  1. He found out I was going VE so now he's going VE and a stroker to be cooler He had to do a bottom end anyway as the head was well over spec as it was.
  2. Some bits turned up.
  3. This. It is transferring loads to points not designed to take it for sustained periods of time, even if you cannot feel them in the steering wheel/pedals/seat etc. Glad you got it sorted.
  4. This is what I see
  5. Ohhh cool beans! Max has had his fun now, I wan an Angry Hamburger to come out next year and do some stomping, take his 8th and disappear into the sunset. Also quite bitter that Zhou gets an F1 seat because $$$ and Piastri just gets a reserve seat when he's had such a good run.
  6. Not bothered at all, it's all good discussion Agree RC had it tough, agree banning them being in his ear is the right call. Is the RC getting the boot as I heard from a mate? Haven't looked in to it. I tend to see Max as being a little aggressive, bordering on too far at times but the f**ker can drive. This is a Danny Ric safe space...
  7. I'll flip it and have a squizz.
  8. This just in from engine builder. Nice and thick base and flange he said, did note he wouldn't mind adding more slots/louvres to the channel tray to allow more/faster exit. So I guess this is now a Le Mans build ok?
  9. Picked up the dah I intend to try and hack up. Still has an airbag, do I need to remove this or can I just disable it?
  10. Nah not a Max fan, not really a Lewis fan either, but my boy Danny wasn't going take a WDC this year so I wanted to see Lulu take an 8th. I agree he made the right call to remove those cars and let them race, finishing under race conditions is always preferred, but the biggest issue is that call came AFTER a prior call that they would NOT be removed. I know Merc missed pit entry simply due to timing of the SC, but had they said straight up lapped cars would drive through, as been the case this season pretty much every time, Mercedes could've pitted on the next lap, lost track position yes, but been behind max on brand new super softs also for a proper lap of balls out racing. BUT, that is hinged on whether Lewis gets to retain P2 or does he end up at the back of the train and has actually given away a bunch of spots? I know there's no overtaking under safety, but do you still lose positions if you pit? Otherwise they would be assuming that yes Max has new tyres and those cars in between will be blue flagged but he still has to clear 4 of them who are fall fighting for positions themselves, that will slow him down and he only has 1 lap. Then last second, lapped cars between Max and Lewis please go, SC in this lap, go racing boys! Anyway, that flip flop pissed me off, hard to choose a strategy if things are changing that fast at one mans discretion. Re the Lap 1 incident I am on the fence, When they said he had given back the advantage, I took that to mean Lewis was about 1.5s ahead before max just decided to bomb the braking zone and force Lewis wide, yes he made up that time under brakes, but only did so by forcing another driver off. Lewis lifted and the gap came back to 1.5s, then he got back on the sauce and gapped him flat out. Also, "It's called motor racing, we went car racing" is perhaps once of the dumbest things i have head in ages. All of Australia should be ashamed it was uttered by one of our own. If I was Toto, I would also be in stunned disbelief. And yes, best season we've had in YONKS. Can't wait for March
  11. f**k Michael Massey. That is all.
  12. You can get a LOT of very excellent cars for 200k, you can even get 4 very decent ones. It's a luxury purchase now, lets see what the future holds. I've watched GT-R prices move around a lot in the last 20yrs, who knows what the next 20 has in store as other desirable cars become less popular/more affordable or if that will even matter? I think the owners in that market are going to work very hard to keep prices up though.
  13. Just had an FB message for gear shift surround and door cards so if you are keen let me know
  14. HFM 2 piece fronts and DBA T3 rears. Pads will be Intima Type RS front and either Type D or SR rears as Johnny and I were discussing bite vs progression in the rear pad. Will just take a guess as I wont know what the balance is like until we get out there, I had considered putting in a basic balance adjuster though.
  15. I reckon these came out half decently. New bushes should be here next week then I can pop the hubs in and put the knuckles back in the car while I wait for the rear rotors. #NoCrustFabrications lol
  16. I've got a 34. bought it early 2010s to mod and track. car sits at home with an outrageous insurance premium. its an investment, not a car I enjoy now. which is sad. ################# Dunno why you deleted the above? It raises some valid points though and mirrors part of my views back when I sold. Buying or keeping as an investment is as a valid a reason as any, but not for me. I was also thinking that the market has moved and we have a new type of buyer for whom the purchase price isn't a factor and don't bat an eyelid on dropping bulk coin for very high level mods/repairs etc so the value proposition is still fine. Maybe If i was richer I would have felt differently about it too?
  17. This man knows how to do business Too late sorry, money already went into engine parts for race car.
  18. Head is back, builder sent this and said he will do some light polishing to finish it off but is very happy with the result. I asked about it looking so textured he said "Its actually pretty smooth. That's just toolpaths so looks more pronounced depending on angle. OEM is 10x the texture of this" I didn't take any pics of the head before I sent it but have included a stock image from the interwebs, look at the casting marks on the last cyl far right 0_0
  19. Oh, nah not nasty, just facts. New owner reckons he had offers of 150k The extra $$ is the only reason I wish I still had it really, who wouldn't want another 50k for letting a car sit and do nothing. I like money, I would liked to have made more money from the sale That's just about when I sold the car though, the question was more around are they worth the current ask (no IMO) and will they come back down or keep going up (could go either way). I also couldn't get it down the dirt road and up my driveway into my property without a a car trailer so it wasn't practical (we moved out of town). That said, if I had kept it another 2-3years it would have either cost me another 50k in mods (engine and box) or much more in divorce settlement because I was literally "that" unhappy owning the car. It was a relief to sell it (but that is more about me as a person, not the car market). But yes, more money plz and thx!
  20. I can wade in to this and I'm 50/50 on it, as a person who bought a cheaper 34R then sold it for a small profit a few years later (which was 3yrs ago now). Dot points for quickness, all of this is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. They are not worth current asking prices vs what you can get for the same money if what you care about is having the "best" car for the money, I don't begrudge anyone making good money on what I'd consider lesser examples/cars I wouldn't personally touch etc - why would I, it has no impact on me but I see some people getting really worked up about this part. They have a ton of nostalgia tax on them and they are worth whatever someone will pay for them. \ They have the attention of some demographics that place different values on aspects of car ownership than what might have been the previous general demographic of owners. By this I mean looking "cool" is worth a lot to some people. I can't tell if it will keep climbing (US market demand, less examples available, what is around is being modified to a higher standard now etc) or the hype will die and prices will return to some level of normality. Driving one back to back with something, even of lesser value, quickly shows you where the value proposition really is (R35/M4/C63s/911/A90 Supra) the list goes on. This was bought about about 6yrs ago and sold 2yrs later or there abouts after I realised I wasn't enjoying the stress of trying to keep the car mint/worrying about resale values etc/and not being blown away by what I was getting for the time/money/effort I had put in to date, this was a mild street tune setup with 380rwkw, still twins etc. It was an ugly duckling with questionable aesthetics, he had the bonnet/bumper/boot all painted professionally to look that way 0_0 but was very clean base for a build. At first I suspected it had been crashed but it was straight as an arrow and sold easily. I had lusted after a 34R for some time, having previously had a far less modified 33R 10yrs prior, but I actually enjoyed owning the 33R more as I cared less about it. I absolutely adored pulling the cover back and looking at the 34 in the shed, but in reality it wasn't what I had built it up in my head to be and I am much happier building my race car to thrash.
  21. I'm not sure what you're trying to say here?
