  1. I hope they give up on the bloody "wiper slot" and "kangaroo paw" bullshit and keep making those curved vane one with the alcon style slots (or even normal slots).
  2. are you sure that's not the GTR badge part number? you need the nissan one right?
  3. I like fuji, it's a pretty cool track. not sure how well suited it is to F1 though. the facilites there are awesome. and adam you should be ashamed of yourself! not going to your home GP, especially at a facility as cool as Fuji, and close to you too. I hope alonso does leave maclaren and ron goes mental and hires webber as no2 driver to his main man hamilton.
  4. Also, they are not NT03+M. They are the older model NT03.
  5. yes there is a much cheaper way to get accurate lap times. buy a mychron light TG for about $350.
  6. if you plan on doing any in car stuff then atm there is only one option. mini DV. both hard disk and DVD cams are susceptible to sharp knocks, and even vibration can kill them at worst and give you bad footage at best. and if you want really good quality then you need a 3CCD camera. so narrow that search to mini dv 3CCD cams and you will be onto a winner. for handycams i've always liked JVC and I have one now.
  7. Hi Guys, I'm selling my Power FC DJETRO. I had been hanging on to this planning to use it in my GTR, but I need some dough so it's up for sale. Included is: 1 X RB26 Power FC DJETRO 1 X Hand controller 2 X Apexi/Denso map sensors 2 X Apexi nipples 1 X Map sensor harness 1 X instruction manual (inc diagrams for sensor fitting) All gear is in good condition and working fine. It's been used for under a year and less than 5,000kms. There are a couple of small marks on the Power FC case but nothing bad. I'm asking $1250 for the who shebang. To buy all the gear separately costs a fair bit, plus there is a minimum 2 month wait on any Power FC from Apexi now if you can get one at all. Pick-up in sydney northshore is fine, or postage should be under $20 for most of Aus. Pics:
  8. this thread has now become GTR owners VS Roy. which is the best kind of thread available. just be clear that there can be no winner, only losers. all of us. it's a good thing you can steer Roy because you are not very good looking and shit in bed. well at least that's what snowman told me...
  9. well for starters lover boy you'll need an external wastegate. the turbo itself is not 'externally gated' it's just a turbo. with no internal wastegate. and yes of course you will need completely different dump pipe and most likely front pipe too.
  10. oil pressure guage is very important. it tells you how things are going. and if something goes wrong mine activates a big red light and a buzzer which means I can shut off straight away and save the motor. also I use it to record a few laps then replay it back in the pits so I can ensure I'm not getting oil surge through the corners.
  11. agreed. having a stand alone boost controller is a good idea. much easier (and MUCH quicker) to set-up.
  12. i'm not to convinced on all this percentage business. anyway, mine is a pivot one and very, very nice feel. and very short throw.
  13. geez, any new south welshman could have tapped that keg with only a cocktail umbrella, a matchstick and two rubber bands to use as tools. ya blouse wearing pansies!
  14. Hi guys, As I'm sure everyone knows I'm going through a huge round of upgrades to the GTR. Whilst this is happening I thought of diff bushes. Nismo make the following bushes: 55470-RS580 NISMO Diff Mount Bush (rear) 55476-RS580 NISMO Diff Mount Bush (front) 55474-RS580 NISMO Diff Mount Bush (front upper) 55475-RS580 NISMO Diff Mount Bush (front lower) They are not cheap with the prices being approx as follows: $100 each $20 each $10 each $12 each And my guy in japan seems to think I need 2 of each so we are talking $300 worth of bushes here. Now I'm guessing the two front ones are easy to replace but how hard is it to put the front and rear halves of the rear bushes into the cradle? does the whole thing have to be removed. and are there any local options that are better or cheaper? or is $300 for the set about right? Thanks
  15. it feels nice but that's about it. I certainly don't think it does anything for lap times.
  16. I use one. I like it.
  17. your're a funny guy mate. so just to get my head around. you get off 4 seconds a lap cause you could've chosen another gear at turn 1 and you get another 2 seconds for lack of experience. everyone else doesn't. is that about right?
  18. lol. yeah he was gold. the immovable object. his dad was trying to haul him off but he just lay there like a dead weight. nice.
  19. yeah I think shock set-up will be the biggest challenge now. I spent a year and a half playing with 4 way sachs set-up on a 996 cup car and we spent a year before we had a really good set-up nailed for the 3 NSW tracks (bear in mind we were in the dark completely at the beginning). with my own ohlins I have spent some time trying to set them up but after all that I wished I'd had the time to get them on a shock dyno and get some good starting point either from gary or paul joyner here at bilstein in sydney. so my only advice is keep at it!! it should be super quick now and definitely up there with the best. can't wait to see what you think of the new set-up.
  20. well I think the big advantage is you get to tell people you have a carbon diff. but unless they are going to remove your engine and sump and check you can do that anyway and no one will know the difference. to be honest I don't think it's really necessary. In theory the carbon disks should have some better properties and perhaps they last longer but in reality I don't know how much better (if at all) they are. I've used a carbon clutch and it was great but i'm not tossing my convential clutch in the bin to get one. Cusco diffs are cheap at around $1000 mark and perform very well.
  21. don't look at me! you were firmly in the pro-disney camp! and for sure, even at half price it was a rip. The only worthwhile part was seeing that 3 year old girl in full bridal outfit. lol.
  22. yes tokyo disney is crap. I was taken there against my will by some friends a few years ago and even though I lied to the ticket lady and said I was under 12 and wanted a child ticket I still felt ripped off. Far better to spend a day somewhere japanese rather than some where copied from america (and a poor copy of the original).
  23. I'll give you 2 pepper grinders and a sea salt grinder for the enkeis take some time and think it over.
