  1. well it shouldn't be running a stoichiometric AFR anywhere except at cruise (light throttle, low load) if it's running stoich anywhere else then you have big problems. anyway, I would do your best to pin point exactly what killed the motor as it wont be much funning fitting a new one then going through it all again.
  2. mate it is 100% illegal to drive without insurance. after all they call it compulsory third party, not optional third party... yes you can legally drive an unregistered car for the purposes of registration, but you must have an appointment at the workshop or inspection station and you must have all the relevant paperwork with you.
  3. that is much more respectable! ok, you are in the cool group now.
  4. lol, I can trump that adz, I can ban the both of you!!
  5. spoken well by somone who have never been inside a private hospital. it may be hard to see the value as you've only experienced the public system, but sure a cyst on your ear may not be life threatening, but what if it's painful? or unsightly? wouldn't you want it operated on as soon as possible? I have a little experience of both and can tell you without doubt the pitance you pay for private health cover is worth every cent.
  6. by all means put in a second hand RB20, BUT make sure you figure out why the first one went bang so you don't do it to the new one (ie, dud fuel pump? bad tune? broken injectors?...)
  7. lol, thank god you're on my team troy. troy truly is the master of talking it up. also an accomplished drinker and a good looking bloke to boot. now I wonder if he can steer...
  8. fatz you butt monkey. the food was free for us, but our kindly little friend paid to ensure no police attendence after someone (not naming any names) scrunched up the bill and threw it at the waiter along with some harsh words. best skid into the fence wins a victory burnout in Johns Z in the carpark. and John, your stacks are just like your driving. weaksause. show us some real damage. all the cool kids have done it. at least snowbrown tried to bin his car but those pesky tyres wore themselves out and kept him on the track.
  9. welcome home mate. NSW where we drink beer by the $3 pint, where no one knows what a machiato is, where the metro mullet is NOT in fashion, where collars stay down... hmm ok that's all we got. Bring it on.
  10. important lesson learnt. if you buy rims with the correct offset you will not need spacers.
  11. there are big differences between so called 1kg extinguishers. some contain only around 500gm of chemical, some contain over double that. they are all rated though. what's the rating on the supercheap one?
  12. dude, do not put silicone, or sellys gap filler, or plaster of paris on the back of your pads. none of it will help and all of it will destroy your pedal feel. you need to use either the marketed brake anti-squel grease, or high temp copper grease. put some on the back of the pad, place on one shim, put on a little more, then the vented shim, then some more, then the angled shim. do not use too much as you don't want it getting on the pads friction surface or on the disk.
  13. I would forget the walbro, and the bosch. get a nismo pump. they fit directly into the tank mounts and are mounted exactly as the stock one was so there are no problems with fuel surge. they have plug already fitted to wire straight in, and they flow heaps. also they are super reliable which I cannot say the same for the bosch and walbro pumps. yes they cost more, but a fuel pump is pretty much the most critical part of a high pressure EFI system.
  14. yeah, they like things a bit last minute. but fingers crossed they are having a GP day sometime around the days you are coming. it really is so much better than sth circuit. I mean it is the last figure 8 in Aus as far as I know. nothing beats the bridge! ask any of the living legends around here (me, fatz, duncan, gtrjason, and even slick johnny) and they will tell you Oran Park GP is the funnessest track in all of NSW. so troy do I need to make your deal BYO tyres or you can use my lovely A048s.... lol.
  15. it's easy getting the pads out, not always so easy putting the new ones back in...
  16. you can use my sled corey. much like your car mine knows how to find the odd wall, so you break it, i break you. lol have fun. snowbrown, definately squeeze in Oran park somehow, and go for the GP circuit. Sth circuit is just a tease. Oran GP is a favourite of mine, so much fun.
  17. dude, relax. if you read the thread you would see she's been out for some time now... Al mate, I reckon a nice backhander could have solved all these problems. what kind of bitch wants to fck up your property? I can't imagine you ever have done anything to her. This sorry tail has made me think a bit. I own a place here in Sydney and have been leasing it out for about 3 years. I've had 4 different tennants in that time, and they have all been good, some better than others. But the lack of protection for landlords is scary. Like you I don't use an agent, I handle everything myself. Glad that ho is gone mate and you can get back to collecting that rent big boy. dollar dollar bill y'all.
  18. I think we may have stumbled across the reason for the varying readings...
  19. some very sound advice here. I would be getting a compression and leakdowns tests done asap. never listen to the person selling to the motor as to how good it is. of course they are going to say it's good. and always change the oil before you start using a new motor.
  20. I would say if your engine blows don't put in a second hand motor at all. either rebuild the one you've got, or rebuild an RB26 or a 1JZ. putting in a used second hand motor is not always a recipe for long term happiness.
  21. I've used autometer before and personally think they are pretty low quality. the japanese gauges are much better.
  22. Thanks mate, it is a nice notebook. Would be awesome for tuning cars etc as it's so portable and has good battery life. plus memory card slot, 3 X USB 2.0, 1 X firewire, dual layer DVD writer. Now that I have a home desktop, a work desktop and another notebook I just don't need it. We spent nearly $4000 after buying the notebook, office pro, norton and the case. Anyway, price drop to $2200 neg.
  23. It's a tough choice man, they both have their good points. One thing is I can't see any Z tune parts on either car? The both have the same bodykit, so either they both have it, or neither does. The front bars might be nismo but I don't think they are Z-tune. I would probably do the white one, it has some nice bits, but the black one is good too. very tough choice.
  24. I would look at your dampers and springs. also look at adjusting the traction rod to place the rear upright more upright. and better tyres also.
  25. oh, and I am a closet aussie falcadore fan. I love the new Holden GTS or R8 or whatever it is. great looking car, nice design touches, big powerfull engine, nice spacious interior and at a pretty good price.
