  1. I'm running Wiseco forged pistons, apparently they're RB30ET pistons and my head has been decked to up the CR but with a neo head they would give a good CR or so I'm told. Pretty sure you can't get Nismo bearings for RB30's and the main journals I believe are bigger than 25/26. I'm using NDC bearings, others use King or ACL with no problems. Some people (especially the kiwis) seem to push their stockish bottom ends pretty damn far!

  3. ^^ I would imagine the head AND the manifold (head at the front, manifold in the middle). My bonnet rubs on the top lip of the timing belt cover (that goes over the backing plate) and the front corner of the intake manifold.. if the 30et is any taller then you'll have mucho problems with stock manifold!
  4. Yes you can use an R32 radiator if you have a 25 in there, R32 GTR radiator fits too. Also keen on pics of your thermo setup Dahtone

  6. At the very, very least build a twincam 30 with the 20 head. Or, do it properly with a 25 or 26 head.

  8. I thought the crownwheel bolts were a different diameter between 32 and 33, I had a bit of a jerk around when trying to change ratios and ended up getting an S13 centre.
  9. He has an R33, their HICAS is electronic not hydraulic (there is also no seperate "HICAS fluid" to top up in R32's, it runs off the power steering circuit).
  10. ^^ nice, there was no noticeable difference in handling between the 20 and 30 so I figured it was negligible.
  11. I think M-spec had stuff like bigger brakes (at least they did in 32s) and I think you'd be hard pressed to find a GTSt in Australia that ISN'T M-spec..

Because of the small turbo I don't have huge revs to play with but it comes on so early that I rarely need to go past 5000rpm on the street anyway, it's a very nice motor for daily traffic grinding.. leagues ahead of the RB20! I suspect mine might become less of a daily when GT35R+screamer is on but I'd like to hope not
  13. I went last night with my mates, 3 of us completed the 1kg challenge.. I smashed it in and came first, my wee little mate also smashed it in - we went the 1kg rumps.. other mate copped out and went the 1kg T-bone (/fail) and felt peer pressured to finish after we smashed it in. He nearly yakked all over the table, the waiter was in hysterics and I feel sorry for his mrs and the taxi driver I'm not faring too badly but at this point in time, I can't even contemplate doing it again! But my photo is now on the wall lol

  15. Superchump and Malz will just have odds and ends. Justjap have whole piping kits for specific cars, I'm sure some of the other performance stores will do too.

One day I wanted to see if I could spin in the wet and shift up quickly through the gears.. made to 4th gear before I decided it was too silly and shut her down (that's with only 250rwhp and sticky tyres.. TORQUE FTW!) P.S. ceffie, what sort of revs are you dialing in to take off in 5th? I definately wouldn't be able to do that with my 3.9:1 diff gears

Less of a challenge to keep it straight? maybe in the low revs Turbo isn't going on till after Xmas got a track day mid-December and also need car going for Boxing Day Burnouts so not going to starting pulling things apart till after then.. trying to get things done for events usually ends in tears Will be putting a High Energy Pro-circuit sump on along with an oil return from the head and a new radiator before the track day (also just put a new waterpump and thermostat in ready for summer+burnouts).
  19. Many moons ago when I still had HICAS and it fubar'd itself, it would do this - does the car get a bit squigley you floor it and get to about 80kmh? It would also tilt the wheel to the same angle but on the opposite side when I reversed out of the driveway.
  20. My 2-way is really tight and skips like crazy when turning at slow speed under load, my tyres don't wear out from the skipping.
  21. RWD conversion? Because the GTS4 box behind the RB20 isn't the same as the RWD RB20 gearbox.. I didn't have any problems (other than the input shaft bearing dying) with my old RB20 box behind the 30, was also using a clutch that came off an RB25.
  22. Should be able to get return flights for under $400.. take that off the 2.5k, $50/night motel room, 1.5k for the r&r and you should still have some cash left to take DirtGarage to the strippers and get him pissed

  24. ^^ that's the only time I would be replacing the fpr.. not much call for adjustable ones if you size your injectors correctly
