  1. Got a picture, what brand?
  2. Just tell the guy to fix it before he sells it to you.
  3. Could be a boost leak.
  4. Give Toll IPEC a call. They were very reasonable when i asked them about shipping big things. http://www.toll.com.au/contact/long_ipec.html
  5. When my exhaust was stock and I installed a front dump and hi-flow cat the sound changed very little. I could now here a high pitched sound related to the turbo but that was all. You may have an exhaust leak.
  6. have you got any pics of the muffler?
  7. The monaro is said to be quicker than a V8 supercar. At least thats what I was hearing during the final race of this years Nations cup.
  8. I watched a lot of Nations Cup this year and am a big fan of the series already. I always said to people that it would be great to see the GTR in it. So now I am stoked to hear it may happen for 2004. Whatever happens, we need to put pressure on the right people to donate some money to get SAU sticker on the car somewhere In fact we should start the fund now. I'd donate $100 towards it.
  9. Right. The stock cooler is not going to be able to cope with 14psi. The air is therefore going to be less dense and you will not be seeing the performance you should. To compound this, is your pod filter in a enclosure or partitioned off from the engine bay? If not then again you will be sucking in enormously hot air from the engine bay. All of this spells hot air in the engine, meaning crap all improvement over a stock car.
  10. I love 3rd. Its the overtaking gear of choice. Pulls very nicely all the way to the red bit
  11. I say sell your car and buy an astra. But seriously, how much research did you do before just upping the boost to 14psi on the stock cooler? Then you just chucked a BOV you had lying around on? And now you're having problems? What did you expect?
  12. if you're going to spend a lot of money doing it up, im sure the RB25DET engine swap would be more practical. I would go for a R33 GTST over a GTS4 though.
  13. I would have no problem paying $130k for the car if it lives up to it's name. Of course I wouldn't have to buy it, I could just lease it from Jimbo
  14. For sale, the parts required to build the famous Autospeed boost controller as featured in this article: http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_0670/articl...?popularArticle The parts included are: 1 x R07-200-RNKG Inline 07 ¼ Regulator Relieving 7Bar; 1 x V07-200-NNKG Inline 07 ¼ Relief Valve 7 Bar; 2 x 2069-02 07 Spring 0.7 Bar (brown); The 0.7Bar springs have already been installed in the valves. This boost control system is easy to setup and provides much better boost control than your average bleed valve setup as it is designed to alleviate spikes and creep. I bought these valves but soon after have gotten hold of a PowerFC with Apexi boost controller option so I dont need them anymore. They are brand new, still in original packaging and have never been used in a car (shiny!). Price $80 including express post to anywhere in Aus.
  15. should be fine.
  16. Well I have a 93 R33 as well but haven't had any problems with the aircon. Except i had to get it regassed the other day for the princely sum on $99 inc labour. Unless the car is an absolute bargain don't buy it with obvious problems, just move on to the next Skyline. There's a million around. Parts for the aircon will be available easily and any aircon place will be able to work on it. The only issue is if you need to replace major parts like the compressor or get the entire system repiped. Worst case you're looking at up to two grand including diagnosing the problem. In other words, it could cost you more than the difference between this car and another bargain R33.
  17. The GTR pump might be cheaper and would suit that application.
  18. i would go for the R33 GTST. Cheap and big.
  19. drive cautiously a few km/h below the speed limit.
  20. Ill ask my TT Soarer owning workmate if hes interested.
  21. Dude, its a compressor wheel, its inhaling a lot of air. Its supposed to make some noise and there is a very good chance it will sound like a whistle sometimes.
  22. Was the XR6T auto as well? If not, I cant see how anyone would even bother comparing a manual to an auto car. Tiptronic does not mean anything except for sort of fancy slush box. If someone went through the trouble of setting up this comparison, why didnt they bother getting a real transmission to go with it.
