my reading the HKS CAMP will do the basic things off the consult port and other items with the additional sensors attached. given that the camp is an older unit has anyone got a CAMP2? I can find plenty of info on the CAMP but little on the CAMP2. from the little amount of info I can find the only difference I can see it that the new one runs OBD2 as well. anyone got the CAMP2?
  2. rear boot panel is here. hopefully pick it up on monday.
  3. I see a V in the model. that indicates it plays video of some sort. if its DVD then yes you have a probelm. the region code is different. USA is region 1 whereas Oz is 4. so any proper dvd you put in will not play.
  4. bugger, well bodo and myself shot the sh1t and ate pizza. debated about meeting up with the western guys but at 855pm we both decided to go home. come on guys ... if its a date issue tell me - I'll move to a sat night..
  5. you have been reading to much about me as for decent alarms - autowatch, mongoose or viper (yes the do make a black wire one.). preference is the autowatch due to size. also find someone that can install. by htat I mean properly and not simply tossed under the dash. if they pull parts of the dash out and hide it - great . if they pull the whole dash - even better.
  6. you got to see it though. most are not that lucky. I will say one thing at the end of this build. if anyone door dings it I will probably kill them.
  7. spent some time tonight unpacking a pallet of stuff. two boxes , carpet, boot trimmings and lots of panel work. all of it out of a 89 GTR that could not have been over 38-40K old. every bit of it was clean as and I have put all of it away and in boxes. dash included. it was a far cry from where I started and once the body is done/painted it will go in. purchased it off a SAU NSW club member. cheers pete I also started stripping the mirrors down and bagging the bits. if I can get the paint off without destroying them in the process then I will start cleaning them up. I have to find new mirror glass that is FLAT glass. I think that is going to be fun
  8. if you have pulled it do you have the body, dash, tail harness out of the grey car? (or what ever the ABS pump came from.)
  9. pete, YOU FKN ROCK!!! (I got everything today VERY WELL PACKED!!!) buy stuff off this guy!! he's great!!
  10. ok. I will be there from 730-8pm no show after that and I'll head elsewhere
  11. give me 6 months the interior arrived today for it , the engine arrives on monday from there it's a case of reassembly once a few more panels arrive.

LINKY TO FUN AND GAMES !!!
  13. still bet I can steal the car in under 30 sec...
  14. some new bits: the left one is the lower rear right corner brace for the boot. the right one is the fuel filler panel. this is an addition to the rear guard and not part of it. I also ordered the rear boot panel today as well. it is a LOCALLY kept piece out of MLB. the rear shelf is next to order and that too is a LOCAL piece. It seems local support for this car is great!! there are $90 worth of bits there. closeup showing part number close up showing part number
  15. as it has been covered many times...
  16. as I said. I'm there.

linky no worky - wonder why
  18. the older clarion units had it on the back. everything newer seems to be front only. voice - nah. that was a pioneer thing. also look at JVC.
  19. horses for courses kenworth t950 unladen would suprise quite a few people. VW golf - yes to a point. google performance diesels. you may find merit in this crazy idea.
  20. troy, I also do RF. have plenty of that in my own drive car. a 4ch amplifier would do nicely for the task at ahand. a RF 400.4 will do VERY well. if thats a bit expensive for your taste grab a clarion one. quite a bit cheaper and still has decent power. not a fan of option - found that in comparison against the other two they seem to have less output.
  21. spoke to the panel shop today about the mess in the right rear corner of the window - it was suggested that it would be cheaper (labor wise) to replace the rear shelf than it would be to make a patch for it. I tend to agree myself. this is another panel that stays in place until the car goes to the panel shop. given that it ties the middle of the car together I'm not about to remove it just yet. there are 45 spot welds on it that will take me about and hour or so to get off. part number is : 79400-04U30 for those keeping track for those that want to check - this is what the rear seam around the boot is 'supposed' to look like. if you do not have one there is a VERY good chance that yours has been crashed and you have the problem I am faced with now. tape measure showing length of 'caulk' seam. this is mainly for my reference so the panel shop has a reference to work from. picked this up today. its a GTST item and now I have a full set of reverse lights that are not cracked. the inner mounts are intact as are the steel brackets that hold it to the body. see the next two images for a better description image showing damaged mounting points and torn plastic tabs close up of the steel brackets/plastic tabs. 90% of these things are rusted (right side) or the plastic mounting points have been sheared off. in both cases it makes the panel almost useless.
  22. I'll be at carseldine shops in the van from 730. I would like to get this meet going properly so if you can drag a few more people in even better. I'll even spot a pizza or two

  24. think laterally huge torque, lots of power if dialed right, plenty of range. I don't see anything wrong with the idea myself. sure it would piss the purists off but from a fun and economy sense - I'd consider it. 2.5 or 3.0 TD out of a patrol/navara with the appropriate gearing - would suprise a few people. especially if it was auto and you could set the shift points appropriately. follow?
