  1. They won't have the wheel bearing assembly's unless you have ordered them as the M35 does not share these with any locally delivered Nissan. They are a fully sealed unit, so no re-greasing. They are a "pop on" unit and the dealership mine went to had to make a tool for the job. FYI, the Nissan dealership I took my M35 to get the passenger side wheel assembly done quoted me $211. They mistakingly quoted that price for part & fitment and did honour it, but that price is actually for the part itself. Best of luck with the stalling though.
  2. Correct! "Filters ain't Filters". They can vary by the filter element surface area, whether they have anti-drain back valves, construction quality and materials, magnetic walls and, probably more importantly, construction material of the filter element and flow rate. A few of the better filters are starting to implement a nano molecular structured filter element which filters as well as cellulose but allows more oil to flow through. See the Amsoil site (above) for a good explanation... Also look at their air filters ( http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaa.aspx ). I put one in my car and it now revs right through redline without running out of puff.
  3. Who's putting an $8 filter on? I used to use Ryco filters years ago when I didn't know any better. I would give the Veruspeed filter a go, but at $29 + shipping, why would I stray from K&N or Amsoil (~$20)? http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eao.aspx - Amsoil filter #EAO12 http://www.knfilters.com/oilfilter.htm - can't remember filter number, sorry Well, you should be able to notice a change in how the car runs... For example; Mobil 1 - car "felt" and sounded quite loose and did not have that "get up and go" Motul 8100 Excess - "felt" like it was not lubricating completely, took it out after ~850kms (1 week), smelt burnt and left a "mass" behind that came out when I put the Amsoil engine cleaner through it... will never touch that sh*t again. Amsoil 10W40 - Felt much better than the Mobil 1 and 8100. Car seemed to want to rev. No complaints. Penrite Syn - Car felt "smothered". Engine seemed to have ALOT of difficulty getting the revs up. I have been told that it is a thick oil, but that was ridiculous! Came out after 1500kms. Castrol Edge - See Mobil 1 without the "loose" feeling Shell Helix Ultra - See Castrol Edge Royal Purple - See Amsoil Motul 300v Chrono - Only negative is price. Car LOVES to rev, is very responsive and has more "get up and go" than the other oils. Engine runs very smoothly. Just "feels" good overall. Have been using it for the last 35,000kms. Looking at trying 300v Power Racing due to it being 5W30 - much closer to Nissan's 7.5W30 mineral oil (I won't use Mineral oil). Hope that helps you understand why I spend a bit extra on my oil (change every 10,000kms since putting in 300v). I also like the theory behind the Amsoil oil filter and the K&N filter just seemed like a high quality unit (just pick one up, you will know what I mean). Remember, you are trusting a filter to remove the crap that can get into and possibly damage your engine so why not spend the extra $12 on a high quality filter? Oh, and no, I cannot "feel" the difference between oil filters.
  4. Not bad. Definitely different.... good to see!
  5. I love 'em, but wouldn't buy one. Would prefer to pay off mortgage + 100k into house "improvements", buy wife an Evo and put ~80k into transforming my 250t into a 450TT with the money I would spend buying a Murcielago. ....heh, anyone would think that I have played the "if I won lotto" game a couple of times....
  6. Maybe you should get an iPod 'cause your wife is going to be talking about the Dyson in very excited tones for a while. Can't go past a Honda mower... VTEC?
  7. Yes the oil filter you should be using is a Z445. I currently use the K&N oil filter. Any autobarn should be able to get it for you. Otherwise, look at an Amsoil efficiency oil filter, I have used them as well and it was quite good. Prefer the K&N though... Nissan themselves use a 7.5W30 (mineral) oil in their servicing so you should be right with that. I am using Motul 300v Chrono (10W40) at the moment, and it is a bloody good oil. The car goes much better on this than when I used Shell Helix Ultra, Mobil 1, Syn, Castrol Edge, Royal Purple, Motul 8100 or Nulon. It is even better than the 10W40 Amsoil that I also tried. My advice (if you want it)? Spend the extra $$ and get the Motul 300V (either 5W30 or 10W40) and get the K&N filter. Change every 10,000km's (maybe more in an N/A?). You won't regret it.
