  1. Wait i just re read your post and realized you were talking about an S1, and the end tanks rather than pipework. Lol Sorry dude, not enough sleep... Either way.. thats an option grind grind grind! Cut cut cut! You just need to take your time and think things through
  2. Yup i had that issue big time. My front bar is slightly different than the run of the mill R33 so i had to take drastic measures with mine. This is what the Drivers side looks like, unmolested. And heres my molestation of the passengers side to clear the piping. As you can see i had to remove nearly all of the black plastic, and pull the brass pins from the plug itself and cut it down flush so i could bend them out of the way for my spade terminals to push on.. There was no other way to make it work for me haha. Doesnt look that shit hot, but it works, and i havnt had a problem with it in over a year The good thing is, i believe most of the R33's share the same round orange indicator. So the housing shouldnt be hard to locate if you return to stock for selling etc. Good luck!
  3. Its not always the case. When you are IN Australia its better, but when your not, its doesnt seem to be worth it. For some reason, your postage is heinously expensive. (to NZ) and i dare say a shit load more to Sweeden! I def would have gone YellowJacket if the shipping had'nt killed the cost benefit. They are on special at Nengun at the moment. Dam good price. Yellow's from the NZ distributer were going to cost $575NZD+ Local shipping, (approx $452AUD) Nengun cost me $640NZD to my door. (approx $500AUD) Sign up with them to get an accurate price. If your not logged in the prices appear to be a bit more.
  4. Sounds like the car could have been in a prang?
  5. One thing you could to to make sure you got it, is throw a stocking over the end of one of the vacume pipes when you put them together, that way it will still flow air, but the bit of the plug will get caught in the stocking.
  6. Nah. They all just do it regardless of track use. The Americans complained about it when the 7's were new, it was doing it daily driving. My mates 8 he bought with 28K on the clock, they were ok, but after 6 months they were pink. No trackdays.
  7. Rain doesnt hurt cars you know? Got any pics of the damage? T-Boned cars, depending on how hard it was hit isnt the easiest to straighten. The Geometry will probly never be perfect again
  8. They are pretty similar. The Evo ones are slightly larger though. Just. And, they are a f**k load cheaper than GTR items. You can pick up a pair of Evo 6/7/8 Fronts for as little as $250 NZD over here. Good luck finding R34 GTR Brembos for that price.. $1K+++
  9. He didnt ask what happens in a GTR
  10. Fans dont actually suck hot air down... they draw it up to the ceiling, push it across the ceiling and back down the walls And its a completely different situation, as that fan isnt actually trying to draw air through anything. Its just moving it around. I think its been proven more often than not that in Australian conditions, shrouds are a MUST for the clutch fan in traffic.
  11. Twice the distance from the middle to one end The problems you will encounter with a blown turbo is... No boost.
  12. I actually just had a Splitfire box and "manual" here. But from memory, No they wont. The part number SF-DIS-005 will fit ECR33 and BNR34. A quick search confirmed. NO they wont fit. ER34 part umber it SF-DIS-008.
  13. Could have popped an intercooler hose too
  14. There might be a tiny dribble of anything still left in the turbo. But remember, its a drain, it only has oil in it when the oils being pumped into the turbo.
  15. Yeah id say for a fact thats an R34 side mount. From what you can see it looks as if its about 17 rows. Give or take from what you cant see. The amount its bulging out the bottom was similar to mine, and as i said it was putting so much pressure on the undertray that all the bolts/screws pooped out and the front wheel ate the rest of it in a smokey heap Pull the bottom off and throw a tape measure over the thickness of it. Im pretty sure they are about 70-75mm thick.
  16. No problem dude! Theres no way the stock one could stick below the bar unless something was really odd! You'l know pretty quick. Heres a top view. The size difference is huge. Good luck! Post up them pics when you get them!
  17. That sounds a bit odd, because for it to drop it would have to be dropping out of the intercooler pipes too. Are you sure it doesnt have an R34 sidemount? They sit a little lower than the R33, and could stick past the undertray slightly. I know when i did mine (before mt FMIC) it popped all the screws for the undertray because it was too tall, and there was alot of pressure on them. Sorry it doesnt have the front on. But you can see how much lower it is. I just cant see it having dropped as the piping inside the engine bay would be holding onto it.
  18. If you unplug the AFM, it should idle perfect. Its one test out of the way
  19. All the random odd noises in my R33 went away after i changed all my belts, tensioners and waterpump.
  20. The BOV is recirculated right? Thats what the black pipe passing the radiator is? It could be as simple as an air leak in that dodgy looking manifold
  21. A gasket can be used more than once you know. You got unlucky. They are alot better than they used to be. I had one on my R33 that was regularly tracked, and daily driven. No problems with mine at all. Bar the initial boost creep that was a fault of earlier designs. I changed mine, however for different requirements.
  22. This. IF its steel, you could always hi-temp paint it before wrapping. Dont see the point though, its only standing still it gets hot, without airflow.
