  1. ok, some cozplay-zoku in Harajuku. Some people think they are freaks, some think they are cute, some think they are sexy (?!) but most japanese friends I've talked to about cozplayzoku think they are just weird kids, and most japanese girls I know are a bit embarassed about foreigners fascination with these type of people. but no matter what your opinion it has to be said they are uniquely and recognisably japanese.
  2. here are another couple of food pics: another night of Shabu Shabu: and here is something for the bolder. Fugu karage. Anyone who watches the simpsons, or who knows about fish with know that Fugu is a poisonous fish that when cut and served incorrectly will cause death. Many Fugu chefs will leave a small amount of poison in the dish to make your mouth numb! Most popular as fugu sashimi and also fugu soup. But Fugu karage is extra tasty A friend of mine Yumiko. and lastly this guy would have to be the funiest man in the world! He works out the front of a store in Shinjuku in this crazy suit. It has a ducks neck and head where his wang should be, with two little reins so he can steer it. he stands there in this outfit rapping (yes! rapping) in japanese. I love your work duck/wang man.
  3. Boz22n, glad you like the pics. Adam, yeah lot's of japanese friends. why do you think I go back to japan so often! it's not just for the rice snacks. ok a few more pics: These are some pics of my friend's (tomonori) GTR. Well actually it's his fathers car (Akai-san). He is over 60 years old, but still drives a tuned (over 500ps) GTR. It has all the good gear, upgraded turbos etc, massive endless brakes, TE37s. He hit the recall for me on his speed meter and it showed 267kph. I thought that was pretty good and asked if that was on the main straight at Fuji speedway (yes he still drives it on track) and he laughed and said in his best english: "No! Freeway Driving..." lol. he's pretty hardcore for a small, older japanese gentleman. He even has a fixed bucket recaro as the driver seat. The best part of this story is he has promised to organise a fuji speedway course licence for me later this year so I can drive his GTR and Fuji. So big thank you Tommo and Akai-san. (^_^) here is another pic of Tomonori with his hachi parked in the front of his dads factory. and here's what he did to his poor hachis driveshaft when we were out drifting.
  4. I'll do the glovebox check for you tonight. My guess is yes, it'll fit easily. I really want it gone by this weekend. So let's call it $2100 for now or make me an offer. man electronics suck! $4K down to $2100 in 6 months. It's top shelf too. wireless net, bluetooth, Dual layer burner, lightweight and well over 2 years of warranty a steal I reckon. If no one takes it for this money I'll find someone in the family to give it a home.
  5. well it sounds like you have a good plan and learning to read, speak and write japanese is a good start. taking a holiday there first is a great idea. best of luck
  6. yeah don't get me wrong I'm not saying MS was an open wheel superstar that was let down by circumstance. I'm just saying he was (is?) a very talented driver in both sedans and open wheelers but had he been raised in europe and given the right direction and training I can certainly believe he would have had enough talent to carry him along to a good career. not saying he would have been the hottest thing of wheels, but he would have at least been worth signing.
  7. lol. sorry troy. didn't I meantion that my cobra is ex V8 supercar FPR Glen Seton, and also singed by Glen Seton? must have skipped my mind! .... Glen Seton!
  8. i am not going to be in usual form tonight. I am sick as a dog. pretty much just came to work so I could drag myself to the dinner afterwards!
  9. yeah, I think the pics I took were of the concept version. production version probably is toned down a bit and has an uglier girl standing next to it. or even worse, no girl at all.
  10. ok, I will throw up my nugget. R32 GTR. run in club sprints and state sprints. had a few good results. a few specs: running ohlins (nismo) all alloy shocks with remote canisters and seperate bump and rebound adjustment all adjustable arms (except LCAs) big swaybars cusco 8 point cage ~270rwkw heaps of other gear. cobra evolution seat, lots of defi gauges, 34 GTR brembos a few sets of rims (33 GTR and enkei NT03 atm). lots of time and money spent on suspension work and set-up, and stuff like big oil cooler etc. way to much to add up. pics
  11. ask them what brand they are, and what rating. because sure people can buy cheap ones cheaper, but if these are a good quality one you will be better off.
  12. ok with no degree and limited experience your job prospects in japan are pretty much the same as here... not good, except they are more limited as you can't work for most japanese companies. to be honest I don't think you have very good chances of making it work in japan. $8K will not last you very long. I can spend that much in 2 or 3 weeks no problem (think about, air fare, accomodation, food, shopping, partying etc). granted you wont be spending that much as your not just on holiday, but still... plus without a job offer, or a degree you have no chance of getting a working visa. you can get a working holiday visa though. My advice is put it off for a few years and get a degree. basically you would find it a bit tough atm even to get a job in a converstation school. you would really be looking at bar work, or hustling tourists into strip clubs, brothels, hostess bars etc. if you are a big dude you may get a job as a bouncer but you will still need some japanese. I say unless you are living in dirt poverty atm don't move to japan for that kind of work.
  13. But the stack panel is pretty old school now and very expensive for what it is. I would go with:
  14. umm, you just buy a stack panel. make sure you have wallet handy and well stocked.
  15. I don't know why they get higher rated fuel, but I guess they have a pretty good handle on controling the crude oil market...
  16. what is this 'full boost' thing you guys speak of? i'm also a bit confused by meaningful boost too. is that like meaningful sex?
  17. also what if you change turbochargers? a small turbo at 1 bar may give you 180kw. a larger turbo still producing only 1 bar may give you 250kw... there is no accounting for this in your equation. this is because you are measuring forced induction using a measure of the resistance in the inlet tract with no accounting for the actual volume of air being pumped in.
  18. yeah, skaifey is a great driver, and very talented. I don't know if he was ever quite F1 standard but I would say he had enough promise that if he had been groomed for it from a fairly young age he would have been good enough to hold his own. I would say it's all 20% talent. 40% backing and 40% grooming/training/learning to become good in F1. Anyway I love skaifey and I'm sure even if he was no good on track he could at least hold his own in an off track punch up.
  19. give me a call butt man. I am just up the street, but probably working till about 6.
  20. dude, have you checked the exchange rate lately? 115,000 JPY is not near $1700AUD. It's under $1100. Which is far cheaper than a place in sydney! you must be on a good wicket.
  21. yes, plenty of cheap shitty cars have cable clutches. there is no slave cylinder though. they just have a cable from pedal to fork. but as I said above NO GTR has a cable clutch (neither does any GTST). and after all this is about GTRs, not 1976 model mazda 323s... also cable or hydraulic has nothing to do with any difference between push and pull type clutches.
  22. see how much better kimi is with booze. that other kimi vid was a snooze-a-thon. kimi falling of a boat however is gold.
  23. well funnily enough japan has pretty much the same career opportunities as any developed country. so what field are you in here? what qualifications do you have? that will give you an idea. ie, if you are a dentist here, then you could be a dentist in japan. but any kind of decent career in a japanese company you will need strong japanese language skills. the other option is work in foreign companies in japan.
  24. no you've got it. but your ms paint drawings seem to be getting worse!
