  3. oh ok, i thought u could
  4. 1. no 2. yes latest HPI mag did an article on unnecesary upgrades. R32 GTR making 306rwkw, they put stock exhaust manifolds back on (was tomei i think), stock cams back in (tomei poncams), stock fuel pressure reg (cant remember)back on and i think there were a few other things too, all in all the car lost 1kw, yes one, just ONE killerwasp
  5. it makes sense but i cant see why? are half circle donuts alot cheaper? whats a full donut worth compared to two half donuts?
  6. hey guys, just wondering, seen heaps of custom cooler piping, mostly on jap cars, that seems to have a weld not running around the pipe, but sort of along it on the bends. as i understand it mandrel bending with a machine isnt real common practice in japan, so they do it in other ways, is this something to do with it? *as luck would have it i cant find many pics, something like this though: see the seam running along the radius?
  7. well you could have two very small t4'z (its only a flange) but even still its unlikely to do much on a 1.6. as said, get pics up is it still a 1.6 or motor swap maybe? there are a couple of rotors running around....
  8. yeah well it so damn close now, after like 7 months lol. just a question of what gate, and where its coming from now... its not my car and even im getting a lil anxious
  9. that is a print out, nothing drawn as such, they were both the same colour n shit to ray changed the colour of the lines, one just looks chunky. low one is no gate, high one is 40mm gate with no spring paulr33, one run is with no gate, the other is with no spring in the gate, hence its coming on song so late. the run with the gate but no spring was more to determine if it was big enough, thats why the spring(s?) were left out edit - i believe kyle was going to do an exchange on gate + mod the manifold, but andrew just wanted to get the car done with as little hassle as possible, so ray modded the manifold, hoping to see it work with the 44mm, but gates too small, so now andrew will be upgrading gate
  10. how long did it honestly take you to type that out?
  11. ahhh wasnt thinking of specific events, makes sense
  12. i work just down the road from you, seens heaps of nice cars round there, but no widebody 33's? i drive passed you every day lol, put it on show out front so i can see it. did your boss ever find his stato?
  13. nistune daughter board is like $250, install at the very most would be 50 (if you getting ripped off) plus a tune. whoever is charging you 900 + tuning has got his hand on it
  14. sorry wasnt sure how you wanna go about doing things. buy a nistune daughterboard, plug your laptop into it, tune it, done, no removing the eprom to burn it etc nistune is retuning the factory computer, just like a remap, i dunno wtf the difference is either, nistune just seems to be the best way of tuning the factory comp
  15. whats it like being/stduying mechanical eng. for you two guys? its something that interested me but didnt do well in school, did i miss much? J3TR33, not on hammond, i work just off cheltenham road, but i drive down hammond to get to work.
  16. you shouldnt have to desolder and resolder. thats an old way of doing things, which, although it still happnes, i think its pretty rare....
  17. apprentice boilermaker, second year in a few weeks, dandy south location a mate of mine is in his 3rd year studying to be an accountant, i have to explain to him shit about tax returns (usually after i ask him a tax question i end up explaining more than i learn) and i made him aware of the changes to the tax threshholds..... i hope your doing better than him lol
  18. dont take it to heart mate, just saying, there are plenty of high powered RB30's out there, and its alot of work to get the RD28 block going with the 3 litre innards. i havent really heard of RB30 blocks letting go, bar those extreme cases of problems (tuning, oil contro, whatever), or extreme horsepower, but even with the latter there isnt an abudance of supporting evidence, not that i've seen anyway
  19. i thought it was something to do with power steering/HICAS?
  20. might not need the bracket but it will definately help. i think bd4's or sub-zero did the same thing on the HKS drag car when it was out here coz it had a crack along one of the welds
  21. hardly worth it. resin fill the rb30 bock, an run meth it'll still probly work out cheaper lol
  22. kyle, dont take what i said the wrong way, (i'm andrews mate that spoke to you on the phone) i know it will work welding it to the housing, but the cars got a plazmaman plenum, rocker covers will be painted, compressor cover might be polished, and wiring may also be hidden later on, hes trying to go for a neat engine bay, and trying to keep shit hidden. hes seen a few bays where basically all you can see are the 3 main things, rocker covers, plenum, turbo and i think thats what hes aiming for. hes also looking at upgrading to a TO4, yes even though the car isnt running properly, an upgrade is already on the cards, and it will be troublesome trying to sell the turbo with the provision for the gate hanging off it lastly, i dont think its something that should have to happen, he should be able to control boost off the manifold, real question being how we are going to go about doing it
