  1. My happiness was short lived. The car has a violently rough idle. If I get the revs up it runs really nicely albeit with some very small misses occasionally. I have checked and double checked all my connections and vacuum lines. I've even replaced some unrelated vacuum lines to to and find the problem. The codes are all over the place. Throttle position, throttle vacuum, o2 sensor 1, o2 sensor 2, occasional misfire code. Makes me think a wire has been broken or something isn't clipped in properly but there's so little around where I was working to miss plugging in or to break. Super weird. It's only at warm idle. Cold start is beautiful until the revs drop below 850 - 900 rpm then all hell breaks loose.
  2. Diff. Confirmed today. $5200 from BMW. 🤣 $2200 for a used one. $1000 for a refurbished one from China.
  3. So today I went well outside my comfort zone (again) to replace my valve cover gasket. I have had a big leak over the exhaust leading to a lot of smoke and smell every time I drove it. The leak was in the rear driver's corner. The job wasn't hard as such, just a bit finicky and time consuming. The old gasket was rock hard and broken right where the leak was. The leaky corner had so much sitting oil in it. The good news to my amateur eyes was no buildup or sludge under the cover. It all looked fairly nice in there. I haven't started it yet. I ran out of light and body when putting the coils and injector loom back in. Probs only 30min left for the morning. I was so nervous putting the cover back on, I must have lifted it 5 times to make sure the gasket was still seated properly. God it's going to be nice to be leak free and not make other traffic light queuers think my car is about to explode.
  4. At least, according to this study. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a60983144/study-loud-exhaust-psychotic/
  5. I just spent a silly amount of time reading other forums' posts and watching "whats this noise" videos on Youtube. It *appears* to be the front diff having killed a pinion bearing or similar. Its almost definitely driveline, I haven't tested to see if the car makes the noise in N though but either way I think it's gonna be pricey. This is outside my area of comfort and expertise so I'll get my BMW guys on it. The bearings are attached to the hubs so are super easy to replace (at least in comparison to press in bearings) so I'll do them also.
  6. 1:13.559 My 'optimal' was 1:13.3-ish so I feel like I didn't leave much out there.
  7. Ok, bumping this because I still need help. Front and rear diff fluid done and gearbox service with new pan/filter. Noise is still there. It's only happening under load which is why my wife thought it was not happening when going up hills. The front tyres are wearing strangely (mainly outside edge) but there's no lumps or mounds in the tyres. Could this still be wheel bearing if the noise is conditional to the load? Maybe under load it lifts the front a little? Maybe I'll get it on the jack and see if there's any play there. Thanks guys.
  8. Oh man I'm so excited for that one too! These still are very high on my fave cars list. What's our time trial for these? Kyoto driving Park?
  9. Dang, this is awesome. 😍
  10. After the version 1.48 update this week I was so excited about the EG Civic (Yes, I like old Civics, don't judge me) that I challenged my brother-in-law @r-is-for-fun to a time trial challenge. An EG Civic with any mods around Tsukuba. (Note that this is also this weeks Sport time trial which I hadn't seen, minus the mods). So, my EG was converted to a B18, left NA and upped to ~240hp. Full weight reduction (879kg) and I managed a 58.223. I think Al's best was around a 58.4. I'm opening the floor now, what can you do with a modified EG around Tsukuba?
  11. Hi Rob and welcome! You've already done the most important part, now you can enjoy it while you address the rest.
  12. Welcome! Love Stagea's. The manual swap is apparently fairly straight forward though I never did it to mine back in the day.
  13. Looking great! I love the 323 on R32 wheels, thats too cool.
  14. Me too. Apparently the new version of Invision will allow some customisation so look forward to a 'Love' reaction and a new 'Like' icon.
  15. No idea. If anybody knows please update.

    Yeah, I reckon it is.
  17. Yep, I really miss mine. I dont, however, miss it's understeer. Hard to find a genuine 'Sport' model these days. That sounds awesome! Good fun and great result! I'd love to do a 1/4 in mine now that its reasonably healthy with the tune. I last did a run in my white GTR, I think it was a 12.3 and I can't remember the mph and I think the little E90 might be quicker.
  18. I love this. I still have a special place in my heart for Mk4's.
  19. Welcome!
  20. I was thinking of setting up a multiplayer comp. Just a series that anybody could join and we could run a table here. Anybody interested in that?
