infected flow and GTST Sedan have both earned themselves warnings for their continuing bullshit. I am pretty lenient but when you persist with arguing and name calling then warning come out.

top thread ferni and good find on that US place. I was originally going to get one from from UAS which is the cheapest I could find in aus, but your link was cheaper. Anyway, I rang john and told him I found a cheaper place and that I was going to grab one direct from the US he made a few calls and told me if he ups his order to more units he gets a better price and can then do a more competetive price for us, plus he does warranty returns etc from his shop in sydney (as he buys from the aus distributor, not parallel import). that would save you shelling out $27USD is postage each way if something went wrong. Plus it keeps john in cardigans and short pants for another week or so. He also advised me strongly to get the backlit version as the 6V one he reckons is not so hot, and only the 12V version is backlit (has the blue screen). it's dead easy to just wire up a little plug so you can plug it in and out (I'm going to buy some cheap plugs from jaycar so I can have one in the GTR and one in the alfa). If you guys are keen John can do a good price for us, I would rather get it from him personally as I know the guy and know if something goes wrong with it he'll get it sorted. It's not up to me to say what price he is willing to do but I will say it's very competetive. very, very competetive. lol. Just email him [email protected] if you want to get in on it. maybe we should put this in motorsport section?

they may have the same size sidewalls? if you have 245/45 and you want to run 225/50 that is pretty much the same sidewall size. well 2mm difference (ie 8/10ths of fvk all). they will be miles better than your 245 street tyres. plus 16s are cheap.

Can I Mount My 4 Point Harness Like This?
Beer Baron replied to abcent's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
i would not personally use that to mount a harness. i would think any cams scrutineer would not be having a bar of it. (pun intended). Plus, it makes both your rear seats unuseable for no good reason. with a single harness the passenger side rear seat is still usable, and with un clipping 2 belts both rear seats are usable. -

try it now. -
actually if someone wanted to share I could be persuaded to buy a 60litre Motul Chrono 300V.

personally I would chose the K+N panel over the Apexi panel.

dude, if you know primary school maths you will know a 280lph pump will easily support a 700cc/m injector... 280 litres/h = 280,000 cc/h divide by 60 minutes = 4666.67 cc/min divide by 6 injectors = 777.78cc/min... if you are worried about dropping fuel pressure, then look at a fuel pressure gauge whilst running it up on the dyno.

yes it will exceed 550C

Momo Carbon Kevlar Race Seat
Beer Baron replied to Roy's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
If only my seat was kevlar instead of the lowly, wussy carbon i have I have personally tested the seat and can confirm it's the perfect hard core accessory for any wanna be racer. plus you can tell people you have an HRT Jason Bright seat in your car. worth buying it just for that I reckon. actually pretty good value, as making up the base frame take a bit of stuffing around, and getting someone to weld it up would cost a fair few quid. side mounts can run to a couple of hundred and rails the same so considering it's a bolt straight in option for 32 GTST, 32 GTR, 33 GTR, 34 GTR, S13 (slight mod) not bad at all. -
exactly! I am thinking about buying one of the 20 litre drums of motul. should be good value I reckon.

whoever came up with the bright idea of putting all these wanna be DJs with decks an amp and speakers at a car show needs a swift kick in the nuts. it used to be quite nice to walk around and look at cars, and talk about cars. now you just get earbashed by 20 different weeners cranking their music at once until it's just a mess of sound.

good advice from sewid who has done it all. the only thing I'd add to 'reccomended' part of the list is cam gears. they are not 100% needed, but can net an easy 20kw in the midrange and a few up top too. so for the money they are well worth it. do the timing belt at the same time. and another thing. sewid pretty much has the set-up he described but with a few little extras I think, and having been in his car I can confirm it goes like buggery. very brutal acceleration. weapon of a car.

yeah those deals are a bit of a rip though. i mean: second hand PS2 has got to be worth $100 and games say $30 each. The sad thing is those very games cost $100 each and the PS2 $700 so that's $1700 worth to get a $300 discount.

Tein Hr Coilover Options
Beer Baron replied to Hotwire's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
the first thing you need to establish is what rate are the current springs? -
how long does your $50 alignment take? since I have about 3 alingments or more a year I can tell you there is no way someone could properly align a skyline for $50 and make any money at all. they would be loosing massively. especially if you have adjustable camber and castor (which apparently you do, as do I). I would average the time of 1 wheel alignment guy and the machine at $100 per hour. It takes around 1.5 hours to get it done. (sometimes even double that if there is a lot to do). even typing out: front right toe front left toe rear right toe rear left toe front right camber front left camber rear right camber rear left camber front right castor front left castor traction rod check adjust check (for each of the settings above) takes up $50 of my time just to type it out! each of those tasks will take around 10 min to get spot on.

every now and then autobarn have a sale (like 20% off all oil) and they stock motul chrono 300V, so that is the time and place to get it.

dude, blowing your motor is not a small part! lol hehe i don't think i've ever really busted anything in the GTR. well i busted the OS tripple plate (too many trackdays/launches/skidpad/etc), i've worn out some tyres, worn out some brakes, done a few CV boots, but other than that i've spent all the dough on mods and maintenance.

turning key to accessory wont give you anything sadly. turning the key to on will prime the pump, but only for around 2 seconds and i think only once every 5 min or so. (ie you can't keep doing it over and over). on the controller you press both the up and down button at the same time and it gives you what they call 'differential pressure' which is fuel pressure - manifold pressure (either positive or negative pressure). This gives you the same effect as removing the vac line from the reg to set the base pressure. but you need the defi boost gauge installed too to use that feature (which I do anyway). marco, the nismo reg does not have a gauge port sadly. so to install a guage you will need to cut the fuel line and install a T-piece and a gauge off that.

i guess it just goes to show what it takes to keep the ol GTR on the road I know I could have purchased a small south american country for the dough I throw at mine.
-
$75 for a wheel alignment will get you rubbish. They will most likely just do front toe and that's it. A skyline needs a full 4 wheel alignment (front toe, rear toe, rear camber and with your bushes front caster too). This will cost between $140 and $200. the install prices they quote is not too bad. possibly a bit of fat there to allow for unknown problems.

are you actually painting the engnie? or are you talking about the rocker covers, cam belt cover and coil cover? if it's the engine then personaly I wouldn't paint it anything other than black. If it's the covers then what ever takes your fancy.

yes! That is the only reason I bought a sard reg over the nismo one. I wanted to have a fuel pressure gauge tucked away with a warning light. a fuel pump has died on me once before, and I'm paranoid about it now (and fuel surge too). the beauty of my sard reg is the defi sensor just plugs into the side, and when setting it up I can hit a switch on the defi controller which eliminates boost/vacum from the reading so I can accurately see the base pressure withiout having to unplug the vac line etc. but yes, you can t one in, just a bit of mucking around.
