  1. moved to wtb. and ftr 34GTT don't have factory brembos (neither rotors or calipers).
  2. well this is the thing. there is a difference between a mod being illegal, and being unsafe (or unroadworthy). as long as: 1. your insurer has been informed about the modification 2. they were installed/peformed by a professional or at least installed/carried out correctly and safely 3. they do not reduce the safe operation of the car then you should be fine.
  3. yeah apparently now in sydney they will not allow you to collect a car from the docks with a trade plate (which is the way I've always done it). BUT in NSW you are supposed to be able to drive a car to a workshop for the purposes of obtaining, or making the car ready for registration. so technically you should be able to drive a car from the docks to a workshop unregistered with or without the trade plate. but as always I wouldn't be relying on an internet forum for legal/regulatory advice. contact the registering authority in your state and ask them. no point getting caught and telling the officer: "But the Beer Baron told me I could!!"
  4. this was one of the best I've seen. It's a garage saurus customers car and I took this pic at fuji speedway. they had built a little support that goes in the boot and takes the force of the wing and distributes it onto the chassis. I'll try and find some pics of the inside.
  5. but hang on a minute. now you are comparing SR20 motor AND gearbox to an RB25 motor and gear box. I would say there is definately a weight difference in the box, and RB25 is heavier than RB20 (granted not by much).
  6. hooks, I'll trade you my 1990 ATTC for your 1991. anyone have 1992? I bought this bloody DVD the other day that claimed 1990-1993 ATTC turns out it's 1990,1993 with 1991 and 1992 sadly missing. It's the old channel 7 coverage though and is pretty good. channel 7 really put on some good coverage with their incar cams, and pole cam etc.
  7. the simple fact is a 255 on a 7.5inch rim will handle like rubbish. sure it will physically go on, but I wouldn't do it.
  8. i just sold a roll of the tomei exhaust wrap to john at unique autosports. if he doesn't need it any time soon he might sell it to you. they are at seven hills.
  9. stoner is looking pretty much unstoppable this year. it will be nice to see another aussie with a world title. shame his tyres weren't up to the task or he almost certainly would have had a podium.
  10. how ironic that this dame worked at tyrell and bought copiers for tyrell and tyrell are the only F1 team to be excluded from F1. and now she is pinned doing hubbys dirty work whilst he's working at mclaren, photcopying docs, and they now stand to be the second team ever to be excluded. i must say though that to me it's just typical sensationalist crap from the media. no way will FIA exclude mclaren. maybe a big fine, and they may even make them sit out 1 or 2 GPs (which FIA will love as it'll spice up the WDC and paint hamilton and alonso as the underdogs) but they wont bar them from the season.
  11. I seriously stay steer clear of the 2835Pro S and 3037 Pro S (is there even such a thng?). These turbos perform much better with an external gate. the pro S versions having internal gate compromises their exhaust housings a lot. external gate is the go.
  12. best idea is to ring a wrecker and ask them. they will have a pretty good idea. from my experience I would say the RB20 is about 20-30kg heavier than an SR, but not more than that.
  13. why change the headgasket at all? a standard RB25 with standard head gasket is fine for 240rwkw.
  14. the lap belts should not be mounted as far back as you have them. as it is now they are going over your lap, then they have to wrap around to behind the seat. that's not good.
  15. then why did you get a new built motor and never check the oil level on it? That is the most crucial time to ensure you have enough oil (and just as bad too much). I'll all sounds a bit bodge to me.
  16. lol, if an SR20 was 100kg lighter than an RB20 then the SR would be about 20kg...
  17. I've had heaps of different ones. the Greddy electric meters with peak hold and warning are very good, but look a bit old school now. In my eyes since they play a big part in the interior it's worth spending a bit extra. and I would say Defi is the only way to go. very good quality, lightweight and so easy to wire up and use.
  18. I still don't understand. are you telling us that you installed a new engine into your car, and didn't even check or change the oil? and then left it for 2 months? What is the wrecker had drained the oil before you fitted it? or what if that engine has been sitting around with the same oil in it for 2 years? My advice is forget wondering about why someone blocked up the dipstick hole. it's completely irrelevant. Get a dipstick tube, and a dipstick, put it in, then for gods sake change the oil!
  19. very nice indeed! some great moves there. It must have been reverse grid, or some quali problems because he seemed much better than the guys in front, but none the less there were some awesome passes in there. I liked the round the outside of the black one, but it's hard to pick a standout.
  20. yes, it's definately illegal to remove a rear steering rack from a car that was fitted with it form factory. as for your insurance being voided by it that is a question for your insurance company.
  21. yep, $10K easy for me, and that's not allowing for smacking a few walls here and there.
  22. how is it blocked off? are you sure that the dipstick isn't there but just the handle bit is broken off? I've seen that before.
  23. sounds like he lost the plot when he realised what poor value his so called $500 cap plan was.
