  1. okay... the V will be in for the day group 5 cya there... bishes (only the cars that will be faster than me are the bishes, so that means most of you) just read the scrutineering regs, so we don't have to have battery location stickers and such? my spare tyre is secured by a fastener so i'm guessing this will be okay to leave in?
  2. as if there would be any other outcome, well done mate!
  3. congrats on the purchase regarding the motor it's each to their own, If you have a look on the forced induction section of the forum there's plenty of reading material to be found on RB30 conversions that other owners have done, but personally I'm a purist and would keep the motor RB26 even with a stroker kit, it's at the heart of what makes the GTR what it is in my opinion to me it would be like putting an RB26 into an old ford and drifting for street cred and one upping the yakuza on a japanese mountain road (ignore this if you've never seen fast and furious 3 ) regarding the wheels there are a number of vendors online here on the forums who can source a number of different style rims to suit what you are after style wise and should come in GTR offsets
  4. just not to my taste, it's all personal preference really maybe because a lot of cars with those type of plates I see are also 'sex spec' or bog standard 4bangers with horribly fitted rims and chop shop cannon
  5. pies, beer, titties... ^old but gold^
  6. HA! that's another reason I can't, still got payments owing on that, the car repayment, insurance tbh the only thing holding me back was forking out for tyres I tried every which way I could think of to stretch the budget, I'm still keen to spectate and whatnot
  7. my sister just bought a nice apartment in harris park, 5 min walk to parra station if you going for the whole unit thing like I am atm check out the security parking, try to get at least 2nd/3rd floor for relative theft prevention, the usual stuff I used to drive my Gt-t around parra all the time, no probs
  8. hence the generic styling inclusion what's even funnier is when they put a chevy badge on, I'm gonna buy a VL and whack on a nissan badge
  9. I went for a quick spin around the blue mountains today, no particular reason, woke up unusually early and just felt like it lol got up to around wentworth falls before I turned around, ended up taking old bathurst road back into penrith
  10. all on my burnt cd blues - bb king, john lee hooker motown - isley brothers, sam withers, ray charles, stevie wonder etc oldies - frank sinatra, louie armstrong 70's rock some rnb/rap but mostly of the older stuff cause I can't stand any of the voice modulated cr@p on the radio
  11. what a croc of sh%t, honestly the audacity of some people, so to get this right he said absolutely NO car, even from factory can have larger than 18"? what a tosser
  12. meh std black and white slimlines are the way to go in nsw, the yellows are butt fugly custom plates can be nice if done right, none of those cringeworthy "2nv" or "sxc" no offence intended to anyone here or plates for eg. where you go "no sh%t, it's a good thing you got custom plates spelling out "lancer/civic/commo" I just couldn't tell what it was from the badge and generic styling of the car alone"
  13. Peter brock (rest his soul) would be proud
  14. that sort of shite works on your average commonwhore/camry driver caught going faster than they should "I'm letting you off easy this time" "Oh thank you officer! (what a swell guy, he could've booked me harsher but he didn't)" of course we all know better I got pulled over on the great western at random one day in my old GTT and they were trying to tell me they saw me doing burnouts, In no way was that me I was travelling home from work, but they kept insisting they saw me which I flat out denied, they said they were gonna let me go, said they could've impounded my car and I was gonna get a fine in the mail I told them they can send it because I didn't do anything wrong and I would fight it in court, never got any fine in the mail police BS or must've been another silve GT-t doing happy skids close by?
  15. thought I'd bring this thread back and keep info up to date my experience: tried GIO but they don't take any new business for custom car insurance, referred me to just cars LSV don't do modern cars anymore (apparently) I know a few V35 guys who are with lumley shannons referred me to Just car as I am under 25 and they don't want to tread on their sister companies toes, the rep told me to give them a ring after I turn 25 already with Just car, 22 west sydney (mt druitt-oh yeah!) Maximum no claim $1989 full comp, may get cheaper if I bump up the excess $35 maximum no claim protection option, bastards, I've been "stuck" with just cars for 5 years and I have to pay to protect my no claim?
  16. damn looks like I'm out insurance renewal letter came in the mail today, forgot all about it. too many expenses in one hit I'll definitely attend a track day in future, just not Oran Park
  17. cheers eric fark it count me in I guess, depends on a few things... I'll take pics of my front tyres and you can tell me if I can run them for the day, cause believe me once you see them they're not gonna last for much longer after that so my plan is to run out what's left of the stock tyres on the day then just get the tyres replaced after that... so not looking to set any competitive times, just enjoy the track before it closes and have some fun plus I have some leather driving shoes that I can use, but I doubt they are fireproof, will they be okay?
  18. thanks for the advice duncan, believe me it's not a case of not sure about attending, I'll be the first one there lol just I REALLY should be spending this money on my house deposit on the other hand, it's gonna be my first and last chance for OP so why not? my brake pads are still good, just probably want to replace them afterwards for peace of mind is all tyres...my fronts are almost gone, i'd say 50% tread on outside edge for my fronts, will that pass for the day? rear tyres are still good other than that my swaybars and springs are on and my exhaust will arrive before then, all I can say is I wish they came before texi
  19. how's the first timer group looking?, I'm 50/50 right now on attending I'm gonna need new tyres soon so hey, maybe get them replaced before the event? brake pads/fluid anything else I need to consider?
  20. oops meant to say front swaybar
  21. yeah I had to do that when I rounded the nut holding my front strutbrace had to take my car off the ramps, jack up the front and take the wheel off for more clearance, hammered the side of the nut so it kind of had an edge again and then chisel with mallet the little f^cker finally popped loose think the chisel and hammer might be a bit awkward on the strut tower bolts as they kind of sit horizontal as opposed to vertical when I did my swaybars. def give the vicegrips a go, otherwise suck it up and get a local mechanic to take it off for you
  22. lol get a sole trading ABN too
  23. they forgot checking out ze woomenz while driving
  24. no issues replacing on my old R34, the stock wing has a kind of rubber seal to stop water leaking in the boot, maybe that's what they meant? I just had to take the lining off the inside of the boot, unscrew the 4 bolts holding it in and swapped in the gtr one, you might want to use silicon grease or tape on the inside of the replacement wing stands so water doesn't leak in
