Item:RB26 and accessories Age:re-built in 2003 Condition:good Price:$4200 for the whole lot To Fit:whatever car you want to put it in Location:Sydney Contact:me, by pm Ok guys, It's time for me to sell all the gear out of my 32 GTR. I have bought an N1 Nur crate motor and had it rebuilt in japan so I need to sell off all my current gear before the new stuff arrives. The current engine was rebuilt in japan in 2003 according to the previous owner. It was an engine rebuild/refresh done in Saitama, Japan. The engine is in excellent condition and makes great power. I do less than 5,000kms a year in it so it's still very fresh. I do track days and the like with it and to ensure longevity I only run Motul Chrono 300V 10W40 (full ester) and I run a Defi oil pressure gauge to monitor oil pressure. It does not suffer oil surge at all (I do 2 laps whilst recording oil pressure, then play it back). Oil pressure is 8bar+ at cold start. once at operating temp it sits on about 6bar and higher whilst at a steady cruise (above 3,000rpm). Even at hot idle it sits on 2 bar. Also to ensure engine health I run a very conservative rev limit of 7,200 RPM at the circuit as RB26 on circuit + high revs do not mix. The engine is currently making 260rwkw at just 1.05bar boost. What you get: my complete RB26 (rocker covers, plugs, head, everything in the head, the whole bottome end including sump, diff etc) Trust Cam gears (currently fitted and dialed in nicely) Trust Timing belt Full Trust Hard pipe kit (I just recently spent about $250 buying new genuine Trust silicone joiners for it) GTR FMIC exhaust manifolds Turbos (i'm not sure what they are, bit of a lucky dip on them, they do have HKS wastegate actuators which may hint at something, we will know when everything is pulled out. the previous owner in japan just said "turbocharger added") Dump pipes and front pipes Throttle bodies Plenum Fuel Injectors (440cc) Fuel rail standard radiator Oil pump and water pump engine mounts I can probably throw in my Apexi Power intake kit too and all the turbo intake piping I can also give you a copy of the Power FC tune which you can just upload to your Power FC. It's a good tune. Lots of time spent on it both on dyno and road tuning. What you don't get, but will need: Coil packs, fuel reg (costs about $20 second hand), Power steering, altenator etc (just re-use what you have), inlet bridge (goes between throttles and engine). Now the reason I'm selling all this gear for $4200 instead of $5,000 is there is a problem with it atm. The balancer bolt was not done up tight enough and it has snapped the keyway off the crank. It's not a hard fix as the standard keyway is not part of the crank, there is a half moon shaped recess in the crank and the keyway is pressed in, so it's not a big deal to weld a new one in there, then linish the snout and bobs your uncle. any competent workshop can weld up a new keyway and it will be fine. The only job the keyway does it locate the balancer whilst you are putting it on, once on it doesn't do anything, it doesn't drive the balancer, the bolt holding the balancer on the crank is what drives it. There are two options for repair: 1. Once the engine is out take it to workshop and get it repaired (I've spoken to Envy Imports, and Autosport and both have said they could easily repair it. I would guess repair costs of a couple hundred $) 2. Once the engine is out whip off the sump take out the crank and replace the crank, and the bearings with a new crank. Will cost about $1000 but then you basically have a brand new RB26. I have considered repairing it before sale, but i would rather just take $4200 for the lot and let someone else do it, but I would be happy to help organise it. Anyone who has been in my car, or driven it I'm sure will attest to how fresh and crisp the engine felt in it. A recent pic. Sorry for all the dust but I'd just had a little off track excursion and the dust went everywhere, so I took a pic before I cleaned it up. and older pic, This has been a great set-up for me putting out a meaty 270rwkw and pretty low boost and very conservative tune. It has almost no blow by, excellent compression and great power. All the parts you need for the same enjoyment are here. BTW, if anyone out there for some reason is wondering about the price. Consider this. Replacing this stuff is costing me about $25,000...

are you trying to get banned? not only are you starting multiple threads on the same topic, but in your other thread you were warned about not naming any business you wish to bad mouth on the forum. it may seem harsh, but rules are rules and they are in place to protect the forum owner from any potential legal action. you were explained the rules then chose to ignore them. next infringement is account suspension.

if it were my choice I'd go the 1.2mm. and I did.
-
how much did the head job cost?
-
nope, wont be a problem. japanese sales tax is only 5% and chances are it's included in the price you are buying them for.
-
always go for the smallest oversize possible. far better to pull down the engine first, inspect. then buy pistons to suit your new bore size. if there is nothing really wrong with the motor you should be going for 86.5mm bore. .5mm oversize.

