hey mate, nah have never had or been in a white charade. it is a red applause. UFQ 739 I think. car doesn't matter. it's not worth anything. my dad only kept it as it was not worth any money and I asked him to keep it for me to use for parts etc. carried gearboxes, engines, diffs, wheels etc. it was great for that stuff. I just want my diff back. it's going to be a bitch to replace.

lol, thanks guys. just quietly I turn 28 today and feel every bit the old cnt that I am. this birthday is on track to be amongst the most memorable for all the wrong reasons. I was woken up at 5:30am by some arse clowns outside my apartment, got a glass of water went back to bed not feeling so good. then at 8am I get a call from my dad (expecting happy birthday son). it's to tell me a car down the road from his house was torched at 5:30am and his daihatsu was stolen. no big deal you think, $1000 daihatsu, who cares? well my nismo pro 2 way LSD, with GTS4 4.375:1 diff gears all nicely set-up in a 32 GTR housing was in the boot. I'm pretty fcked now as I've already fitted the front GTS4 gears into my engine so car is not going anywhere now with rear GTR gears and front GTS4 gears (well except in RWD). I have no doubt the car will be torched and the theives never caught. Car thieves in NSW have more chance of getting struck by lightening than they do of being charged and convicted in NSW. Police will be on you like glue should you speed, or own a loud car, or commit a heinous crime like smoking a joint but car thieves, burglars and pricks who assault old people can live worry free on the dole in their comfy government housing getting drugged up on our tax sponsored welfare. Great system we have here. Anyway, enough of my moaning. Thanks for the kind wishes guys, it cheers the salty old baron up. weekend plans included getting drunk tonight and staying that way till monday night.

love the cage snowy. looks hot. you are still a butt pirate though... -
as far as I could see they only fly syd-cairns-tokyo? no direct flights, and none at all till mid december (i'm going next end of next month).
-
nismo festival 09 should be first week of december. date wont be set for a long time. they have not even run nismo festival 08 yet!!
-
nah, they fly syd-cairns-tokyo and before dec 18th don't fly to tokyo at all. and as you know good buddy I need something well before 18/12
-
lol. I'm talking about tokyo. no direct flights to tokyo. osaka is ok, but 90% of what I do and want to see in japan is in or around tokyo. so i would waste plenty of time and money by either getting another flight or a shinkansen from osaka-tokyo. and compare an airbus 330 with a 747-400 and I know which one I would choose. the level of service and comfort definitely makes a difference to me, plus the amount of frequent flyer point I accrue with JAL means a free return trip after only a few flights. anyway, I have never flown jetstar internationally. I have flown them domestic when I couldn't get seats on any qantas flights so i'm largely basing my experiences off those times. but i wasn't impressed. but you all have good points. if you can get flights for like under $800 return all up then that is damn cheap! the tax alone on the last flight I booked was bout $500-$600 so that leaves about $200odd on the air ticket! every time i've tried to book jetstar for a date i actually wanted to go it was not cheap enough for me to choose it. but I can see it makes OS travel an option for people who would not have otherwised considered it due to cost, and that is a good thing. the star dream thing dave is talking about sounds cool though, and their star class is much better priced than JAL or qantas business. I guess I just can't shake off my 'cheap' image of jetstar and my impression that cheap airlines scrimp on quality and safety (but I don't have any factual basis for that, just my paranoia!). so Jetstar away then!!! see you all in japan amongst a see of white people

they will fit "okay" but in my opinion not quite the right size or offset for a 32 GTR they will look too narrow for such a tall wheel. ideally you want a nice 18X9 +20. that will be perfect. also it makes it far easier with the 4WD if you stick to the same size and offset all round and use the same tyre size all round. also means you can rotate tyres front to back to get more life out of them.

lol, yes buy mine! it really is a nice genuine car with service history etc and no secrets! and considering the AUD has just wiped about 20% of it's value off against the yen the cost of importing a car has just gone up by a big amount. I'm keen to sell too, and you get to see, touch and maybe even drive it before expending a single cent. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ba...ll-t230835.html

yeah good luck Russ and Ben and good luck to Kel and Tony too. Pretty cool to have 2 R35s in the one competition.

