  1. the only real option you have is to buy another dump pipe. consider one of the large bell mouth type ones. tomei, trust etc all work well and I haven't seen any of them have this problem. the HKS copies like the JJ one seem to get this problem from time to time as the wastegate pipe is quite small any variance in manufacture can cause problems. although if you explain the problem to just jap they would probably give you another one to try.
  2. mate, people who buy up number plates they have no intention of ever using then attempt to flog them for a huge percentage profit are basically scalpers. they deny someone to buy what they want at the normal price, instead they get in first then charge a massive amount for something that cost them very little. I didn't say you shouldn't buy them because you don't have an R35 but explain to me how this dubious practice is any different to ticket scalping. it's a pretty low way to turn a quid. anyway you asked a question and I gave my answer and my opinion for free. anyone with more sense than money wouldn't bother but luckily for you there is bound to be at least one person out there with more cash than brains and they might give you some money for them. maybe this awesome plan really will make you rich and happy...
  3. fuc oath... ooops. swear jar.
  4. the coolant passage thingy that that bolt is scewed into does get blocked quite easily. a few RB26s i've seen had that problem. no water coming out the breather hole. you can replace that top coolant passage with a new one from nissan. not too expensive if memory serves me correctly.
  5. ok cool. I will have a look around. somewhere I do have a scanner that had a slide scanning attachment. there is a special attachment you need for it.
  6. I would reccomend finding or buying some proper stands and jack. having seen the number of people who die from putting the car on bricks, or up on a ramp, or up a gutter etc it's not worth the risk. from a report on jack related deaths. "There were 27 incidents identified where a vehicle killed a person who was working under it. Of these 27 persons killed, 20 were carrying out home duties (car repairs) and seven were regarded as being at work."
  7. hmm, I'm in sydney city. if you have the gear to do it I could almost certainly work the do-hicky and the thingamajig for you.
  8. still would make a good track car and be a good buy for $10-$12K providing it's ok otherwise. has all the hall marks of a drifter but it could be anywhere from a japanese posers car, to a hard core togue drifters car (meaning numerous 'offs'). or anything in between.
  9. yeah I think you might be spot on there. Everyone I speak to loves the Blue. Personally it's down the bottom of my favourite R34 GTR colours list. but I'm often the odd one out. I love the silver/grey, then probably white then red, then black, then probably blue after that then the gold and the green. yellow not even in the race for me... So I think really all I need is one other person out there who loves the grey! come on 34 buyers, be different, we don't need another blue 34 GTR on the road. who would have thought a grey car could make you stand out in the crowd! and in the flesh I think it looks so tough.
  10. no worries Julz, glad you enjoyed the pics. It's exactly what I wanted from the thread, just to share with people some experiences of japan centered around motoring type events. There will be more to come as I'm back off to japan very soon. and I still have lots of other pis I never got around to uploading, but now that I'm in my new place I may have some time to do it (yes I know I've said that before ).
  11. well my 7 is going good. motor feels nice and free now and not blowing any smoke at all, or using any oil or coolant. it's amazingly torquey. which was a real shock to me. even just putting around shifting at 4,000rpm it was still nice to drive but it really does want to rev.
  12. the new qualifying idea wa interesting. I think perhaps they should do this 2 X 14 lapper, then still run the top 10 shootout for the guys with the 10 highest points totals. it just adds a little bit of theatre and drama to the end of the day. I was happy to see skaife get a win, sorry that it was at lowndes's expense though. skaife must be the most hated bloke in V8 but I still love the silly old bugger. good on you skaifey! and Bathurst of course will be awesome. it wouldn't matter what you race there or who is driving it, bathurst is always worth some time on the couch.
