  1. This sucks; https://www.speedcafe.com/2022/07/14/court-decision-delivers-hammer-blow-to-wakefield-park-future/ They'll likely be more expensive now also and who knows what the future holds. Just got new camber plates and semis and was hoping to go down in the next few weeks.
  2. Talking to yourself again?
  3. Welcome Ken! Not sure of any mechs around there, sorry.
  4. Thanks guys, theres a lot of food for thought here. @Murray_Calaverato your points re. safety, I do plan on putting my seatbelt over the top of the harness (as is required by Wakefield) so the baby seat mounts might still be an option as I don't intend for them to hold my 115kg lump in a crash. Not sure if that changes your mind on them? I was also worried about the spine compression when your shoulders go above the seat (which mine do). This issue makes me think that I should get a seat also before using the harness with stock seats. @mlr I couldn't get the videos to load on that site, but I found the one below. Very interesting. It reminds me of the seatbelt locks that you put on the top of the belt to stop it moving.
  5. Hi Guys, I'm starting to want to squeeze more out of my car when I go to Wakefield now but while there are a lot of things I want to do to the car still, I am struggling to get a good feel for it while I'm flopping about all over the place. My stock seats are *ok* not great by any means but for the time being its still my daily. I know I can just swap seats in and out but I'd like to just try a harness first to keep my rolling self pinned. I think i'll need to use it with the main seatbelt unless it's engineered, so quick clip-in ones are not going to work. I also have two of the new baby seat style clips at the base of my back seat. What I was thinking was clipping in the rear and then adding the front fixtures to the front seats' rear rail mounts. Does that make sense? If all this sounds sane(ish) then I'd need to know what to get. It seems like a Sparco harness is the go but there seems to be eleventy billion different types and configurations. Thanks guys. C
  6. Watch everybody line up to help you now. 😂
  7. Hey @Dan BNRyou might want to ask for pics of these wheels in the Cosmetic or General sections. This ad is 8 years old. https://www.sau.com.au/forums/forum/7-general-automotive-discussion/ https://www.sau.com.au/forums/forum/157-cosmetic-styling-respray/
  8. Welcome! Yeah I need pics too. Who doesn't love a good Z project?!
  9. Oh man I would have been so worried that I'd broken something. Good to hear it's still running and like the others said hopefully it's fine. It wouldn't surprise me if some water did get in and simply burned away which is why you lost some power but not enough to lock it up.
  10. Welcome Brad! I love a good Stagea!! You'll have no probs hitting 350HP without going into the engine. Decent cooler, turbo upgrade (maybe even just high flowed? Others on here can confirm), more boost, full exhaust, maybe ECU and cam gears will get you close. Will you have any probs taking her home?
  11. Hi Mal and welcome to There is a lot of info directly relevant to your questions already on the site. You should try a few searches first and then ask maybe some more specific questions. Lots of people have done everything you're trying to do in more ways than one. Its all on here. Good luck! Christian
  12. I think if you're buying a Skyline or, really, any 90s/00s car for it to be the best thing since forced induction you're getting it all wrong. You buy one of these cars because you want one of these cars. If you want the best car for the money and bang for your buck is important, get something else newer, faster, less rusty. But don't compare them.
  13. Welcome! I love Stageas. Had one a while back. Is yours a manual or auto?
  14. Why are you posting here if you got your questions answered elsewhere? If you're looking for somebody to tell you what you want to hear then you should just do what you want. If it was me I'd be going nowhere near it. But, I'm not 15 and it could still be a cool project car. Leave the RB20 until you can afford to drop a 25 or 26 into it maybe.
  15. Thanks so much for that Martin, got some new things to try out now. The car is an auto but with really good paddles. Its had a transmission flash and the revs blip with downshifts so no real drop in revs. Its surprisingly good. Good to know I dont need to heel-toe because i'm rubbish at it
  16. Damn, thats great advice, thanks! I definitely think that I'm jumping off the brakes suddenly. I think everything I do with the brakes is sudden movements. I brake late and as hard as I can but then I'm too committed to have time to get off them slowly, I quickly release brakes and steer. I don't think I'm applying any acceleration until I'm mid corner. Do I need to be able to heel-toe here or is the easy brake release and slight trail braking over before I start to accelerate? BTW, I swapped front and rear track wheels to see if the wider 255 rears would fit the front and they do. I drove around the block and did some big lock turns and no scrubbing at all. Car felt really stable. So, I might try to get a second set of my wheels and mount the new rears to the front to use a square 255 set up.
  17. Holy smokes! Thats some serious cost.
