  1. I hope you have the lid off the master cylinder when you are pushing the pistons back in with the nipples closed. because the system is sealed and if you are pushing a piston back in that pressure has to go somewhere and often it ends up getting forced past a seal somewhere (master maybe) which can stuff the seals. 90% of the time spongy pedal is solved by bleeding the brakes. especially if your set of 3000s is more worn than your 2500s is possibly a reason why you are getting poor pedal.
  2. personally I think screamer on an internal gate turbo (what you have) is pretty lame. a proper screamer (on an external gate) like what most people in this thread are talking about is an aquired taste. sounds impressive, but also sounds a bit 'dirty'.
  3. this is all you need. simple, easy to reach, meets approval from cams scrutineers, easy to make. Plus it's very sold as the last thing you want is it coming loose in an accident. chubbs, mounting it to plastic interior parts is a bad idea. can you imagine what two kilos of steel will feel like it it hits you at 100km/h! not good.
  4. you realise of course if the forum is down no-one can read that note until the forum is back up again, at which point the note wont really make much sense.
  5. to make a GTR as fast as bloodnut in his GTST will cost you around the $50K mark to make it fast and reliable. GTR is a very heavy car which means you need, bigger better tyres, bigger better brakes, more power, better suspension just to go the same speed. and you need to replace all those things more regularly as the GTR is very hard on brakes and tyres. either way borrowing money to modify your GTST (or GTR) for track is a bad idea. a standard GTST with exhaust, boost, and good pads and fluid is a good place to start. if you have a bit more cash get a second set of wheels with semi-slicks. then get out there and do as many days as possible. experience is what will make you fast, not mods.
  6. Can't argue with that. I currently have 12 wheels in rotation for the GTR. BBS LM, Enkei NT-03 and Weds Sport TC-05. and I don't think I can part with any of them. Love them all.
  7. ok, drop the price to $2000. very cheap for top shelf alloy body, mono tube coil-overs.
  8. well i've now take a deposit on the car. we'll see what happens in the next week.
  9. man, johnny's brake page is a dangerous place to browse! god he has some nice brakes there. I want one of each.
  10. it will go big, mainly because of Peter's recent death. apart from the cool history aspect it's a pretty average car though give me the plastic pig group A walkinshaw any day thanks.
  11. looking good tacker. keep the enkeis, I reckon they suit the car well. especially with the new colour scheme.
  12. umm yes it did.
  13. you don't need 4 threads with the same questions. please don't do it again.
  14. it works for me. must be something wrong on your end.
  15. going back to the halogens is the only sensible way to solve that problem. the HIDs really are terrible in the non-projector skyline housings.

  17. haha, I'll post you one if you like. dunno how customs at your end will take to it though!
  18. I think it may be more about the driving style that any peculiarity with the gearset, stock gearboxes do through oil out the breather on track for sure.
  19. so who wants the nismo diff upgrade kit? I'm going to order some stuff today so it's best for me to include this stuff. saves me cost of TT fees etc. They are the same price for both types of kit. either 45ft/lbs or 75ft/lbs. I know nismo japan have the 45ft/lbs kit in stock but not sure on the 75ft/lbs kit. Let me know today if you want one. You can pay me in the next few days but I just need to know for sure who's in, so I can place my order today.
  20. nice work mate. car seems very fast now. and anyone under 90kgs is a pussy anyway.
  21. yeah I can't comment on your premium. but let me say this. let's say you get a premium somewhere else for $1000. but if they are a shady company and don't pay your claim, or give you shoddy repair then that $2100 would suddenly be looking like very good value. it's like buying clothes on sale. the shirt you really want is not on sale and costs $200. but there is another shirt, not quite the same style and the size is a bit too big. it's only $50 and reduced from $200. you may say the $50 shirt is the bargain and buy that. I say it's a rip off, because it's not what you want. I'd buy the $200. because even $50 is too much to pay for a $200 shirt you didn't want to buy.
  22. my experience is this: shanons is the best. but bear in mind they are a specialist insurer. so if you are 23 and have a 33 GTST that you drive 20,000kms a year to and from work every day, and it's mostly parked on the street they most likely wont cover you (which is good as you would be a high risk). if however you are 26 and have a mint VspecII R32 GTR that you drive less than 5,000kms a year and it's always garaged then shanons is the company for you. and since they don't insure really high risk customers (like my example above) your premium will be competitive. I have been unfortunate enough to have to make a theft claim with shanons. they were tough but fair. They conducted their investigation into the theft and interviewed me etc and to be honest it was the worst weeks I've had in recent memory, but once they had exercised due diligence they promptly paid the claim. and I'm glad they fully investigate claims as otherwise they would be paying out to some fraudulent pricks out there and my premiums would be going up because of it. also, never lie about anything to an insurance company. ever. if you should ever have to make a claim it could bite you on the arse. so be as honest as you possibly can.
  23. me thinks you are confusing 'dump pipes' with 'front pipes'. dump pipes, yes turbo removal. front pipes no need.
  24. pretty sure you don't have to take the turbos off for front pipes nismoidy. there is just 4 nuts that hold them to the dumps which you should be able to get with a long extension on your ratchet.
  25. lol, smartarse. with all my money on shocks they are all I can afford. and for your information they are excellent. and doesn't everyone play with car parts on the kitched table?
