yep, just turn it off. it will still display boost too. but boost will be at the lowest it can possibly be (ie wastegate pressure only).

hi mate. there is a nissan turbo gasket kit. I am not 100% sure which gaskets it includes but the nissan part number is 14401-24U26. It should cost around $150 or so. at worst it you may have to buy the manifold-head gasket seperately. failing that HKS sell a kit too with all the gaskets but it's around $300 or more.

I think you're best course of action here is to approach them nicely at first. even if you get them to agree to cough up $1 or $2K up front towards the cost of a rebuild/replacement engine then you are doing well. if you can get them to compromise somehow you are doing well. maybe offer to pay for the parts/engine if they will do the labour for free at their shop? If you think it's worth it I would consult a dealer. you may not have warranty, but if you could prove the fact that they knew, or should have known that this car had a dud motor then you may be able to make them cough up.

i would look at correcting this. you may find it magically solves your steering problem. also look in your power steering fluid resevoir and see if there is any fluid in there would be a good place to start.

actually that's pretty normal when a ring land breaks etc.

holy shit. 7 points and $390!!! that is pretty serious penalty considering red Ps can only accumulate a max of 4 points and green ps a max of 7 points. so basically if you get caught driving a banned car on either red or green ps you loose your licence. thank god they didn't have any of this when I was on ps.

I did already say it once, but i will say it again. the lowest you can go is with the controller turned off. turn it off and see what boost you get. that is your 'base boost'.

and manifold to head gaskets, also turbo inlet gasket and turbo outlet gasket, also washers for the oil feeds and water feeds and for the oil drains and water drains. there is a nissan gasket kit that has all that stuff in it.

you can always take her to small claims court but to be honest as it's just her word against yours unless you have some other kind of proof it was her fault (pictures etc) then you are not likely to win. and be aware that even if you do win the courts will direct her to pay you, but she may still hold out and not do it.

no they wont mate. firstly the guy at japlink is just plain wrong. there is no such thing as dual offset wheels. these are the wrong offset for GTR. add to that they are staggered width which means that it will be almost impossible to match front and rear tyre diameter which will cause problems with the GTR AWD system. They obviously will fit a V35 very well, and I would say they will fit a 350Z too. and in the thread you linked it clearly shows they wont fit other skylines properly.

hey, it's not all about pulling chicks with the car. really good looking guys with massiver wangers like me don't even need a car to pull chicks... lol I honestly can see their price. they would have spent a lot of dough on it. but sadly the market dictates they will probably do well to get $60 or $70K for it. what I thought was far crazier was the veilside oil cap for $350!!!! a little bit of creative licence in that advert I think.

yeah I would say it's probably worth $10-$20 now. you have to remember it's not exactly rare. japanese GTR sales brochures are plentiful and were free when new. and aussie sales brochure would be pretty cool though. If they ever printed any.

my advice is. whenever anyone runs into you. if they admit fault at the scene make them sign something on the spot, or even use your phone to record them saying it. so many times it happens, people say "oops, sorry my fault" then when it comes time to pay for your damage, or their excess or whatever they have a change of heart and decide to screw you. unfortunately you don't have much to do here. it's her word against yours basically.

oh, and on a related topic. Power Crafts demo cars look very nice. their 34 GTR in particular looks awesome.

lol, laurence was being sarcastic. and on your advice I did just look at the guys profile and in it is a picture of an RB26, and it looks a lot like the ones on power craft (same colour rocker covers basically). and he didn't mention motor bike engines? you did! I will make you a deal. when the dude comes back on-line we'll ask him. if it's for his GTR you owe me a few tokyo beers, if it's about a motor bike engine I'll be buying the beers, i'll even chuck in some ramen and gyoza afterwards.

lol, hey I love the sound pods make too. I have pods on the GTR and put one on the GTST and I think it actually went a bit lower with the pod, but it sounded good. my point is there is really only one way out. make the car less illegal or at least quieter and then you will be free to enjoy it more.
