  1. your car is only relibable because the accelerator has never made contact with the floor board...let me in there and we'll see how it goes, I reckon we get past about 7,000rpm and conrod shoots out through your fancy carbon bonnet. hehe, 4004 kw is a good effort from sam though...
  2. muhahaha, I have a nice mint condition set sitting here. sadly most 32s have them missing. but they are definitely worthwhile. I would say better than alloy steve. alloy is rigid. these can bend and flex which is good, and if they come off or break the alloy ones won't do any favours to your tyres or other bits, the factory ones are nice soft plastic/rubber. good gear if you can find them as they perfectly attach to the two ducts in the front lip.
  3. I have seen and yes even touched and looked inside the actual test mule that ran the times at the nurburgring. in honour of it's achievement nissan left it exactly as it was and brought it home to japan and let media crawl all over it at fuji. Now, I don't want to give the game away but it looked to me like it actually had an RB26 in there, hence the special times it ran at the 'ring.... teh 26 gave it it's super speeeed. aparently it was a stock 89 GTR motor too, but far superior to the new fangled VR. they said with the stock motor the plasma would shoot out of the exhaust at over 200km/h where as the RB26 enabled them to break the sound barrier on the long straights... sorry to let the cat out of the bag.
  4. $170K drive away (so including all on road costs, LCT, GST, rego, green slip the whole lot) is pretty sharp price wise I reckon. should be very competetive at that price. though I would have thought with the current state of the AUD we'd be looking at closer to $200K on road.
  5. yep, the in-car from the M3 and that of the GTR look surprisingly similar....hmm.
  6. lol. I literally did lol. receiptee. I have a new word of the day!! :laughing-smiley-014:
  7. lol. looks like maybe they just re-used some of the other in-car for the "GTR" footage. a bit lame...
  8. mate I don't know what you were wathcing but the in-car was clearly not a GTR and you cannot 'shift' with the stick... it looked to me like he was driving some kind of conventional manual? no idea what car though but it was a long way from an R35 for the in-car. just usual half arsed editing.
  9. ha ha, you guys are all awesome. but not as awesome as me. and with that in mind, the thread is closed.
  10. just buy one from nissan.
  11. fair enough. it will certainly keep you entertained until then. and all signs point to it being called a Spec V not a V-spec so the plates will certainly be accurate too...
  12. yep I can proudly say that it was the car that I imported for haltech/envy imports. It looked great, not sure how keen I am on their track though, but the GTR spanked the other cars they tested. GTR did 1:09, porsche 911 with TDK box did 1:11, lotus elise 1:12, M3 1:13 AMG merc of some kind was 1:13 too. The main point is I couldn't believe how exacting their copy is of top gear UK. right down to the set, and the little "all I know is he's call the stig" speil... I would have thought they could at least do something original. Anyway It was cool to see a car I imported featured on a mainstream TV show.
  13. tell us the price son!
  14. from nissan the headlights come complete with wiring and balasts which kind of sit in the bottom of the housing. I'm not sure if nissan will sell the balast seperately but obviously you can get the replacement xenon bulbs that are suitable for the factory xenons.
  15. nice one mate. they sure are an awesome car, and up amongst the fastest cars I've ever driven. amazing to think they put out just 290awkw standard but you'd need a shed load more than 290awkw in a 32/33/34 GTR to keep up with one. you must be very happy with the purchase. just one thing I don't get is the plates? specV?
  16. thanks mate, now that I have the '7 I will definitely head to RE Amemiya and FEED. Actually I was considering FEED for the engine build on my RZ as my friend in japan had an engine built there and was strongly trying to convince me to do the same, but pre-stage worked out to be more convenient and did a top job.
  17. you think they are cool, until you see the 400mm mines curved vane jobbies I just sold to russ. when he's farked them and onto the second set hit him up for the old ones for lounge room display duty I reckon.
  18. fking gold i tell ya.
  19. agree 100%. if he is the best spokesman they can come up with they really have not been looking hard enough. his bullshit may fly with the italian press but last time I checked they make up a f**king tiny proportion of the worlds population...
  20. yes, everyone found it tough to pass on this circuit. but we've been led to beleive that homoton has some kind of overtaking superpowers and can pass anyone, anytime, round the outside, up the inside perhaps even over the top. nothing is beyond his talent according to him and his lovers... but suddenly those moves were absent... that was my point. no one else has claimed the overtaking godliness he has.
  21. yeah he was a deadset cock knocker. and james allen. I hate you more with each GP you call.
  22. NO NO NO. DO NOT TAKE THIS ADVICE. in a GTR the shifter goes into the transfer case. so all you'll be doing is pouring gear oil into the transfer. not good. for one the transfer case doesn't take gear oil and 2 you will still have an empty gearbox. first thing is always undo filler plug before drain plug. for 2 reasons. 1 it helps drain as air can enter the filler and replace the fluid coming out. and 2 so you don't end up in this situation... if you have access to an oxy torch you can heat it up and you'll be able to get it out. also the plugs are usually actually a metric size so a socket square drive fits 'ok' but it's not perfect. there are proper metric gearbox plug remover tools that fit it perfectly and wont 'butterfly' it. they are quite exxy to buy but i know UAS has a set and they use them. they do make things easier when a plug is nice and tight. also once out some companies make replacement plugs with a nut shape so in the future you can use a normal 6 point socket to get it off. anyway the best bet is heat up the area around the plug and get it out, or try and freeze it. you can buy CO2 in a can.
  23. he's probably worried about bits of shrapnel coming his way if it blows up alongside him. .... i kid. i kid... i'm sure it'll be fine...
  24. nice. it will certainly pull up nicely now.
  25. they could be good to hold onto like a set of reins...