well I will give out one tip. if you plan to visit any tuning shop and want to see anything more than the front door and the gift shop then you will need to make an appointment and let them know why you are coming (need to come up with a reason here, saying I'm a tourist from australia and just want to look around probably wont thrill them). They will feel a bit put out if you just expect to rock up, look around, use up their time and then not buy anything. If you do buy something or order something decent you will be in for some much nicer treatment for sure.

just go to someone with up to date datalogit box and software, or buy a handcontroller

Nurburgring Nordschleife Falls To The Mighty 911 Gt2 In 7:32
Beer Baron replied to Gazzilla's topic in R35 GTR
forget Tsuchiya. gerry's son owns one so I'm pretty sure he knows what he's talking about.... my freind who put his GT3 cup car into the wall at eastern creek would tend to agree that such a rear bias can have it's problems... -
well it's not a good sign as lots of japanese owners do neglect servicing. it's not 100% a bad sign either as lots of japanese owners neglect the service book too. bit hard to say. nearly all the cars I have bought had service history. some were very comprehensive, some were patchy, some had barely anything in them after 10years! something is better than nothing though.

Phoenix Power Japan..
Beer Baron replied to anthony123's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
phoenix power is a workshop way up north of japan on hokkaido. great workshop, but I would be a bit worried about buying a car from hokkaido. lots of snow there and lots of salt or chemicals used on the roads to melt snow means lots of rusty cars from hokkaido. go to a competent tuner. you can dyno any car. as for tuning it depeneds on what ECU it has? as far as modifications go it could have anything from a phoenix power sticker set, to a lot of upgrades. unless advertised my guess is it got the sticker pack upgrade. -
Garage Saurus. Up in my top 3 or 4 favourite japanese tuners. and their orange 32 GTR drag/circuit car is amongst my top 10 GTRs of all time. The mecca of circuit oriented GTR owners. Saurus do not build show cars, they just build hard core circuit cars, and some drag cars too. but these days their focus is definitely circuit. You know you are in the right place when this is the kind of machinery parked outside... Hayashi-san's R33 drag car, over 1000ps, hayashi-san's white 32 GTR (completely standard and original), on the other side is his R34 GTR road car packing 1200ps with an RB30 and T51R combo. The engine bay of the 33. This is his R34 road car. Who else would want 1200ps for a street car?!? Hayashi-san was a gracious host as I had made an appointment there. He showed me around the shop (which was huge, even by aus standards) and got their orange 32 GTR out of hiding for me. This is it, the 2004 Rev Speed Time Attack winner outright. I think it does 55s around Tsukuba. Not bad at all. Inside is very simple. but the attention to detail is amazing. it's a purpose built race car that looks like it's a show car. Just being in the workshop was pretty cool. A customers car was having a roll cage installed whilst I was there. They don't do things by halves. The whole interior was stripped bare so their mechanic could weld up a cage. all window etc removed. I got to see the guy welding and it was damn good. check out the exhaust collection! Some nice pieces there too. Work bench and tyre and wheel stock. The little shop was awesome too. Packed full of lots of hard core parts. Check out the stack of turbos and wastegates near the floor! Or if you need a beefy clutch they have you covered there too. They were also very proud of their GTR oversize throttle upgrades. They are a big believer in retaining the six throttle set-up and they say their oversize throttles are good for over 1200ps, as they use them on their cars they should know... The big trophy on the right of the counter is the 2004 Rev Speed Time Attack Trophy. More hard core bits. Lots of nice suspension. Another part of the workshop. A current project. They are building this Ferrari marranello for a customer! he lives in Kyoto and comes up to the Tokyo area to fang around. This thing was hard core considering it's just built for trackdays etc. He must have a lot of coin. It takes a lot of balls and a lot of dough to hack into a ferrari like this. nice cage

