  1. hey how do you change the time on the display, without cheating, i.e pulling the battery.
  2. Free to a good home:- R33 GTST Dash Surround No cracks, but i started sanding so scratched to the shithouse. Just wanted to see if anyone wanted it to muck around with for a mould cast or repaint it, etc. There's a few vents that i have as well, but no buttons or inserts. I'm keeping it for a week then it's going in the bin. Pickup from North Ryde.
  3. Hi mate, I'm going through this process currently with my 35. Haven't found they are hard to get, just very expensive. It's your repairers responsibility to source parts, in this instance through Nissan. If they can't or can't be bothered - go somewhere else. And yes most places give you the option of sourcing parts yourself as soon as insurance clears the payment. Have you got any quotes yet?
  4. Yeah thanks, I've looked into buying them from there. The prepainted thing doesn't quite work for us as the colours are different in their market from what I remember. When I asked them, they didn't know what blue my car was, but could send me one unpainted. However their shipping costs to overseas were outrageous even on smaller items. They are very quick and quite cheap to ship within the US however as I've bought stuff off them previously and bounced them through a mate who was travelling through at the time. My insurance will cover most of the charge, hopefully I can source it through Japan. BTW, Anyone got a link on the Nissan Japan website to the extras for the 2003?
  5. For sedan guys in Sydney only! Hey guys, I need to change the front bumper in my 2003, so I'm trying to source one of those Nismo Aero bumpers. I'm only interested in original, no copies. Not promising anything as nothing is definite yet, and I may not be able to get you one at all. I'm just saying if anyone is interested, let me know and I'll keep you in mind and see what we can work out together. Cheers.
  6. I had no log books at all. It's just one of those things you have to weigh up if it's an acceptable risk to you when buying the car unseen especially at auction. The best you can do now is get your agent to take pics for you and get their impression of how the engine is. Then you wait 3 months and do the various services as soon as you get the car, probably best to coordinate with your compliance place. If you are going to worry about it now, you will lose lots of sleep. So best to relax, and hope for the best. I'm sure you will be happy. Concentrate instead on the paperwork you need to get it into the country, import approval, DEH waiver and such.
  7. Wow, I thought it was just me! My black 33 has had 5 hits in the past 4 years. None my fault.
  8. Congrats on the result. Granville? Ok I'd like a PM too now please, that's too close for comfort! BTW, did they even show up to the hearing or send a rep?
  9. Nice find - Does that mean what I said here is actually true^^^ I always dd think the big connector was the proper one to hook into and the secondary was just the aux. Is that right?
  10. That's cool! I've read about it, but haven't seen that before. Does the other side of the steering wheel have controls for the stereo? What model is your car? Might want to check to see if it can connect by bluetooth because I have read that it was an option.
  11. NA, I bought that scanner too. Returned now. I can't believe they sold it to you even after all the shit they put me through. I can tell you pretty much all about it. PM me any questions you may have.
  12. Nah, no point doing anything with that. A different company makes them over there - Zenrin. Firmware version is way different so hardware(chipset) must be different too.
  13. They are the US firmware update CD and map data.
  14. Forgot to mention the other day Chris, that there is one more faint glimmer of hope on that front. When you go into the Diagnostics/Settings menu of the NAV there is one menu in there on mine that is greyed out and if I'm correct it is actually the languages setting. Whether it was actually implemented is another matter. Of course I may be totally wrong, but we need the smelly monkey to tell us what it says. Oh and is it the same for the rest of you guys? Go into the diagnostics menu(INFO+DISPLAY for 5 seconds at any time) and then the settings screen. Maybe someones is unlocked!
  15. Pertinent question, I was thinking about this today! On a similar note, are you allowed to sell a plate which has a company name associated with it? e.g. My cousin has "FOXTEL" which he's had for many years and now wants to sell it. I know he could probably get away with it, but is there like a trademark thing to be aware of like domain names? Saw an old Commodore the other day with "GOOGLE" on it too.
  16. Sorry mate it's been a while and I can't remember all the functions you can change. I don't want to give you false hope but I do vaguely remember something about that being in there. I'll be back there in a few weeks and i'll test it out for you. ps. I like the chimes! I forget my lights on and it tells me. I don't like the reverse one though... The beeps when you lock the car were definitely not in there though Sure Chris, PM me.
  17. Hmmm. I thought this was dead and buried! I am interested in the method that you are trying. With the setup at a local workshop I can change BCM settings on my 2003 but haven't seen any indication of being able to change anything to do with the AV. Not through the consult anyway. Might just be that we have the old or generic Nissan version(we can't do any NATS stuff either). In response to your question, if it's cheap like under $50 then I would think the consumer would be interested. If it's a major investment then I don't think there would be huge interest simply because it won't give any additional functionality and you get used to navigating the menus without knowing what they say. Others may have a different view.
  18. I read this somewhere too, i think it only did it when you hit reverse. Mine does not.
  19. Bit off topic, but wow I have to say they are great looking photos Scathing, are they yours? I'm just starting out with a DSLR now, but my photos look nothing like that! Any details on camera, lens, exifs on those photos would be much appreciated to help me learn.
  20. Ryde area. I've only seen 1 other 2003 exactly the same as mine and that's it in the same blue.
  21. Would we be stretching the friendship for our own for sale section too? I know its a long shot, just thinking what would be the best way to sell parts specifically to other v35 drivers. The other thing we can do which is probably a bit more practical is still post in the For Sale section but we use our own naming convention for the threads. Eg, start all threads with something like "V35-". If we all agree and make it the policy for selling our parts, then we can have a sticky up the top that runs a search that would pull all the threads for V35 parts and present them to us. Even if it was just a link to search results that would be fine. But we have to all agree on a convention. Thoughts all?
  22. I have both. I got them from everythingg35. They will ship to Aus, but for some reason their shipping costs they quoted was over $150 US. I got them shipped to a mate who was over there at the time and he brought them back in his suitcase. I had no luck trying to find one in Aus. What I can tell you from my own experience in my sedan with no other mods at all when I put it on, not saying it will be the same for you: * The Z-tube own it's own does jack all. No sound difference, no power difference. I was driving around with it for a month before I put on the pod filter. * The JWT Pod filter - i put this on with the z-tube(I didn't bother trying it on it's own). With this combination, whatever gains I was meant to get are NOT noticeable. I sometimes do think that the car is going great, but I can't honestly say that I would attribute it to the new intake. For me 6hp is nothing anyway, so I wouldn't buy it expecting to feel the difference. No I haven't dynoed it before and after, why would you bother if you can't feel it in the first place? You do get that growl thing they all cream themselves over at g35driver over 4000 revs(meh it's ok...), but I found it also added quite a bit of rasp. Interested to know if others get this rasp too. There is no sound difference at idle, you literally hit 4000revs and then you get a different sound. However - I can tell you that the JWT Pod is fantastic quality. It is MUCH larger than I expected it to be (about the size of your head!) and it looks great. It's not made of plastic like others i've dealt with, it's chunky metal. I would buy it again on this basis alone. Experiences might differ with headers, exhaust, ecu - not there yet! Also just to help out other members, if your are going to go to the trouble of buying stuff from over in the states, might want to post a new EOI thread so you can save on shipping, etc.
