  1. What in the fking world? You could have bought another Skyline with that kind of money back then 😅 It's like they encouraged you to drink your sorrows away and always have a 6 pack in hand to maintain your drunkenness
  2. Because it is, I have calculated gear too. Only time it shows the wrong gear is when the clutch slips lol.
  3. I agree with you there, I still don't understand why they extended the car loan via Europcar for 1.5 weeks whilst they faffed about and deciding if they are to waive the labour or not. $469 vs. 1.5 weeks of car hire, I think paying the labour costs would have been cheaper for them, but shit for brains at head office chose the latter. Looking at RRP rates for a comparable car is $96 per day, so 11 days is $1056, let's say they get corporate rates at 40% off (wild assumption here) that would mean it's costing them $633, which is still more than the labour costs. Makes no sense right? Lol.
  4. just this and roughly in the centre, once the car is running you can adjust the CAS to hit the required base timing (if you're ever using an aftermarket ECU, do not do this as you can offset in the ECU and/or the factory procedure will not work).
  5. VW Australia were kind enough to loan me a 2024 Nissan X-Trail ST-L for 42 days, so generous of them! Not going to lie, it does what you've described just with a few missing features such as: auto door locks electric tailgate auto mirror dip on reverse washer jet on reverse camera (great for rainy days when there are droplets on it) multiple/directional reverse guidance beeping (yes that's right you hear the beeps inside the car at each corner, depending how close you are to things) knowing my name when I open the door lolol (listed in order of priority) I do like the 2024 CR-V too, however it's odd, it misses a 360 degree camera, yet has everything else.
  6. So picked up the shit box, it does drive better. It's like they've revised the DSG strategy as it does not feel like other MY18/19 Tiguans I've driven. As soon as you let go of the brakes it engages the clutch straight away, where as before there was a very small lag (not as bad a MK5 MK6 Golfs / Passats), now it's nearly non existent. Also, in a way, I got a DSG service & 2 years warranty on the mechatronic & labour, etc. Some peace of mind for the next year, and sell it before that warranty period is up. Dealer also said they get at least once a month in with the faulty mechatronic issue & overflow from other VW dealers. They also said VW are aware of the issue but are only willing to cough up the parts NOT the labour, especially when there's a technical bulletin on it, TPI 2058102 / 24. Is what it is, serves me right for buying a shit box VW.
  7. Are you getting +12V at the injectors? If not, check the ECCs relays, then trace it back from there.
  8. don't be sorry, not your fault! I should have listened to my other mates and go buy a BMW X3 the time, however the stats didn't look as appealing as the Tiguan, not to mention the 1.8% finance was very attractive, left money in my offset at 3.9% which meant I was ahead. Well drive quality, adaptive suspension, sound deadening, tech, economy for a 162kW car is way ahead of its Japanese counterparts. Just the DSG sucks.
  9. Pack of arseholes. No Maria, your bullsiet email doesn't find me well. Typical VW Australia, bunch of flogs. First and last VW shit box for me.
  10. I personally don't like Ross, and especially after they sold me a PS idler kit that was poorly designed and doesn't work with the RB25 out of the box. Another person has the same issue too. I emailed them numerous times, sent them photos, videos, etc. and they've ghosted me the pricks.
  11. We must be related. I use a NZ Cam trigger kit with an ATI balancer. I needed to get a custom PS pulley to suit the RB25 PS pump from Hi Octane Racing. Motor hasn't exploded yet, makes 437kW, has seen half a dozen track days at SMSP, 2x silly wannabe Power cruise events and runs AC.
  12. Won't need a billet block at this rate 🤣
  13. Rip it out and sell it, someone will buy/install it so their JDM is period correct lol.
  14. I urge OP to take a photo of their dump pipe/screamer I'm curious to see if my assumptions are correct.
  15. What a prick, the more you look, the worse it gets.
  16. Is that screamer those silly pipes that go on the stock turbo? If so, I imagine a Venturi effect is present when you're coasting off boost and the narrowband O2 is registering a lean condition. Your ECU is now adding in fuel to compensate for the lean condition.
  17. Inb4 Duncan has a sads Convert to a single, twin scroll modern turbo.
  18. Pull off your front timing cover and see if the intake & exhaust cam is in the right spot vs. the crank pulley Easy check
  19. Sounds normal to me, OEM Nissan BOVs open as soon as you're below atmospheric and there's ever so slightly pressure being generated by the turbos. You'll probably get the turbo shuffle too from the two turbos pushing towards a single hot pipe too.
  20. FWIW, using the Benshit code DB1520, this pad is shared with R32~R34 GT-R Brembo & 350Z. Same goes for Project Mu, Elig, Intima, etc. I am running the same Intima RR pads from a R32~R34 Brembo caliper on my 350Z Brembo setup.
  21. If you want a equivalent turbo to make about the same power and response as your current one and to dose well you'll need to go something old school with a 6+6 blade (as you've mentioned). I'm thinking a TD06-25G, no idea how good these turbos are but in Precision speak it's like a 6058 (which doesn't exist, they do a 5858). A few random videos I found: As you have a 2.8L already, would a Precision 6266 OR a Turbosmart 6262 tickle your fancies? I would lean towards the Precision 6266 as it's offered in T4 divided so you can retain twin scroll for that low down & smooth power delivery.
  22. Opportunity to convert to R35/370Z coils, those coils are more trouble than anything else. OEM (including R35/370Z) or Splitfire are the only sensible options. In the past when I was a broke lad in my 20s, I bought brand new colourful (won't mention the colour, but it's similar to my skin) looking coil packs and 2x actually came DOA! Ended up buying used Splitfires and instantly fixed my misfire issue.
