nice one... driven an SE4, and they're quite nippy. It misses out on the RWD ceffy's weight distribution though cos its a bit nose heavy (as are GTS4's I suppose). Watch out for the ABS though, had it fail on both my last GTR, and GTS4, and the SE4 I drove was prone to getting air bubbles in the system. Other than that, a GTR/GTS4 gearbox, new rear diff to match the ratio of the front (auto diff ratio is different to the manual... unless you go the auto route) and RB26 should see it being quite the little sleeper. Also from memory the late model ceffy's still ran non Consult based ECU's so you'll probably wanna transplant the wiring over from an R32 too.

the bartercard system failed and died a miserable death, even after many attempts of revival... I'm not so sure another similar system is gonna be worthwhile. Besides, who's gonna police it? We have enough trouble keeping on top of a For Sale section. We really don't need the extra hassle of "i have all this SAU points but I can't use it for anything that I want". With point 6 of the first post, what's to stop a seller glossing over the guy with first dibs in favour of someone who's gonna pay him cold hard cash? It is a recession-based theory after all. I'm keen to see a "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" kinda system, but there's always some idiot who rorts the system and makes it unfair for everyone, and obviously someone will end up getting the shaft (eg someone spending 4 hours detailing your car earning the same points as someone installing a stereo in your car for an hour... but the audio installer can get away with charging so much cos there's no one else who can do it... just as a hypthetical) besides... SAU's not losing members over a recession... well not a noticeable amount anyways.... plus its not a recession (yet)

its restrictive on what you can use to pair with it. to get around this you have to use a $90 dongle... kind of a fuckaround, and you still have a lag at the end of it. I've started working on a serial port emulation which runs on a jailbroken phone... but you'll need to jailbreak your phone first to use it.

great idea for getting rid of underbonnet temps when the car is stationary, and improving intake... but you're totally screwing the air channeling that goes on under the bonnet. smarter idea would be to cut those vents towards the back of the bonnet so when you're going at speed the air comes into the front, cools your parts and then goes out the back... instead of air coming in and straight out through your holes. not bad DIY, but has anyone taken some real temperature measurements before and after cutting them?

some cars can't be replaced unfortunately... and no amount of insurance will bring it back. Try an R34 Z Tune for example... or an R32 GT-B... or an R33 LM GTR... To anyone else they'd look like run of the mill skylines, but to the owners they're one in 100 made etc.

haha looks like raceonusa uses the same kits that Viva Garage (vivagarage.com.au) down here uses... they even have the same "R34 JGTC" kit (yes, if an R34 JGTC car caught hemorrhoids it'd look like that I suppose). lol not surprised, they're probably using the same suppliers. and we all know the "high quality" kits that come out of there. You'd have better luck of your R32 kit fitting a crackerbox civic.

oh one more cool thing about it... if you want MORE range... then unscrew the antenna on the top, and run a wire with a BNC connector to a car mounted unidirectional UHF antenna (or bull bar mounted antenna if you're 4WD'ing)... or you can look like a total twat and get a bigass directional UHF antenna and walk around with one You'll get reception from a hundred K's away.

If you get 4 or more I can get em for $95... they're a bit exxy, but the range is nice.
