  1. Tape didn't work for me. Grey Silicon worked. Your issue sounds strange. It wouldn't be a shagged ignitor? Check it plugged in well and there's no corrosion.
  2. Michael, So the old turbo that was a GT3040 you said.. Any added lag with this gt3540?
  3. The cams are identical in spec the only difference is the vct switch over. The N/A being later. So I'd say was occuring is torque starts to fall off slightly then vct switches over and torque picks up again. With the turbo earlier switch over point it may very well be that its switching before the torque drop off and when it does switch it simply holds that torque a little better giving a more linear feel compared to the n/a switch over point. lol .. I hope that made sense.
  4. Bitdefender has had no issues catching the exploit and preventing it from running. I have MS Visual Studio installed. I've attached a screen grab of what was picked up and when.
  5. What were the afrs? And whos dyno? Thats almost too good power for your mods. Either: 1. The dyno was reading high 2. The fuel pump is on its way out and its running lean 3. Its a complete freak Do make sure you wind the boost up on the dyno as something sounds suss. Wouldn't want it leaning out and going pop. :S
  6. I'd suggest to play with the gap. Mine for example of 0.6 and 0.7mm idles like a fart. It feels slightly rough on idle. 0.8+ its baby smooth. I have found for mysetup 0.9mm is fine for up to 15-16psi.
  7. Even if the federal spec sheet states 255/40ZR17 - Standard rim - 8.5", approved rim 8-9"? Maybe its a small 255. Federal_595RS.pdf
  8. Spoolup, What plenum are you running?
  9. They are definitely a good bang for buck tyre. Federal are soon to restructure their labelling. The SS595 will be 595. A new entry will be the 595EVO, I am told they will be a touch softer than the 595's. Then there's the semi slick 595RS. The current SS595's are damn cheap, nothing comes close in performance for the price point. i.e 235/45/17 ~$160-180 per corner. Motor magazine did the test on the SS595's. Not the semi slicks. I'm trying tp find out if a 245/40/17 on 8" +35 rim will fit under the front guards of a gtst. I don't really like the idea of playing with different aspect/size tyres. All though it would be nice to throw a set of 595RS 255/40/17 on rear 8" rims, they apparently fit 8" rims ok. SLY33... Have you tried that exhaust manifold yet?
  10. Going by his mods Dyno junkie - 128.3 rwkW! Mods - filter and catback. There's no pfc. Just before my cat died second and third gear would occasionionally see the cat overtemp light flash. Initially I thought it was the pfc showing knock or a sensor reaching its max, it wasn't.
  11. Don't go for ANYTHING other than a 3" straight through. No fancy spirals or smaller inside pipes. The muffler/resonator must have a 3" pipe through its guts and the holes must be smooth to both look at and relatively smooth to touch. No noticable metal protruding from the hole. Going for anything less will loose power. A large body muffler or large resonator that is straight through does keep noise down. The trick is for the muffler body to be large. My exhaust is fairly quiet when cruising, and there is absolutely ZERO drone. Only when you flatten it does it roar. And its a 10% straight through exhaust.
  12. Nice.. But 6speed auto? What auto is being run?
  13. Awesome.... It can be done. Top stuff. Blow your trumpet all you want. Its well deserved. So you simply richened it up slightly (14.2afr)? pulled a little ignition or?
  14. The cold start stumble is common with R32's especially. I've seen them do it with bran new injectors. Its just a gremlin that can be tuned out with an aftermarket ecu. Generally slightly richer mixtures around the 400rpm load points 4-8 from memory OR richer cold start cranking ms.
  15. Looks good Madaz, not a bad effort from a Whale.
  16. Just have to be carefull of badly/cheaply made resonators as that is what kills power even if it is straight through.
  17. A/C box and Heater box that reside under the passenger dash?
  18. When I was running stock injectors once it hit 100% it stayed there and fuel requirements only increased as rpm did so even if it wasn't making more power. Mine hit 100% duty at around 5200rpm at WOT from memory.
  19. How have you checked cooler piping? Pressurised the system to 8-10psi? Thats really the only way. Check fuel pump. Have fun.
  20. Have a look at the muffler/resonator. Ensure its 3" inside and doesn't step down. Also ensure the perforated holes are smooth and don't stick in to the exhaust airflow. If they do.... you loose power. My exhaust is quiet on cruise but loud when you open it up. It has the largest straight through rear muffler that fit.
  21. Its not about being better built. Both motors are able to make enough reliable power for traction on the street to be a problem. Drag only application. Completely different ball game.
  22. radius as in a sticky uppery top. Yes it could be chopped down. Not sure if its wise though. Either way. I think Racespecs bushes are a better option.
  23. I just bolted them up. There's only 'just' enough thread. It has jacked the arse end up around 10-15mm though.
  24. So what did it make on 12pounds?
  25. I found this pic on the internet. It does look identical so I'd say yes.. Its the 1N4004