  8. hmmm, dunno about that. I do Love the Murcielago though...
  9. What size wheels are you using Jules?
  10. 3.5 N/A is available for compliance, but since the M35 has been such a "slow mover", there are no workshops that want to put the $30k+ into getting it. I for one would prefer the 3.5 as it's parts (and MODS) are the same as V35/350z... Can you imagine an M35 with a 450+kw turbo kit from the 350z? Mmmmm all that power with AWD grip and a "prestige" cruising wagon.... as one Stimpson J. Cat would say "I, have a dream...." If I win lotto, I will pay for one to be done (thus open the gates for others). That is for sure!
  11. ... and here I was thinking that we have already paid for it with interest over the past 13 years... ... I still think that 1 initial payment to "the people" and then tax cuts would have helped our economy in the long run. I know I would be happier to spend if I had an extra $50-100 per week in my pocket than a $900 lump sum. Back On Topic; Looks like I will be putting the money in to help with the house deposit (the land is ours already )
  12. Nope. M35 Stagea was JDM only. They can be bought in Australia and NZ as far as I know.
  13. Yep. Story of my life!... explains alot really
  14. Where are you getting this software from & how much? Does it plug into the Consult connection?
  15. Well, I just bought a Mishimoto radiator & trans cooler, so I guess I will have to put the money back on the card. Might get my oil line looked at with the remainder If not, I guess a Mishi FMIC and eManage install would be good!
  16. Well, I have just been talking to Trent from Status Tuning down here in Melbourne's South East. Since I have an eManage Ultimate I have been talking to him about which way to go. Here was his last reply (quick sum up) "To be honest i reckon you could get 95% of the result with the emanage ultimate (get the optional map sensor and harness) the Vipec/Link install will require far more work to get right or even to the same point as the emanage. The auto control is the trickiest part and the emanage seems to integrate pretty seemlessly. What size turbo are you looking at? and eventual target AWKW? as these two really determine the best ecu direction. say 250 as a max and i would go the emanage route, say 300 and up and the extra work with the LINK/VIPEC would pay off in the long run" Hope that helps guys. If you need to go the eManage Ultimate, there are usually a few floating around in the For Sale threads.
  17. Guess you don't have a family.... or like to drive your mates around!
  18. I think that it is good... Same as mine. Only difference being that I bought my PA11-NIS from eBay (US $114 shipped) and did it myself. Took about 2.5 hours as the G35ipod site was down so I had to figure out pulling the interior apart myself. So paying a pro $250 to do it sounds like a pretty good rate if you ask me. Yes it does charge your iPod... Even when the car is turned off, so make sure you unplug it when you go to work! Wouldn't change it at all as it can be controlled via the head unit or the iPod. *just make sure that your music is in Lossless format - mp3 is terrible* (as a bonus of DIYing, I changed the tiptronic shift while I was in there).
  19. mmmm.... Looks like fun!
  20. Yeah, I have spoken to Herman as well. They were using the 350z standalone ECU as a piggyback initially. Cheap one is the "Interceptor", medium is the e11 (I think) and the expensive is the 350z Platinum. He stated that figures were roughly 10% increase in economy & 20% increase in power... I have also been told that I can expect at least that with an eManage Ultimate.... Fair bit cheaper too! Waiting on a response regarding the Vipec as it is stand alone also. Will let you know.
  21. Haha! Yeah the black one at SSV already had a kit on it, was lowered and even had big chrome deep dish rims! Looked fantastic! Not really quick enough for my missus though... Anyone got a cheap Evo they want to get rid of?
  22. Having another look... Sorry, can't help it. Those are not stock M35 doors either.
  23. Yeah, I stopped in 2 weeks ago and there was a VERY NICE black one sitting there. It was their test vehicle and "a guy" has already bought it. The salesman (can't remember his name) said that it should be ready in a few weeks (from now). Oh yeah, I was surprised at how big the Cube is though. Still trying to convince my Mrs sell her Magna and get one...
