maybe get a copy of a workshop manual and print out the bage that shows the fmic on the gtr -
i know a young guy who goes riding with the local roadies on a mtb and can beat most of them. he rides his mtb everywhere. does some 12 hour and 24 hour races. he's epically fit.

So Who Bought An Ipad? And What Are Your Thoughts?
mad082 replied to Beer Baron's topic in PC & Games Discussion
i agree with not liking apple stuff. i don't really like the phones. have had a play with them and while they are ok, they aren't anything super special. when i came to getting a new phone i would've only got an iphone ifit had been free on my plan (which it wasn't). there were very few phones available that i liked. i ended up with a motorola dext (runs android). didn't know much about the phone as it had only been out for a few days here. even the people at the shop didn't really know much about it. they'd only had them in for a few days (i was the second person to get one from that store), and i was able to get it on one of the new optus social plans where i get unlimited facebook and youtube (as well as myspace and twitter but i don't use them) and $500mb of data for $49 a month, which is what i was paying before, however i don't get as many free calls as i did, but i never even went close to using all of them anywhere. but i have gone off topic a bit. to me the ipad is yet another product that has no real reason to have, other than the fact that we are getting more and more lazy and we want more and more stuff. it's basically a laptop made more simple. or an iphone made bigger, LOL -
i don't think he will. and you aren't likely to find prices that low for quite a while. the surplus of current stock will be reflected in how much of the 2011 bikes they get, so there is a good chance that this time next year there won't be much stock left over.

my brother in law bought one on the release day. was planning on waiting for the 2nd gen one (hoping it would have a camera, etc) but he got myer gift vouchers as a wedding present from his work and they were walking through myer and they were doing a demo on it and next thing they were walking out with an ipad. they just got the wifi one and not the 3g one. they seem to like it, but they are both apple nuts. they both have an iphone, and they have a mac laptop. -
yup, that's the one i have sitting here. $1250 is a pretty good price. if he bought it on special he's still making nearly full mark up though (about 10% less than full markup). i'm doing mine for a bit more, cause even at $1500 it's still $1100 less than the 2010 model. in fact $1500 is less than the wholesale of the 2010 model.

kenny come up and visit me at 8am in the morning in about 6 weeks time. then you will know what cold is. down the coast you don't get that cold compared to up here.

i'd like to see it like this: get caught drink driving once = hefty fine, loss of licence (pretty much what it is now, but a bit tougher) get caught drink driving again = instant jail time (few days or something like that) plus loss of licence and fine get caught drink driving a third time = 3 months in jail plus loss of licence (starting once you get out of jail) and fine

read what it says carefully. this line in particular.. basically it means that we will be on par the states who already charge that much. meaning that we currently get it cheaper than some states. and at the end of the day, $152.50 for 5 years isn't much. that's only $30.50 a year.

Is There Anywhere In South East Qld That Does Nistune?
mad082 replied to lilcrash's topic in Queensland
gary who used to work for him (and did most of the tuning) would still be able to do it. he opened his own workshop after graham shut his down. he bought a dyno dynamics dyno and i think he still has a few spare licences left to tune some cars with. he's shutting down in a few weeks though, but he will still have his dyno. -
gta in the wild west? so grand theft horse? LOL

i will answer this post in a few parts. giant is having a 30% off sale at the moment, so shops would be buying stock cheap and then passing on the savings. they might not be passing on all of the savings, but they will pass on most of them as they can easily upsell the customers to a better bike now and stil make goo dmoney on it. it also means that all their other stock is now over priced so they just have to cut their losses to try and clear it. the answer to this is yes and yes. it is partly to do with end of financial year (however this is actually a pointless exercise as it doesn't reduce your tax bill by clearing stock unless you sell it below cost. if you are selling it so you don't have to count as much then that's a valid reason). i have gone off topic a bit there, LOL. back to what i was saying, yes it is partly due to end of financial year, but also to do with the new stock being just around the corner. most 2011 stock will start coming out at the end of july. some brands will have it out earlier, others later. yes, it happens every year, however this year it is happening more than ever because it has been such a slow year for bikes and both suppliers and stores have a lot more stock than they would like, so they are doing them cheap to try and clear it out. for the first year in a while the bike industry took a big hit this year, and sales were well down on previous years, so suppliers do have a lot of excess stock on their hands that they need to clear to make way for the new stuff. that is how i got that carbon apollo so cheap. it was nearly 40% off.

yeah sorry mate, my bad. i haven't owned my 33 for about 3 years now, so the old memory is getting a bit rusty
-
be the same either way. all that is different is that the series 2 coils have an inbuilt ignitor and the s1 have an external ignitor.
-
and i know of a r33 with the single cam rb20e (and it's auto). it's a local car. has a fully sick gtr bodykit on it.......
-
if it is stock (stock exhaust, etc) then you won't see that much of a gain from upping the boost by 2 psi. you will see a gain, but not that much, maybe 10kw. you would see a much bigger gain from putting on a full turbo back exhaust and then putting the boost up 2psi. even just doing the exhaust would see a gain similar to what you will get by winding up the boost 2psi. also the ecu won't start throwing a tantrum until you up the boost by about 5psi, but on stock exhaust a 5psi increase would be stupid.
-
so you have an ignitor pack at the back of the rocker cover? in that case you will want s1 coil packs. or you could ditch the ignitor pack and get s2 coils (may require a touch of modification to sort the wiring out).

the thermostat is in the top hose, which is the one that is hot. it is hot because the coolant has just passed through the engine and been heated up, then out past the thermostat and into the radiator. the lower/cold hose doesn't have the thermostat in it and it is cold because that is the coolant that has just been cooled by the radiator.

oh i'm not saying that the rb20 r34 isn't a piece of shit, i'm just curious as to how some cars are able to get in yet others aren't. i was looking through a list of the cars allowed in and there are a hell of a lot that are on the list with terrible power to weight ratios. don't suppose you could say what the minimum power to weight ratio is that cuts off the rb20 r34?

i am curious to know why? it surely can't be due to a power to weight ratio as some others have implied as there would be cars with worse power to weight ratios than the 2.0L r34. the nissan cube for example. it's able to be imported and it has a much lower power to weight ratio than the r34 would. hell the r34 would still have a better power to weight ratio than a lot of ADM cars, such as an early 2000's lancer with the 1.5L engine

Can Some One Value My Car! Thinking Of Sellin... R33
mad082 replied to ARETHT3's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
yeah i was wondering the same thing, but from what i have heard they can charge as much as $200 per dent (and as little as $50) so i think that either way it would probably work out to be an expensive exercise. plus the fact that there is other issues as well -
also you are missing out on 3000rpm of accelerating in a lower gear with an easier ratio. that is where the argument of "what rpm to change gears at" starts to get a bit more complicated. a simple view is to change gears the moment you get past the peak power output. what this doesn't take into account is that even though the power may be dropping off, it may still be higher than at the rpm you will be at in the next gear. and then as i said above, the more time you spend in the lower gear (within reason), the easier the car will accelerate, especially when you are talking about the higher gears. that is where each car needs to be evaluated individually to see what works best. i know that in the case of the missus SSS pulsar, with the stock headers it would start to choke around 5500rpm, and it was pretty much pointless to rev it past 6500rpm. put on a set of extractors and it doesn't start to choke until about 6500rpm but will still pull all the way to the 7500rpm redline.
