  6. congrats on the new purchase matey. the "mystery box" is a PIVOT SPEED METER, you can just make it out if you look hard enough in the right hand lower corner of its screen. essentially it is a fuel cut defender with a few other nifty functions such as, highest achieved speed for that drive session as well as 100,200,300 and 400 metre times if you want to set it up for runs down the strip, it also does an average speed as well as real time accurate speed display on the screen, which according to the dyno is closer to actual road speed than the OEM speedo, and couple of other things too. i have one in my S2 and its a nifty little gadget that scared the bejeebus out of my old man when he took it for a spin on our private test strip, he was concentrating on the factory speedo and when it ran out i told him to look down at the other one mounted on top of the column. he immediately buttoned off as he thought we were doin 180 but were doing 245 on the little box with 1500rpm to go till hit the red.
  7. hello all. i am having a moving house type shed clean out, and i have a standard series 2 rear muffler with twin chrome tips. i was gonna chuck it in the skip bin but thought if anyone on here would like it they can have it as long as they either come get it or pay for postage. it is in good order and would be perfect for someone needing a compliance changeover?? still has all the standard mountings and was taken off in a completely unmolested fashion. pm me if you want it, i will hang on to it for another 2 weeks but if i haven heard from anyone its will be goin in the bin. cheers oxford
  8. hello all we have just got a new house and am looking to clear out a heap of "stuff" and thought, mags are a consumable for me, so here is a link to the ad in correct section etc... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sale-t203335.html cheers oxford

  10. spotted yesterday just out of MALDON in victoria, a white S2 with what looked to be a dolphin kit on it, had no front plate but a DEALER plate on the rear of it. we were in the girlfriends stealth mobile (kia cerato) anyone that has hung out on here get a new toy yesterday???????
  11. pivot speed meter is the way to go as it gives you the accurate readout and also displays some other handy stuff like 100mtr,200mtr,300mtr and 400mtr times along with max speed and average speed for that trip etc. check it out and see what you reckon. i have one and have found it to be a very nice little bit of kit. chers oxford
  12. i am in as soon as you know what the price is lemme know and will send ya the coin, oh and by the way chuckie if you have a look next to the A key on the board there is a little button with caps lock written on it, feel free to press it so you are able to stop shouting hahaaha cheers oxford
  13. just ensure they say that they are UV CUT ones otherwise your lenses will sufffer the dreaded white mist! and you wont be able to see bugger all, apparently it doesn take long to happen either? i have found the "autotecnica" silver max ones the best and as stated in prior posts that i have been using them for ages (around 4-5 years) in different cars and am yet to have any issues with them, and that has been in cars and bikes with both glass and poly lenses. they make my mates VE crumpledore gts look sh*#thouse and they are the cheap ass aus version of xenons, i have sat my car next to a 7 series BMW and they are very similar for colour etc only thing is that these aree my low beam and on the 7 it was his high's, needless to say he wasn overly impressed hahaha.
  14. the globes i posted the link to are what i use for my low beams and in the high beam spottys (series2) in the grill i imported some globes from the states that are 8500K and man they are awesome!! all the globes i use have UV cut properties so they dont fry the poly lenses in the head lights,i currently have just installed the 2nd set in there after just under 2 years so they last pretty good, and as yet i have not had any issue with the connectors melting as the xenon gas in them allows them to run a hell of a lot cooler than the halogen ones, and yes you read that right the globes i posted the link to have xenon gas in them!!! so are very close in nature to the factory xenon HID ones but a shedload cheaper to boot.
  15. hey all i have been using these globes in my cars for the last few years and have found them to be awesome, they light up heaps further down the road and all the roadside signs seem to be a lot sharper and reflect a lot better. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/H1-100W-SILVER-BLUE...1QQcmdZViewItem check em out and see what you think but i reckon they are heaps better than the narva ones. my 2 cents cheers oxford
  16. hello all i raised this question myself a while ago on here just to see what ppl thought, in the past i have hed 2 dedicated gas cars one of which was a 350 chev powered bogan mobile (SS Torana Hatchback) which had 328 HP at the rears it was a twin gas research system and it worked fantastically once it was tuned properly and fitted with the correct cam profile etc. i had the car in that config. for 8 years and was a bit of a development mule for the local gas fitter so he could convert his drag car to the same setup, it was an EJ panel van with a 454 in it that ran mid 9 seconds on C16 or AVGAS, once the gas research was fitted he was running sub 9.5 seconds over the quarter. so i have been seriously considering doing the conversion of late, to save on both fuel and coin. i am still undecided as to whether to go ahead with it but will endeavour to do some more research first. anyway that be my 2 cents cheers oxford
  17. sorry to say boys and gargoyles but i agree with tangles on this one, in that if it was offered that a financial out could be agree'd upon and said offer was not accepted then its kinda a case of too bad so sad! flame grill me as much as you like but i too have been on the unfortunate end of some dealings in a similar ilk, and at the end of the day you just hafta accept that sometimes your the pidgeon and sometimes your the statue. i found that instead of slandering a business/person in or on a public forum it is best to leave it to themselves to do it by word of mouth as this can be the best and worst type of advertising you can get, i know this from personal experience with my job as a proffesional body piercer having done it for 7 years plus i have repaired and seen some horrendous botch jobs but i will never bad mouth the original "doer" as this is just bad manners, i found it better to let my work do the talking for me. so in summation i reckon you should just bend over and take it in the ring, then chalk it up to experience.
  18. hello and welcome to the fold. nice to see another manual stag on here as they are few and far between. what options did you get on yours etc.? and hafta post up some pics for the gawkers too please? anyway just thought it would be nice to say hello and welcome cheers oxford
  19. spotted a silver series 2 stag parked in lydiard st ballarat (victoria) today, flashy chrome wheels and kit on it, rego was NSW AT-F somethin? noice looking ride with impul chairs in the front. left a note under the wiper sayin they had been spottoed and left the addy for the forum.
  20. with regard to havin any paint rework done all you need to say to the repairer is that you have used a silicon based product and they put these wonderful little things called "silicon drops" into the paint mix and viola all good! i ahve not had any issues before with repairs etc once ive told em i use mr sheen etc on my paint work. i have been using it on bikes and cars for the last 20 years after i started using it on my motorcross bikes when i was 15 to keep the plastics looking good, keeps bugs from sticking as hard too, and with the prevelence of water restrictions it is a godsend cos when it finally does rain i can get out in it with a sponge and give it a wipe over and pretty much clean, save for heavier stuff it requires a bit of soapy stuff and all good.
  21. i got mine through the post no worries but it had to be delivered via a courier that was a driver for australia post.
