  1. nismo slave most likely wouldn't fix disengagement problems as the nismo slave actually has short throw than a stocky. most like the problem is one of 3. damaged/bent fork. damaged/broken bearing carier (sometimes the little ears snap), damaged or broken clutch cover/pressure plate. the bummer is that pretty much all means gearbox off to diagnose.
  2. sadly, if it happens intermittently it's most likely, a damaged/bent clutch fork, or damaged bearing carrier, or worse damaged pressure plate. that is why sometimes it's fine, and sometimes the clutch wont disengage.
  3. mate, if that is the real price, for a nismo, supper coppermix, twin plate clutch, brand new. I will seriously grab a couple of them.
  4. post some pics of the ARC cooler and ARC header tank system I sent up! I want to see the cooooler.
  5. power FC will not regard timing with knock of 10, 20, 60 or even 100. only the standard ECU will retard timing based on feedback from the knock sensors (and of course sometimes when they are faulty the stock ecu will retard timing even though there is no actual knock). again, power FC will NOT retard timing due to knock (real or faulty).
  6. lol, you give kimi far too much credit for deviousness. though he has been seen hanging around that michael schumacher chappie.....hmmm.......
  7. only 1 in 20 car thefts results in someone getting cauht so don't hold your breath. sadly these days you have a bigger chance of geting herpes than getting caught stealing a car in sydney...
  8. and number 4 reason: 4/ since on the dyno you are not actually driving, you can focus all your attention on the gauges, AFR, revs, dyno load and tuning and not worry about hitting people, cars, trees etc. 5/ on the dyno you can legally and easily drive to any speed you want, so it's a simple matter to load it up in 4th and 5th gears which is impossible on the road without breaking any laws and difficult on the track as duncan mentioned.
  9. jeff B has copies of the fibreglass bars he has on all his race GTRs for sale. personally not a big fan of the look, but i'm sure it's lighter than a stock bar by a fair bit.
  10. hmm muppet hack eh? that is a tad rich. there is a whole list of insults that could be levelled at you my friend but 99% of people on the forums wont post something they wouldn't say to someones face. I would wager you wouldn't tell troy to his face that he is a part time know nothing muppet, nor would you call him cheap so perhaps a little reconsidering of your on-line behaviour is in order. also, it's becoming quite tiresome you constantly posting the same thing over and over again. I'll now refrain from any further debate with you on this as to be honest I'm completely sick of it. hamilton fked up, the stewards penalised him. that's it. end of story. deal with it and move on mate. as for djr81: "I dunno. I don't reckon you get to make an overtaking move & have anything in reserve. It just doesn't work." you can in a Maclaren!
  11. he couldn't stay behind kimi because he was making a massive lunge from a long way back with nothing in reserve to allow himself to pull in behind should his move not be completed. so he cut the corner and but doing so gained track position. had their been a wall there he would not have been able to make that huge lunge under brakes. that is where he gained all the time.
  12. just to make sure. you do realise that oil pressure goes up as reves go up, and goes down when revs go down right? so it's quite normal to see oil pressure at 1bar at idle, then 6 bar under high rpm. or even 8 bar+ if the engine is cold.
  13. lol, I admit the statement doesn't make much sense reading it back. they have had problems with the car not performing well on old fuel, but I don't think they had that problem that night. hope that clears up what I meant. sometimes I type like I am almost illiterate. brain faster than hands. but I stand buy the fact that the old fuel isn't even fun to sniff. for personal flavour I like avgas, it's cheap, they sell it at the track and cams give you a little book so you can buy some. I guess it's like VB vs asahi! *note do not sniff race fuel, high in carcinogens...
  14. lol, fk me dead "Mr Sunoco". I'm not saying Russ's car was having any problems on the night with fuel, or flux capacitor or anything else. it certainly wouldn't have run as well as it did. You seem to be very defensive about that. so I'm sorry, reading my post I can understand why you may think I was making some excuse (though for what and why I have no idea?!) but I can see why you might think that. so I will state again, that's not the case, i'm sure on the night the car was sweet as a nut, the air was clean and pure and the fuel was fresh and tasty. but telling me that fuel that has gone off is still better than pulp is just plain nonsense. doesn't matter what brand, sunoco, elf, vp, whatever. once it's gone mate it's only good for doing small arson jobs with. and yes of course if it's tightly sealed and stored correctly it will last a fair while. but sometimes people make mistakes, sometime the drums fuel comes in do not seal well once you've cracked open the factory seal. fuel gets carted around from meeting to meeting etc. I have personally had this problem. we have had it go off so bad the car would barely run at all. and in a pinch we had to just drain the tank and use some servo grade pulp and what do you know? the car ran much better, and even better again with fresh race fuel. wow, I didn't think I'd have to go to such effort to explain such a simple to understand comment. anyway, if you still believe old gone off race fuel is better than pulp I may have some fuel for sale after I check the garage that you may be interested in!