Bang Noise Now No Boost! R32 Gtr
Beer Baron replied to joeleo87's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
what leak down test? i didn't see any leak down figures posted? he just posted the compression test results and none of them are 20% down, nor did he say 20% leak down (unless I'm going batty!). 10psi is only about 6 or 7% down on the other cylinders and that variance is acceptable. not perfect but still ok. Don't get me wrong, the engine may well be stuffed as it's quite common after the factory turbos fail, but so far the test results don't show anything... -
if you are looking at 18inch then 18X9 with offset between +30 and +18 will be suitable. or 18X9.5 with offset between +30 and +22 is good too. tyre size either 245 or 255 will be fine too. then you can chuck out your current mismatched wheels and frisbee the spacers over your back fence! the PCD is 5 X 114.3. a popular choice is R34 GTR wheels which come in 18X9 +30 and look great on a 32. they fit perfectly, are forged (so light and strong) and can be had for reasonable money. so you get these (my 34): and put them onto this (my old 32)

well I thought it was cheap too, but then their email quotes one way fares (the only airline I know to do that). so when I priced up star class return for any reaonable date it was $3,000 return. still cheap if it's as good as other carriers business class, but no where near as cheap as they advertise. anyway the big issue for me with jetstar is none of their flights are direct and their planes are old and shit. at least with JAL and Qantas you get nice, big, SAFE, NEW 747s etc, where as jetstar look to be using aircraft built some time around WWII... but I guess if you don't mind going at weird dates, and don't mind non-direct flights and having to buy food and luggage space then it's a good way to save money.

Hi, as long as it is registered in your name and you keep copies of rego, and receipts etc you can import it to aus as a personal import no problem. You will have to pay 10% import duty, and 10% GST on the 'value' of the car and the shipping costs. You will also have to pay luxury car tax if the vehicle is worth more than $57,180 (that tax is 25% of any amount over the $57,180 threshold). In 2-3 years time you should be able to argue that it's value is around the $70,000 mark or less. but that will also depend heavily on how much you originally paid for it in this country you call Asia...

not sure of the exact size of squre drive off the top of my head (it's metric though), but if you ring UAS ( www.nismo.com.au ), ask for john and tell him the beer baron told you to call he can tell you what size and maybe offer some more advice too.

The Offical Australian Launch For The R35 Will Be...
Beer Baron replied to Snowman's topic in R35 GTR
pretty competitive now that the AUD has taken a beating this last month. I have to say I think nissan's pricing is pretty good, so well done. they will sell plenty surely at this price. It may sound strange coming from me considering I have been responsible for the importing now of a few of them but I'm glad they are bringing them in (though I still wish we could import second hand ones under SEVS) and pricing them fairly. My only complaint is that they are so far behind the rest of the world time wise. They will have been on sale for nearly a year and a half by the time the first aussie customer is driving one which is a bit rough. I still hope to bring in one or two more before the end of the year but it looks like that will be the end of it. game, set, match to nissan! you win this round you handsome devils. -
no prob. I was just looking for some RX7 pic from Tsukuba and realised there is still a truckload of pics I haven't uploaded or barely even looked at. more to come soon. here are some of some RX7 from Tsukuba. Starting with the Pan Speed RX7. It is the grand daddy time attack RX7. Sounded insane. Shook the stand as it came past! NA 20B Cosmo. Weird choice for time attack car but very cool. and it was quick, around the 1min mark or just under. and sofa king loud! I think I am still deaf in on ear from it. R Magic RX8. I have to say the RX8s don't really do much for me, but if you had to have one you could do worse than this R Magic one. Fujita Engineering (AKA FEED) RX7. LOVED this one. Looked so nice. Probably my favourite colour for the FD (next to my pearl white RZ of course!)
-
sure thing mate. you are right they certainly are built for the more 'compact' gentleman. I love driving it, the sound it makes is sexual and can be heard in the next prefecture... lol.
-
farken awesome mate! well done. refresh my memory, what turbos are you running? you must be very happy with the results. edit: 315rwkw on just 10psi is awesome, and it looks pretty responsive too. i'm guessing 2530s or similar?
-
they are 280 ps turbos modified by pre-stage (similar to the knight sports twins). and mild ported engine. RX7 now:

pretty good summation. I agree with that. I was a bit sad when i read that kinkakuji (golden temple) was re-done in the 80s. and from memory had been rebuilt a few times after the original was burnt down by an angry monk or priest (memory hazy). Gion was pretty cool at night. eating in a very traditional style restaurant looking out the window at the real geisha complete with entourage making their way to and from appointments along the small cobblestone streets. it was easy to imagine life in kyoto many, many years ago.

nothing wrong with a bit of chinese flange. I prefer the japanese flange myself but don't want to offend anyone...
