  1. dont know exactly what clutch is was but i drove an S15 with a brass button clutch and lightweight steel flywheel. engaged nicely, a bit harder than stock, but u can ride the clutch with no throttle without it stalling easy enough. however it was noisy when engaging softly
  2. mid to low 14's. ~180rwkw with a stock stall will get you nowhere in a hurry. just transbrake it + slicks and go for 12's lol
  3. i love reading about backyard builds, but its not realy prevelent from what i've seen/where im looking. cars im looking for are ones like that crazy ass black AE92 (i think) corolla thats running 9's, and things like that. seen one underbonnet pick of a TA22 with a 253 shoved in + big single, all backyard built, but seen no more on it. for those that read zoom, think back to the old backyard blitz articles from years ago so show me the dodgy, the cheap, the dangerous, and the fast! the more tech info the better cheers, Ben
  4. not so specific for myself but it may be of benefit fo others. where are you finding your parts and what are they worth? blocks/bottom ends/heads/looms/bottom end refresher parts etc. mainly where are you tracking heads down from, and at what price also *waits for thread to die coz everyone buys off forums....*
  5. nah for the full bottom end, $100 is an average price if you know people or are lucky or do some real work in looking around. if your real keen you can find a complete motor (or even a car) for $100
  6. X2, bonus points for kicking the door open and holding it open with your foot
  7. i got a set of 17's for my car off a stato, they want about $300 a corner to replace em, they are 225 wide, but if i go for a 235, its like $160. but because the 225 only came out on the stato, they bump the price up when people wanna replace em
  8. been searching for a while and cant find anything, there was a thread, in the fabrications ection i think, about a guy who cut up his AFM and had the internals mounted in the piping itself, but i cant find it now. im pretty sure it was on this forum but it may not be. does anyone know what im talking about? who wrote it? link to it? cheers
  9. sounds similar to when supra turbos let go, the 'death whine' as they call it click me click the link in there and see if it sounds similar
  10. pretty sure u can use it for R33's, there might have been some trick to it though, nothing major from memory, either that or nistune is now making boards for the R33
  11. haha no chance mate. you dont sound like your going to be doing much work yourself, so set aside AT LEAST 15 grand edit: thats for a decent setup, not a completely stocko motor with a stock rb20turbo etc
  12. good numbers from a 20, i wont go as far as calling bs, but it does sound like an excited dyno what cams are they?
  13. if your really serious about drag racing you can hit a low 10 with that easy, dare i say it, pushing 9's
  14. 150 watt hella spotlight moumted in rear window usually stops tailgaters
  15. full throttle i'd go just rich of 12:1, high 11's. low throttle - 14.7 is normal, but you can go a bit leaner. say 15:1 as a start
  16. jew it up to the max and do it yourself PS - im feeling this 'jew' thing. good work nismoid
  17. we built this city.... we built this city on caaaaa..nnnaaaaa.......riiiessss
  18. definately makes things easier, very handy little thing, although its not rocket science, you can do it by hand in like 5 mins, i'm doing it at trade school atm
  19. ^ beat me to it, if anything is holding you back i dare say you'll run out of fuel, although i rkn you should nudge just over 400kw depening on tune etc
  20. since when did 3Q = freak? anyway, SHTHPN - VN commo YBYAVL - EA Falcon
  21. ahhh true didnt think of it like that.... trying to think too deep into it and missed the obvious lol
  22. show us a pic of the collector, thats what he wants to know how to cut. also what will you do to fill the gap between the 3rd and 4th pieces on the second runner? just weld or cut a bt of pipe on an angle so its like a half moon shape then slot that in there? how much did raw materials cost approx for that mani also?
  23. really? A:F ratio looks a bit rough, still good but could be a bit better? PS - *my limited experience denotes my opinion means little*