  15. 32 and 33 are essentially the same. 34 are slightly bigger. USE GOOGLE or even the forum search. this question has been asked and asnwered time and time again.
  16. d'oh. I must be blind. I'm trying to find the post where I said sunoco makes fuel that is worse than pulp? maybe I wrote that in invisible ink. read again what I posted. have you never heard of fuel going off? we have had this problem for years. and it makes for a tough choice. do you pay through the nose for a 20L drum and use it fresh. or save money, buy the 60L drum, but if you meetings are a few months apart you often find the last 20L you use is no good, to the point of the car not even running properly. it's not just sunoco fuel, we've had that problem with other race fuels too. as I said, once it goes off you can see, smell and feel the difference. so if you deny that you are the one kidding yourself...
  17. good instructions but one small change, don't put the cap back on the resevoir. as it seals it up. you need it to be able to drain during bleeding. you can just rest the cap back on top to stop crap falling in, but don't screw it back on.
  18. agree with that. I have bought about 5 of them! 1 in the alfa race car, one in the 32, one in the silva, one in another alfa, one in my GTST, and I think I still have one lying around. just take out the little safety switch, then it's much easier to operate (just pull the cuff). there is still zero chance of you ever accidentally pulling it off. funny story. my friends GT3 cup car. another friend and I prepp'd and gave him track support for nearly 2 years in prod sports. his GT3 had a $500 sparco quick release. the spline type one. it was always a bitch to seat properly and sure enough one day he hopped in and didn't put it on. half way between turn 1 and 2 the wheel popped off in his hands. scary stuff. luckily no damage done and it was not during a race. his race suit needed dry cleaning though.
  19. nice one. yeah the canisters look pretty cool. I run some ohlins on my 32 which I like a lot and they have the remote canisters and more adjusments that I know what to do with. that is the danger of the 4 way damper adjustable shock is that you spend 12 months getting the right settings for the right track! my possible damper settings are 600 different combos per shock (30X20), X 4 shocks gives you years of head scrathing! like mine yours look to be all alloy body too which is nice for a bit of weight saving. I can't wait to see this bad boy up and running.
  20. steering wheel quick release and looks like a brake balance adjuster or line locker or rather a proportioning valve? and the exhaust heat wrap. rear lower arms rear upper arms rear traction rods front castor rods F+R sway bars water to air IC radiator radiator hoses brake kit coil over kit oil filter gauge adapter thing. that's about all I can clearly see.
  21. back in the maclaren garage lewey has his daddy who looks like some kind of car wrecking cartoon character waiting for him with a poppa of orange juice. back in the ferrari garage kimi has a team of super hot chicks with some bollinger waiting for him... you decide who's the real winner here.
  22. i have no idea how it works, but it would seem that your only chance of getting the single 3 month exceed demerit points suspension is to pay the remaining ones on the same day. then hopefully (for you) they will process those points as having been accrued on the same date so it's just the once 'instance' of exceeding your 7 point limit.
  23. yep at the end of the day there is one man who had the power to avoid all this nonsense it's lewis. he was catching kimi no question. and with the rain starting the chances of a mistake, or at least a drop in kimi's relative pace was looking pretty certain. so all he had to do was sit back and wait for the RIGHT place to make a move. instead he chose to try one from a long way back at a spot that is nigh on impossible to pass UNLESS the other party let's it happen (and no way is anybody going to LET you past for the race lead). he could have avioided all this crap by not cutting the chicane. troy, we both know webber would cane that little gyppo bastard they call heidfeld.
  24. I will freely admit my judgement is clouded by the fact that I can't stand hamilton. the real question is would I feel the same way if it were kimi cutting the chicance, winning the race, then copping the penalty?? we shall never know, unless kimi has a brain fade next race and tries some more 'creative' moves...
  25. exactly the point and exactly why he was given a penalty. HE GAINED AN ADVANTAGE BY CUTTING THE CHICANE. he gained a fair whack of track position which enabled him to make a pass at the next corner. everyone else can see it. the stewards can see it. it's only adam who can't or won't. he has done this before. any corner where there is run off instead of wall he will try this half baked, bold moves knowing that if the other driver doesn't roll over and play dead the way he wants them to he can always back out of it and drive nicely through the run-off area without losing any time.
