  1. Awesome, you sir are a superstar! That will give me a perfect indication of the difference in caliper offsets to the bolt face of the wheel as regardless of where the disc sits the caliper "height" from the mounting surface is what I'm seeking as that mount point is the datum I need to measure from to get the backspace of the rim for caliper clearance, if that makes sense? The rim will always bolt up to face of the rotors hat does not matter what thickness the hat is, but the caliper mount is fixed on the car, so the disc will always be offset to the Centre of the calipers, and assuming the rotors are a 32mm thickness that would make those caliper around 140mm wide and the mount point around 20-25mm inside that?
  2. oh and by the way i think you may have those rotors on arse about? the slots should run with the "sweep" towards the rear of the car, as they have directional vanes on the inner webs of the rotor that are designed like a rotary fan to move the air to the outer edge of the disc, I noticed in the picture you have that they appear to be goin in the opposite direction?
  3. ok awesome I was hoping you'd say they were narrower the the sumitomo's as that is exactly what I need! the outer diameter is no big concern it is only the inner shoulder of the caliper that I am having issues with for clearance, and if you are able to chuck a picture up of the ruler next to the caliper measuring from the flat surface or friction face of the rotor to the edge of the caliper would be sensational, that way I can do a comparison of what i have with the Sumitomos that are on the car currently and then the Akebonos that I have coming, to see whether the D2 calipers are skinnier again than the Akebonos. cheers for assisting and your tolerance hahahaha.
  4. sorry to be a pain in the proverbial, but could you give a rough indication of how much difference in distance between spokes and the caliper face if there was any compared to the old calipers? also I don"t suppose you took a picture of the calipers side by side that shows the thickness of them by any chance? and would you be able to chuck a ruler in there when you have a chance to show the distance from the rotor face to the caliper front face? if I'm being annoying I apologise and feel free to tell me to naff off....
  5. How much difference would you say there was between the akebono brakes to your new ones in relation to the spoke clearance?
  6. how much difference in the clearance between the spokes and the face of the caliper did you see after install?
  7. Does the same apply for series 1&2? What models are compatible with series 2 auto AWD?
  8. I'm chasing an AB-Flug bonnet/cold air intake for a Stagea if you ever see one?
  9. yes it is the inner part of the spokes where they taper back to the hub, they are fouling on the inner side of the calipers, so if I'm able to move the calipers I have with a dogbone/adapter plate outward towards the barrel of the wheel would most likely clear no problem if it were to be a 324mm disc that would shift the caliper 13mm away from the centre of the hub and more than likely provide enough clearance, while also retaining the existing caliper/pad set as they have been identified as being R33 GTST calipers with a 297mm rotor. bloody first world problems hahaha as in: "oh man I had to get bigger brakes to clear my wheels"
  10. Pm me details, or the link to your ad please
  11. I'm looking to upgrade my current brake system on my series 2 stagea, I'll need at least 324mm rotors for the front up to 355mm, to clear the inner diameter of the wheel- to-caliper distance as the current 297mm calipers are hitting the rims on the inner shoulder of calipers and to clear would need to use a 15mm thick spacer. Will consider all brands, but will require them to be in usable condition and be able to get pads/spares etc if needed in future.
  12. The car already has 297mm GTT brakes on the fronts, and the wheels I have bought from Canada are the correct offsets for a stagea/skyline, 18"×9" (+30) and the company that makes them assured me they would clear the brakes, but I'm sure they were only considering external clearances around the outer of the caliper, the issue I'm having is the inner side/diameter of the caliper is hitting the spokes of the rim, therefore I need to increase the diameter of the discs to move the the caliper further from the hub centre, I did consider using a spacer but to achieve a decent amount of clearance the spacer would need to be 15mm minimum thickness. I'm considering the swap to maybe 350Z brembo's or GTR 325mm units but if I can get them at the right price I'd look at 340 or 355mm ones, just depends what comes along for a reasonable cost. But im always open to suggestions for options etc....
  13. Have you since put the same kit on your stagea? If so what diameter wheels do you have to be using to clear that caliper setup? And also can you supply part numbers and where you got them from? . I have just purchased a set of 18inch rims and my puny 34gtt brakes wont clear the inside of the spokes,so have no choice but to go bigger, which is a damn shame.....
  14. heya Duncan , i would like a copy of the stagea workshop manual please.

    my email is as follows.

  16. Police have been, was there for 3-4 days, but late this afternoon it was towed
  17. would like to inform anyone of an abandoned/stolen White R34 Skyline in Ballarat, Victoria, car has no plates and looks to be a bit worse for wear, has apparently been in its current location for a few days, I only saw it today for the first time. I will try to get some photos of the car tomorrow morning if it is still there and attach them to this post. all I can tell at this stage is it's missing the plates and looks as if its had a bit of a rough time, it is parked on the side of the road in Gillies street Wendouree, near the intersection of Gregory st close to the train lines headed in a southerly direction. Admin please advise if there is a better place to post this as i don't know if there is a stolen sticky anywhere?nothing came up in search for stolen.
  18. any chance you'd have an ecu with the part number 23740-0V811, and also looking for little hooks from the cargo area, if you have any of them how much would you want for them plus post?
  19. Hello all, I am trying to get some info on an Abflug bonnet scoop type intake/airbox but I'm struggling to find one anywhere. Please see attached pictures, would like one for a series 2, but if only able to get a series one unit I can adapt it to shape. I'm hoping that someone has one gathering dust in a shed somewhere that they've pulled off, or if necessary I can purchase bonnet Assy.
  20. check all the drive belts on the front of the engine, there might be a nick in one of them or it may be de-laminating and the noise only occurs once the belts have warmed up
  21. Got it on Wish, took a few weeks to get here but bucketload cheaper.... One sheet big enough to replace the bonnet card and wheel well was $36 delivered, its 10mm thick and compresses to 6mm. I'll try finding the link to seller and Chuck it up on here for interested parties.
  22. Sound deadening in spare wheel well, makes big difference to resonance on the highway, more of the stuff coming to put in the door skins and rear quarters very soon, then the big banana will be cosy quiet