Time for a change of pace. Some non-car related pics. Shibuya Kossaten. Typical of intersections near many busy train stations around Tokyo. Lots of people. They also have the nationalist party vans there screaming out their message. Actually I'm not sure which party/movement the white van is with. They were preaching equality etc, not sure if that includes outsiders though... Meiji Jingu-mae shrine in Harajuku. One of my favourite places in Tokyo. Every time I go there I leave feeling a million bucks. It is so tranquil and relaxing it's amazing. The Torii entrance gate. It's huge. When you are standing near it it seems even bigger. It's scale is hard to capture on film. just a small part of the huge gardens that surround the shrine. This shot gives a better idea of scale. and as you can see the shrine is very popular, even in late autumn. I can only imagine it must be very busy when the leave change is in full effect. This is approaching the shrine. On the left and right of pic are the little troughs where you wash your hands and rinse out your mouth before entering the shrine. It's also a popular place for traditional japanese weddings. The shrine. Enter, throw some hyaku yen coins into the box, say a prayer, reflect for a moment, then leave. Looking back from the steps of the shrine towards the courtyard entrance. Another wedding party. Pretty cool. Bride and groom. For those of you who live or work in the city in Sydney you will know there is a guy usually in Pitt St Mall giving out free hugs. well he started something and now it's all over the place. Apparently he has even appeared on Oprah and now copy cats are everywhere, even in japan it seems. These two uni students were trying to share the love on the bridge at Harajuku but not getting many customers. and yes I did give the dude a hug. and afterwards these two girls wanted to interview me on camera. haha. yes I agreed it was pretty funny, they were so shy it was quite funny to see them battle between their desire to ask questions for the project and their desire to run home! This is what a fairly empty peak hour train looks like in Tokyo. When it's full on it's much more packed than this. It's quite funny, being 6ft2" I have a completely different view than my japanese friends who can only see the person next to them. Even when packed I can see clean from one end of the train to the other. It's even funnier when I spot another tall foreigner way down the other end. sometimes even 3 carriages away I can see them and give them a smile. West exit Shinjuku station, looking south. East exit, Shinjuku station looking east. Big Nova ad is still prominent but I don't know for how long Yes, this is literally a sea of people I'm standing in! and the big sign in katakana is sakuraya a big camera/electronics store in shinjuku. very good but I prefer yodabashi as I have a point card there which gives you 15% off (kicks ass on 5% duty free that's for sure). everyone getting ready to make a break for it on the other side of the intersection.

did a 4:27. not sure if that's good, but it was my best, and I had an off at the hairpin. did a 2:17 first lap (good lap) and a 2:10 second lap (could have been a bit better). and I only just picked it up again today and it was my second go.

agreed, you wont save any money by buying them whilst you're over there, plus then you are on a time limit so you can't just scope out auctions for months looking for that tight arse special auction that only comes up now and then. best bet is to get laurence or streeter to bid for you and start low balling some auctions till you get lucky. I would still expect around $1700-$2000 landed minimum for a decent set. because you need to buy them, pay yahoo fees, pay bank fees, pay commission, pay local postage, pay international postage. and sea freight sucks and has a comparatively high rate of lost parcels. on the flip side EMS is super reliable and fast, but much more pricey. also, with no car carrying 4 18 inch wheels from wherever you buy them, to your hotel, then wrap them, then post them (also tricky if you have 0 japanese) is going to be one mean feat. also, places like upgrage mostly have wheels with tyres on them (which you have to have removed to ship) and their prices are higher than yahoo. honestly. years ago I used to be dead keen to seek out parts whilst in japan. but it's a waste in general. the beauty of the internet is you can do a better job from your lounge chair with a laptop.

Tsukuba Race Prep (all Finished, Some Vids & Pics ) !
Beer Baron replied to giant's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
actually fatz drives around on a little round rubber doughnut as he constantly has a sore ring... gross but true. -
I could say the same for half the nissan owners on this forum. I mean what's with the constant holden/ford bashing? and bagging their owners. I've never owned a commodore or falcon but that doesn't stop me recognising that they have made some great value cars in their time. I love the new HSV senators. they look awesome, and they have a big powerful V8, nice leather interior, much improved build quality and nice, modern styling. and cost around $100K. pretty decent if you ask me. GTRs are great but if I could afford 20 cars I wouldn't have 20 bloody GTRs in the garage. actually if I didn't spend so much coin on the GTRs I've owned I probably could have 20 cars. I love the GTRs. They are all great in different ways. but they are not the be all, end all of world motoring.

lol. D'oh!

nah, this is what I'm talking about. Nice big lounge chairs, 46" Bravia 1080P XBR (in gun metal grey of course), PS3 on high speed wireless network. swoit. and michael, get yourself a HD TV stat! the main reason I upgraded was I played PS3 in japan on HD TV, then when I bought one home last year and played it on my SD TV it was good but no where near as good. So I ante'd up the dough and went HD and it's awesome.

Re55's On Gtr32
Beer Baron replied to GTR_STEALTH's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
pretty much any decent second hand 17X9 +20-+30 rims you buy are cheaper than just one set of 255/40/17 RE55s. so if buying the second set of rims saves you 1/3rd wear on your RE55s then that's an extra set you have every 3 sets. and yes, once they are worn down they are pretty average in the wet. when new they are fine, but after a while they become pretty nasty. I've had wheelspin accelerating in 3rd on the road with worn semi slicks. and had a big moment. that little ring tightener was enough to convince me to use road tyres on the road, and track tyres on the track. -
Whose Gtr Is At The Powerplay For Sale?
Beer Baron replied to tyaos's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
yep, that is Christians car (Prank on the forum). awesome car. He always has only the best for that car. it's the perfect kind of car to buy. owner has spent buckets on it, barely drives it, and when he does he drives it like a granny. that's right, prank is a pu55y!
