I can't believe we now have them using 'schumacher-esque' to describe button. ffs MS has won, what? 5 WDSs in a row at one point. how many has button won? farking none. (yet). give me a break. MS re-set just about every bloody lap record and championship record there is. button was a contender for the most races entered without scoring a bloody win. sure he's winning now... in a car that absolutely smashes any of the other cars out there by any measure you can come up with. bravo... and go webber! I liked the interview in the pre-race show. he said something like "yeah sebastian is often quick, but sometimes this old dog shows him a thing or two". well vettel has out qualified webber at nearly every race this year, yet webber has beaten him home 5 out of 7 times. sit and think on that one RBR management. my real fear now is that webbo will get dropped for next year now that they finally have a good car they can have their pick of drivers to steer it. come on guys, give webber some pay back for the years that he spent toughing it out and developing the team and car. give him at least 1 more year to make something happen now that he finally has a decent car. I mean the bloke is 4th in the WDC for crying out loud.

yummy! the ikeya front LCA's are a piece of gear! it's hard to capture in photos how nice they are, and how different compared to stock. you should get a photo of one next to a stock LCA and castor rod for scale.

Osg 5 Speed Issue
Beer Baron replied to Mr. Keets's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
the AGY 690 box is very nice. they are two kind of different things though. you can have OSG gearset with the AGY synchros. the AGY SS690 is a stock gearset but with new dual cone synchros where as the OSG set does not replace any synchros, it's just gears that are different ratio and have a different tooth profile (still helical though) on the gears. AGY can build you one using OSG gearset and their own dual cone synchros that has the best of both. they also do rebuilt/modded transfer cases which are worth doing as they do get a bit tired after 10 years+ of use. plus they have the 690R versions which have different ratios too. I haven't tried their extreme one which has a first gear that would take you to about 130kph! but I'm sure they are good too. get pretty exxy though. their hardcore one is super close ratio. would be great for drag and probably good circuit box too as you could use first on slow corners. -
depends which one? there are a few big time attack events there throughout the year. but I'm guessing you mean the rev speed magazine super lap battle? the one that mark and russ took their 32 too? if so, there is no date set for it yet. they are a bit half arsed when it comes to planning. it will probably only be set a month or two before hand.

Rb26 -how Do You Get Good Hp Numbers From Tuning ?
Beer Baron replied to 555kkk's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
did the tune with lower power really feel like it had half the power of the others? did you re-set the power FC each time before going to the next tuner? that would be the way to go, see what each of them can do with the same starting point. cause if they are all just building on each others tune then it's hard to draw any conclusions. -
car sounds and looks sweet! driver should stick to drag racing I think.... teehee.

basically the 'costs' in japan should not exceed 200,000yen. that is all the FOB charges. so includes transport from auction house to storage, de-registration, organise shipping, take car to docks etc. mostly it's around 150,000JPY but can be as cheap as 100,000 oras much as 200,000. but 1,000,000 is out of this world.

Suspension Allignment?
Beer Baron replied to Birds's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
you run toe in on a drift car? hmmm. -
not quite. they had to sell their products to the public. previously m-speed was just a workshop that built their own time attack cars for the owner. as most of the events they enter are for tuning shops the other shops were not happy that m-speed did not build customer cars, nor tune or manufacture tuning parts for sale. they have not been banned. but they did decide to start selling some of their products to the public to keep people happy.

that's the problem. you wont know till you bolt it on and try it. the only real way to learn it trial an error. you will almost certainly port a lot of heads that end up worse than they were standard before you start getting them right. which is why it's important to go somewhere that has done lots of RB26 heads as every engine is different.

yes, I've had my fill of GTR for the moment. I would love to trade from cash for it though! Hopefully someone will come and take this baby off my hands. I really want to start playing with the silvia and GTR again but it's hard to get motivated when I still have the FD sitting here begging for attention.

glad you like them there are lots more I promise, I am just a slack bastardo. they are all on my old PC hard drive which has been put into a (un-reliable) external case. and cause the bloody thing keeps dropping connection transferring the pics is far less fun that it should be... one day.... I promise!

Illegal Import Help!
Beer Baron replied to vice5500's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
the real crime here is trying to sell a R34 GTT for $20,000!!! lol. -
Chris, the thing is systems like the nismo one are still plumbed to the intake. so they operate under vacuum. what the do is seperate the nasty vapour with the unburnt fuel gas in it from the oil. they scrub the oil. the oil drains out the bottom of the tank, all the vapour and unburnt fuel etc gets sucked into the intake and is burnt in the combustion process. in my eyes it's not ideal but it's not exactly a death sentence for an engine to run that type of set-up either.
-
you've answered your own question. the nismo AFMs are the way to go. bolt straight up to stock piping, plug straight in to stock harness and easy to tune with Power FC.

Gtr Pod Filters - Hks Or Apexi - Whats Your Preference!?
Beer Baron replied to KR4-GTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
the HKS ones are rubbish. they are the worst. I've used them. over time, with heat and fumes they disintegrate. if you like the high flowing mushroom type pod then the trust ones are much better and are a nice dual layer foam element so they actually filter something too. the apexi pods are great and are washable. if worn a new pod is about $80 but if you look after them they will last years. and yes I've used on my own GTRs, stock airbox, apexi panel filter, K+N panel filter, ARC airbox, K+N (Ms) pods (they are great), Apexi pods, trust mushies and HKS mushies. the best are the Ms branded K+N pods or the Apexi pods. the worst were the HKS mushies. ARC airbox is ok, but it's bloody heavy. and is still sucking air from the same place pods do. so I go the pods as they have much greater surface area. -
teehe. Be it or high end, it never stop igniting your combustion!!! it's how I live.

Cams - Replacement Roof Section
Beer Baron replied to Nismo_Boy's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
i have a feeling that most early 90s nissan factory fitted sunroofs will be the same shape panel. I'll measure up the silvia for you. if it's the same you could market it to S13 guys as well. -
now back to merli's build. I have 2 teaser pics. but merli will have some even better ones to come... and this is the phrase I'm having tattooed onto my butt. It's my favourite old time japanese saying, from our friends at Trust.
-
you rang? here is a couple for teasers. I didn't make last years superlap but I did go in 07 and it was there then. great car and yes it has some re-designed suspension to enable it to have such a low ride height. it is literally touching the ground a fair bit. if anything the suspension set-up on Marks R34 is even better. I only have a couple of my pics on my work PC. Daz might have some better ones he can post and things might have moved on since 07? i'm not sure.