  13. I will be a very happy man to see hamilton never win a WDC. his fist year in F1 would haunt him forever...
  14. hamilton was driving like a carnt with a nice car. he blew past most people like they were standing still, then when anyone tried to pass him he just ran them off the road. webber included. what a cock. webber was a few seconds a lap quicker, lewis went massively defensive, then squeezed him off the track. DOG. finally more people are coming over to my side of the street and realising that all lewis's goody goody talk is just that. talk. he has been a cnt since he first stepped into F1. and now perhaps people will realise that all that crap with alonso may not have been alonso's doing after all... i'm kind of pleased for vettel, but i've still never forgiven him for robbing webber of his best victory chance yet (and again it was half hamiltons doing that crash, and how convenient it took out webber from behind him who was seconds a lap faster....) I don't know what happend to webber in the middle stint? he should have been right up there with heiki looking at 3rd, 4th or 5th but it seems strategy again let him down badly. that is one thing RBR sorely need, some good bloody strategists making some good calls. people crap on about how good hamilton is, but vettel can win in a bloody STR at 21yo. I'd like to see hamilton do that. without his fancy car he'd just be another guy battling for 8th place with webber...
  15. personally I wouldn't pay anything for one. but sadly there are some really stupid people out there so you may actually make some money on them. pretty poor way to make some cash though. about on par with ticket scalping...
  16. actually they only come with a DSG twin clutch paddle shift gear box. small point but an important one as they are very different to any 'semi-auto' out there.
  17. someone buy me! still for sale. used it again the other day to move some furniture. great truck to drive, very good on fuel considering it's size. I'll drop the price down a bit for any SAU related buyer too so don't be shy.
  18. thank you. I have no idea why I haven't sold it yet. I know it's not the absolute cheapest GTR around, but it's certainly down the lower end price wise, and from my experience it's well near the upper end quality wise. sigh. well for now I'll just keep enjoying it.
  19. mate, if you think it's expensive and are worried the user wont sell it, then PM him with your advice. if you think it's expensive and are interested in buying it PM him with what you want to pay. if you are wanting to show how clever you are by posting a cheaper price keep it to yourself. either way DO NOT post stuff like this in peoples for sale threads. if you do it again your warning % will go up. this is your one friendly warning.
  20. can't afford a super licence any more. and besides, now that they charge 1 X 11ty mil euro per championship point I would be flat bloke with all those points I'd be winning. nasty. I'm fair happier steering my armchair.
  21. provoked? eh? as for you dundan: "well since I'm in a pedantic mood in this thread, the only competitors are the driver and the entrant (Ferrari cheaters inc or whatever they are called). But certainly it is the driver's responsibility to enter the circuit safely not the entrants." yeah I agree. the driver is the competitor, and I guess you would call the team the entrant. but the team have a bloke who is responsible to release the driver from his pit box safely. the driver relies on that bloke 100%. when he says nail it, the driver nails it. sure I agree the driver has to enter the circuit safely on his own smarts, but leaving his pitbox to get into the pitlane that timing is all up to the team. the driver can't see bugger all with a dozen blokes huddled around his car he just has to trust them that when they say go, he can go.
  22. he means they have the same piston size. which is what you were asking? they are not the same caliper as GTR brembos.
  23. yeah the live view has autofocus, but screen goes black, or with the other method it becomes quite slow. but, if you are switching to a DSLR you should be kicking the liveview addiction anyway. the 1000D looks like an excellent camera for it's price. i've owned quiet a few canon's and i'm a hack photographer but I loved them all. i've also had other brands and have been much less happy with them.
  24. i believe by 'competitor' they mean the team member responsible for releasing the car. the driver is not the only 'competitor' in the team and it most certainly is not the drivers call as to when it's safe to leave his pit box. that is just stupid. if it were up to the driver half the time they would be driving off with 3 wheels on, or half a tank of fuel etc. it's the crews responsibility to release the driver safely.
  25. yes troy, internals are only free if you're losing dumby. if you're winning almost nothing on your car will be not under protest... BTW, is it just the pics or the wheel nut to wheel fitment a bit howsitgoing? could be worth getting some different nuts that fit the taper of the wheels holes a bit better. car looks sweet as, and nice choice of seat... (yes I run the same )
