Haha, nah I understood what you were saying. What I don't understand is the concern with this automatic switching. It ONLY uses petrol on a) cold start or b) empty LPG tank. How difficult is it to keep track of your LPG tank level? About as difficult as with the normal petrol gauge. Why not simply have a 98 tune on your piggyback so you can pull over, flick a switch to change from the LPG tune to your petrol tune, then carry on? I honestly don't see how this can be such a concern. What am I missing?

It only changes on startup and when the LPG is empty. I believe it is setup so only 1 type of fuel can be sent to the injectors - sorta like a "T" shaped 1-way valve. Since the majority of LPG available from pump is anywhere from 100-103RON (Supagas have 110RON guaranteed "premium" LPG) you should be fine. Have the guys that put 95RON in their Stageas and given them a little squirt blown up their engine's?

Nope. The lpg injectors "piggyback" on the standard injectors, hence the matching of flow rates

On most LPG setups, they put the filler next to the petrol one. Seems to be enough space in the M35 one.

Modified X-trail system.... or was it the WRX system that was made to suit? There is another system out there called Liquajet which is made by Alternative Fuel Innovations. Unfortunately they do not go into detail about their system on the website If you want to find out more about this system, talk to Ash and Frankston Gas Conversions (03 9786 1546). I don't know the differences between the JTG (European design) and the Liquajet (from all accounts an Australian design) systems, but when speaking to Ash, he was more than happy to install a Liquajet system to suit your power requirements (I was asking him for around the 600hp mark - no probs for the injectors, just need a second pump in the tank). I think it was written by a well informed, professional who clearly knows all there is to know about all models of Stagea. I was, however, shocked to read that "The Nissan Stagea is a station wagon which was originally produced by Nissan"
