  1. needs a smidge more castor dialled in to the front perhaps?
  2. Check out your graphics card Mine did this a year ago, and when I put my head inside to see what was going on, the fan from my graphics card landed on my head. It had melted off and the mobo was shutting down due to the heat.
  3. ZOMG! I am in!!!! Please? Carn, you can't deny Teh Fury can ya? *edit* The ASAA form needs to be signed by a club official who is known to the ASAA. Who do we use for that?
  4. I am only going to cover safety here, but having t-boned a wrx at 60kph with both my daughters and my wife in the car, and we all walked away without a scratch. There are also photo's of a lot more violent smashes on this site than mine, so as far as safety is concerned, I would probably trust a stagea more than any domestic wagon. Oh, and don't bother looking at any M35 over 2002. You can't get them past the EPA cert for compliance.
  5. personal fav is the 250 LM, but I like the new one...
  6. seconded! Any chance of you uploading a hi-res shot of that turbo on the boil? Please?
  7. dude, if you are planning on waiting for the police to make a move, don't bother. You will need to apply under the freedom of infomation act just to be informed wether or not he was issued with an infringement, and I can tell you from first hand experience that it isn't very likely. Mainly because if he decides to take it to court, the police can't prosecute on just the accident report. Hassle him like crazy to lodge his claim with the insurance mob (I would suggest at least twice a day - seriously!), and tell him that once he gives you a claim number he will never hear from you again. After that happens, it will be between you and the insurance co. and that is where things are going to get nasty, because they are proper scumbags to deal with yourself. If you don't contact them on behalf of anther insurance co, they will do all they can to deny any and all claims, and it will be solely up to YOU to get them to admit liability. This is not going to be easy, especially with no witnesses, but it is doable. You will just need to stick to your story, collect any physical evidence you can (angle of impact from the collision, lots of photos of the place it happened, including any marks on the road etc) and at all times, make it VERY clear to them that you are willing to take this all the way to the small claims tribunal. If you need any clarification on this, drop me a PM, I went through the same thing with my stagea last year, and I know how gut wrenching this experience can be, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
  8. +11ty for joining Teh Pulsar Fury Brigade All the cool kids are doing it (N15 SSS is the one I would recommend, it will make losing the stagea a little less heart breaking if you don't have to go all the way down to a GA16 *shudders* SR20 goodness FTW!!!)
  9. Crivens! Well, I would go the gates kit over the std Nissan one anyway, and it is a shizen load cheaper too. $260 with a power grip belt and $380 for the Racing belt, but you don't get a water pump (you get everything else you listed apart from the bearings?) Exactly what "bearings" are you reffering to? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ga...-2-t182626.html
  10. +1 but don't get drilled DBA's. The slotted ones will be more than enough and a lot less prone to cracking.
  11. LOL apprentices get paid shit money, get their asses ridden by all the TA's and Tradies, and get all the crap jobs to do. Deal with it! Srsly d00d, I am not trying to put a downer on you, but that is the way of the world. Just grit your teeth, concentrate on learning and worry about it at the end of your time. No matter how awful it may seem, it is SO worth it, and all the injustices you suffer as an apprentice, you will get to inflict on n00bs yourself later in life. Once you have a trade ticket in this state, the world is your oyster.
  12. Try and get down to Freo to check our Peter Bigg's motor meuseum. It may be the last chance you get to see one of Australia's greatest motoring collection (his lease has been terminated with no other site found, so most of the cars will be getting sold or going into storage) His other meuseum in York is also worth a look if you do deceide to "do" the swan valley.
  13. OK For a timing belt service I would personally recommend timing belt Idler and tensioner pulleys all 3 front belts coolant engine oil spark plugs Options would be Trans oil diff oil water pump. Now, the coolant is a must, because you can't get the harmonic balancer off without pulling the radiator out (well, it may be possible, but it certainly wouldn't be adviseable) The water pump is a bit of a personal choice. The pump is actually behind the timing belt, so it makes sense to do it at the same time, HOWEVER they are actually pretty hardy units and I have seen quite a few pumps do 200 000kms without a drama. The last belt I did we yanked the pump, and the owner was a bit cut to see the one that came off was still like new inside, but as we had the new one there we put it on anyway. CRD (damn, wish they had a spotters fee ) do a gates kit that includes the timing belt, both pulleys and crank and cam seals which I have used to good effect a couple of times, so that would be my recommendation. Plugs, oil and the like are very much a personal choice thing so I will leave that up to the owners. Only special tool required is a proper harmonic balancer puller, and I would suggest that EVERYONE (especially Neo owners) check the threaded holes in their balancer before the event and make sure you can get a bolt into them before the big day. Non neo's should be OK because you can use the top bolts out of the timing cover, but in Neo's the bolts are too short so you will need to find some that fit, and are at least 2" long with as much shft thread as possible. Um, thats about all I can think of now, any questions?
  14. I don't need to work on my car, but I am happy to come down and swing some spanners. I have done a couple of Neo and non Neo RB's so I have half an idea. I can also bring my box along if we need tools.
  15. That really depends on exactly what you are doing though. Up until Feb this year I spent 4 years working under various agency's and their payment arrangements have always been completely seperate from my rate of pay. Market rates will determine what you earn usually, and most agencies work off a percentage of your gross pay, but like I said, it may depend on what you do (I am a mechanical designer/drafter)
  16. well, at least you are consistant. Your pissweak attempt at a reply is no less of an epic fail than your normal posts. I was kinda hoping for a challenge. *snaffles joint and retakes position in the peanut gallery*
  17. I'm not done yet, this is way too much fun. *shrug* the fact of the matter is, you have nothing to contribute to this (or any other) thread, your lack of knowledge, tact or usefulness as a human being classifies you as a complete and utter oxygen thief and your attempts to justify your arguments prove to me again and again that you are an uneducated, inarticulate waste of resources Oh, and excuse the f**k out of me for not being "down" with all the latest hip language you young folk of today use, but the fact remains that if you didn't insist on clogging up all the legitimate threads asking legitimate questions with your loud mouthed, bullshit theories then people would probably get useful stuff out of a search, instead of having to wade through pages and pages of you proving to the world exactly how much of a special needs bobble headed moron you actually are.
  18. LOL, go Ian I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that post was directed at me...Ergo, You aren't even worth the sustenance that can be scavenged from the rotting bowels of a dead bat in some subterranean abyss. Do your keepers a huge favor: commit suicide by flushing yourself down a toilet, you victim of mis-prescribed medication. As Ellen Glasgow once remarked: "He knows so little and knows it so fluently."
  19. Nah, I am not 100% sure what aussie crude is used for, but I doubt that would be the case. Because diesel is made from hydrocarbons with quite large molecular chains, diesel actually requires less thermal (or catalytic, but you don't NEED to use a catalyst for crap grade diesel) ) cracking than petrol. Also, it actually cracked from the distillate (the crud left over) after distilling the "higher" hydrocarbons such as napthra (the main aromatic associated with petrol - ie the stuff they use to raise the RON) propane and ethane, Ergo I think diesel could be taken from the really crap grade crude that even petrol wouldn't be worth extracting from.
  20. LULZ!!!! Nah, its just that this question has been asked before and a shitfight ensued that was quite entertaining. Having said that, welcome to teh peanut gallery. Can I borrow that pic of Aunt Mary? Popcorn?
  21. Mardi Gras at Hughs place? Im in!!!
