  1. mate I'm really sorry to go OT here, but how did you get the ciggy lighter holder bit out of it's surround? I'm trying to replace my surround in one of my cars and the new one comes without the ciggy lighter socket, so I have to try and get the old socket out and put it into the new surround but I'm buggered if I can figure out how to do it without wrecking bits.
  2. just comparing that: to that both 32 GTR shafts. both from ACPT. but look a bit different. no idea which is any better though, or even if there is any real difference other than appearance....
  3. lol, sorry don't take anything I say as gospel! I'm only looking at the pics. just that I noticed it looks different on sort of glossy finish, the other sort of matte dry carbon type finish. but maybe justinfox ordered a different type of shaft. i've no doubt they shipped what they said they would.
  4. anyone else notice that justinfox's shaft looks very different to the other ones guys have got? it's hard to really tell for sure but his looks like a carbon tube with metal end caps where as the other glossy ones look more like a metal tube with carbon overlaid?
  5. this shattering flying shards thing is not really accurate. the main problem with most carbon bonnets not meeting ADRs is to do with pedestrian safety. normal bonnets are designed to absorb the impact of a pedestrian you hit. carbon or fibreglass bonnets wont behave in the same way under those conditions. yes another small danger is it can brake at the mounts and end up like a flying disk, or it can break into sharp pieces but the big one is the pedestrian safety.
  6. this sucks, it's not improving yet. looks like I might cancel my late november trip spewing I was looking forward to a few weeks in japan.
  7. yep, the mounting brackets un-bolt off the 32. they can be a cnt though on one side, passenger sdie I think it was. I did it once thinking it would be the easy way to remove my UCAs' ie just take them out mount and all. but sadly it's not! not sure if the 33 or 34 ones un-bolt or are welded. anyway, I know some places in japan have converted the 32s to 33/4 style front upper arms. I'm guessing (not sure) thouh that you'd need the 33/4 front uprights and maybe hubs too. but you may not need the hubs. There certainly should be some benefit in doing it. if you have a crack and makie it work let us know what you thought of it.
  8. still got this bad boy. now my freeloading mates are borrowing it to move house! help the baron out. spencer is out there right now terrorising people by using the exhaust brake milimeters off their bumper!!
  9. still for sale. I'm getting more motivated to sell now. so if you're in the market for a really neat, clean, straight, honest R34 GTR then give me a bell. I hardly get to drive this anymore and I just want to sell it! so I'll happily talk deal for any serious buyer.
  10. http://www.abrasiveflow.com/
  11. it's not genuine. there is no cut outs to allow for the stock wing. so definately not genuine, and not nismo. sorry.
  12. I know someone that has done it. apparently a few little differences (no idea what) but it's a very good idea to do it. GTST tank is rubbish and the number of rusty ones I've seen makes me sick. GTR tank is nice plastic.
  13. actually pro-engines also make a very good adapter plate that works very well and it retains an internal oil pick-up which is nice. http://www.proengines.com.au/sumpadapter.html
  14. they will most likely be very lightly touching. jack or hoist the car up off the ground and the front wheels should be able to be turned freely by hand. you will hear a light dragging/touching noise, but you should not be able to feel any brake drag.
  15. castrol edge is rubbish imo. they spend a shitload more on marketing and BS advertisments than they do on making good oil. the cheap motul oils like turbolight are rubbish. the 300V is 100% synthetic ester and is head and shoulders above anything else i've used. it's the top of the tree. most of the other so called synthetics are not a full synthetic and are blended rubbish. i put 300V in the legacy GT (JDM liberty GT basically) my mum drives! i put it in the lowly silvia which makes 230rwkw and needs a decent oil as it's running a trust turbo kit which relies on the engine oil for turbo lube and turbo cooling. and I have used it in the GTR(s) from day 1. never had a problem with any of them. I even did a UOA (used oil analysis) some time ago and the results were good. if you care about and value your engine 300V (in the appropriate weight) is the way to go. and the myth about it not lasting long as it's a race oil is rubbish. it's just a very good oil and will last longer than a poor one and still have all it's great properties (high film strength etc).
  16. mate, this thread is 6 years old. I know it's your first post on the board. but things have changed in 6 years. kindly try and limit your posts to threads that are current.
  17. yes well if they had their shit together they could have been selling them a year ago when everything was still tip top and by now would have aleready sold a fair few.
  18. and don't overtighten it for transport purposes! just fit it properly the one time. engine looks good. tomei 2.8 is a very nice bit of gear.
  19. nice cradle. far better than the one I had as a kid.
  20. don't forget that year long ago. I think it was 2007. a certain lewi homoton went into the last race of the season with a 7 point lead over his closest rival and finished that race without a WDC...
  21. yeah I guessed as much. nothing much on it would be worth keeping. shame, he should have just sold the wreck straight away 2 years ago. might have got 10-$15K for it.
  22. you are in the right part of the world to bring back the goods. lets all get rich quick or die trying. some rapper. i forget. but google will know. googled it. skee-lo.
  23. maybe I should just kill myself in this and get it over with cheaply? http://www.my105.com/classified.asp?id=8532
  24. what's the go with this? saker with a subie motor? I've always thought saker + V8 = goods. would be fun if you could get it rego'd as an ICV.... http://www.my105.com/classified.asp?id=7312
  25. i wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller. I wish I had a girl who looked good I would call her.... http://www.my105.com/classified.asp?id=8480
