it would depend on how much you are chasing, because your legal costs would very quickly run into the thousands of dollars once you get lawyers involved.

Does It Feel Like Your R33 Is Outdated?
mad082 replied to crazyr33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
which translate to "a large portion of skylines are owned by posers who only care about brands and never use them for what they are capable of and just bought them to match their sideways hat when they try to impress 14 year old girls, and falcodores mine not have the sex appeal but they serve their purpose well and are bloody comfy" yeah i'd agree with that. a large portion of the people i know with skylines bought them because they are fully hektic uleh kebab spec wannabe drifter cars. basically they are now basically an imported commodore, LOL. -
for what it will cost you to pay someone to do the swap, plus buying all the bits, you would be half way to buying a turbo car. the best bet is to sell your car and buy a GTT. it will work out cheaper, it will have all the extra goodies that the turbo versions got, such as stronger gearbox, LSD and bigger brakes (although some of the NA's had the last 2 from factory).

R33 S2 Rb25det Changing To Rb25de Non Turbo Can It Be Done?
mad082 replied to soarer987's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
as craig said, you can't make a turbo skyline a non turbo skyline that is legal for P platers, so don't even bother trying. just buy another turbo motor and stick that in, or sell the thing with the blown motor. -

funny thing is that you can actually do what you said about commodores to a skyline. it does require you to pull the window away from the door seal a bit, but it can be done. -
as people have said, ring around and get quotes because one company might be cheaper for one person, but more expensive for another. my tip though, is have some lube ready because youre age and driving history is going to mean that you get shafted good and proper.

yes it will plug straight in. yes it will be easty to tune, or at least no harder to tune for a rb20 than it was for a rb25.

Converting Turbo To A Non Turbo
mad082 replied to jordan485's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
sell the car and buy a natro one. cheaper, easier, better. no point putting a non turbo motor in because you still can't drive it because it is modified (despite being modified to be slower). you can't take the turbo off and drive it because it will be modified (again, same as before, doesn't matter if the mods make it slower), as well as the fact that it will be slower than a hyundai excel and i'm not joking. -

something to consider is that cheap doesn't always mean nasty, people just often think it is. you can pick up mint condition cars cheap if you look long enough. if you find a car that has been on the market for ages then you have a higher chance of getting it cheaper as the seller might be getting sick of trying to sell it and just want it gone. at the same time you may have someone who fancies themselves as a car selling guru so are selling a heap of junk for a higher price simply because the car looks tidy because they have done a good job of hiding the faults. then there's the fact that series 2 often go for a higher price than s1 and s1.5. so you can get a good condition s1 for less than an ordinary s2. -
I was using my local H&R Block for my company tax and found them terrible. the first year i had made a bit of a mess of things so they charged me per hour to do it. ended up being $800. the next year i had everything sorted for them and they charged me their flat company rate which was $1100 despite them having to do much less work, and they kept making errors because they supposedly couldn't understand things, even though we had given them a few pages of notes outlining things, but they seemed to ignore them. then i changed to a different accountant who took one look at the previous work and started saying "they did that wrong, they did that wrong, they should put that there" etc and could understand it perfectly. the new accountant also only charged me $500 to do the company tax as well as both the missus and my personal tax. i understand that my H&R Block will be different to yours due to different accountants, but it put me off the whole franchise tax company thing. i also found them very snotty to talk to, where as the place i go to now is very friendly and laid back. the fact that i know her husband kind of helps too. infact he gave me a set of rims and tyres for my boat trailer on the weekend, LOL.

What Size Wrenches For Gtr Turbo Oil And Water Lines?
mad082 replied to MikeRWK's topic in General Maintenance
just have a spanner set there and try a few until they fit. -
pretty sure that in the r34's there is ER34 for the rwd and ENR34 for the GTS4. i think the E and B just distinguish between engines, as in the r33's anything with a rb26 (gtr) started with a B, rb25 started with an E and rb20 started with a H. if it's an r33 and has a C in it then it's a turbo. in the r30 skylines the DR had the fj20, the HR had the rb20 and the MR had a L24. the H always seem to stand for the rb20 across all generations of skyline.

usually a heavy duty clutch will have a heavier feel to it. so it should be hard to push in. there are a few that don't though. i'm guessing this was one of them if in fact it actually was a heavy duty clutch. how it compares in weight to a prelude clutch i couldn't say though. as for the friction point, that varies from car to car as they can be adjusted a bit to alter where the friction point is. doesn't really have that much to do with where the friction point is. -

the newer the clutch the more bite it has to it (how quickly it starts to grab once the flywheel and clutch plate and pressure plate all connect together). heavier clutches just feel a bit different because it pushes against your foot much harder. once you get used to it it's fine. my first car was a manual falcon and the clutches on them are as hard as a heavy duty clutch in the skyline, so the first time i drove a 4 cylinder i nearly put my foot through the firewall because the clutch was so much lighter. -
if the door is simply painted it will stand out like dogs balls. the door will need to be resprayed and the paint will need to be blended on the panels around it to make it look less obvious.
-
craig is right. just go to a few panel shops and ask.
-
get the paint code from the nissan production plate under the bonnet and go to your local auto parts place that mixes paint and get them to mix up a 250ml tin of paint. then just get a fine paintbrush from a craft shop or newsagent, etc, and then just use it to touch it up.

the housing shouldn't be a problem because when they rebuild it they machine out the housing to fit in bigger internals, so any scratches, etc will be long gone.

yeah in the article where they said it could take up to 10gb they did say that prologue was about 6 or so. they said it will run on as little as 256mb, but for the full install you will need about 10gb. i only have final finatasy 13 and it takes up very little space. i was going to buy a 120gb one and upgrade the hdd, but ended up getting a 250gb one because i got a free playtv and remote and it worked out cheaper than buying a 120gb, upgrading the hdd and then buying a playtv and remote. i was also going to wait for a gt5 game and console pack but i i figured that a playtv and remote is worth more than gt5 so getting the play tv free and buying the game works out cheaper.

1. looking at the pic of the back bumper, it doesn't mean the car has been resprayed but it's simply had a different bumper put on. in this case though i'd say the car has had a respray for reasons pointed out in my 3rd point. 2. as craig said, the bonnet is also no biggy as there is adjustable rubbers that alter the height of the bonnet. 3. the car has however been in a front end accident by the looks of it. that explains the 2 holes under the guard. it also explains all the wrinkles around where the cooler pipes go down to the cooler. -
as above, most of the fuel rails are steel. as for replacing the perished lines, you are a first year mechanic and didn't simply think to ask your boss at work? it's simple. pull off a bit of line, work out what size you need and put on a new bit of line.
