  1. did anyone miss this... "427 monaro". nice! your dad has some taste mate, and lucky for him some cash to back it up. nice garage. 427 monaro and a Z-tune. easy meets west in limited run 'tuner cars'. It's a tough choice as to which one I'd have though. the monaro or the GTR. I mean, I love the z-tune, but the 427 is a pretty special car too.
  2. did they do the doors for you russ?
  3. yeah I would do all of them except the front. unless maybe if you have a broken one atm I guess it's a good time to upgrade.
  4. no it runs rich as metered air is being lost through the leak.
  5. I have a 33 GTR with a stock exhaust. It's pretty awful. it's very tiny, heavy and restrictive. It's one of the things nissan used in order to keep the power under the 206kw agreement. They were quite smart though. They used reasonable dumps, pretty good front pipes (on GTR) and a good cat, then put a strangling exhaust on it, becuase of this a modifier can reap a much bigger than normal gain when changing cat back exhaust on a GTR. thanks nissan
  6. how about I rest one on your nipple whilst you're sleeping then put the gas torch on your knee cap. then try it again without the ti shim and see if there is any appreciable difference? or if you will just admit that you are jealous of them we can team up and do it to brisby instead. your call.
  7. mmm low mount twins. the real mans turbo choice.
  8. I wouldn't worry about it. I have run without the cover for about 3 years. even went off backwards at EC over the ripple strip and through the sand (rock) trap at about 160kph and no damage except my cooling duct (like giants but alloy) got bent into the rotor. which didn't damage anything except the cooling duct. I just ripped it off and all was ok giant, do you know the part number for those pupies, and how much were they?
  9. "How will 19" wheels effect performance?" negatively. more unsprung weight means poorer handling, worse acceleration and the standard suspension will have trouble controlling them nicely. of course they are also illegal. personally I think it's a bad idea all round, but if you must have 19s for some reason then go for it. I mean it's not like your whole car will fall appart instantly, but there are certainly negative effects.
  10. you need a brotec MFE-con. it controls the magnetic fuel expander maps to keep it all in harmony with your cars natural feng shui. and yes I'm a sucker for Ti. I even have a Top Secret Titanium ash tray.
  11. yeah, you can't just have the paint blasted off unfortunately and leave it that way. it will look like ass. It's just as easy to take the whole car there. they can remove, strip, paint, refit and bob's your uncle. I did both my 32s at sydney central smash repair and I was happy with both jobs. both my 33s still had their lip in factory condition thank god colour coded lips are lame.
  12. can't wait to get these. then I'll fit some hiclones into my brake ducts too just to be sure. maybe a peter brock fuel polariser to up the power now that my brakes will be so kick ass.
  13. that little bird needs to keep on pecking. maybe another 30,000 more pieces of bird feed.
  14. lol, fore sure. "Hey I've got an R35 GTR." "awesome, what year model?" "2007" "oooh "
  15. I think bass junky was being sarcastic... seeing as how he's an engineeer I'm fairly certain he knows the relative weight of titanium! and actually I didn't think titanium was light as such, just that because of it's strength it can be used in thinner sheets for a given application than you could with alluminium etc. so you get the weight saving because you are using less of it than you would of other materials.
  16. there is no quick fix that is worth doing. testing for air leaks is easy. that would always be the FIRST thing I would test with high idle as it's by far the easiest to test for an eliminate. then move on to other stuff.
  17. yep, hopefully we will be getting 2009 models. as there will be guys here with compliance within a matter of months and I would expect the first LVI ones to be landing here early next year, possibly even sooner if people have got in the queue that has no doubt been forming outside nissan dealers in japan for the last year. then we can import 07 and 08 models for ever more also since when is 7.8mil yen "less than $70,000" I want to go to that currencey exchange!
  18. mate, we don't do these "EOI my mate can get parts for you" deals here. don't post it again. thanks
  19. relax the bumping mate. excesive bumping will see your thread get closed and warning level increased. thanks.
  20. I wonder if my bell end will be more fatigue resistant if I get that done.... hmmm. I can't see why it's not a good idea.
  21. what did you freeze djr81? I was thinking gear knob. either that or oil pump drive gear. hmmm.
  22. yeah more power would be good. but evos already run very high boost from standard. 1.2 or 1.3 bar from memory.
  23. yay, beer baron picked it. I should charge for diagnosis. air leak is the easiest of all things to check, but for some reason people love swapping coil packs and afms, and AAC valves when all you need is a spray bottle with water or some carby cleaner and about 25 seconds of time to do it.
  24. you are a champ send me a pm with your details and I'll send you some cash now. cheers.
