I believe the GT-t climate control unit would also plug in but it's missing like 1 feature (push button to read ambient temp)
-
That top "CD player" is a sat nav system The CD drive is for the map CD/DVD. Its a bummer too because you cant make it work in Australia (the nav) and it kinda clutters up your dash. One option would be to pull the unit out and get the non-nav climate control unit from Yahoo Japan auctions - then you get more space for your audio gear. I see them go pretty cheap occasionally.

oh and i vote anything but 400r - it's played out.

Series 1 had two different front bars. Maybe you mean series 2? Or series 1 GTR?
-
I can attest to welding a socket on working - I have had this problem with a dodgy set of "lock" nuts.... Well they sure were secure, perhaps a little too secure.

Is your's a Vspec? This mod only works for MFD's with TV buttons on the MFD itself as far as i know. This is my interior before I put an aftermarket CD player in: http://www.sewid.org/mycar/BNR34/BeforeCom...tos/photo10.jpg

no pics on me at the moment unforunately but there are no gaps at all. You will find that all aftermarket CD players come with little plastic surrounds that can be modified pretty easily if you find that there are some gaps. The way the R34 dash is designed tho the brushed aluminium covers the gaps up quite well. And yeah, I can watch DVD's through the factory monitor. This requires a small amount of modification to the MFD. You have to pull it apart and solder two wires to various pins and mount an RCA socket on the back of it. Very simple to do. Not too sure what you're asking? I have got a 1 DIN sized CD/DVD/MP3 player in the top slot and a map pocket in the 2nd DIN slot. I have my DVD player connected to the MFD via the simple modification you can do but my DVD player can output NTSC or PAL regardless of the DVD region. But yeah I hardly ever use it. As for converting the MFD to receive aussie TV signals i dont think its possible or worthwhile. As far as I know the TV button isn't anything to do with receiving Jap TV at all and simply a toggle switch to go from MFD to NTSC input mode for things like sat nav, and other AV factory options.

Yeah my car started first go too. But my battery is quite new. On an older car its less and less likely to happen.
-
You wont damage it by putting it on a flatbed. My front bar sits so very low and there were no problems at all. I highly recommend doing that and transporting it to you destination. If you book a flatbed truck the day before you go down then you are likely to get a better rate too.

34 GTR wheels with tyres
sewid replied to ricknismo's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
These wheels are awesome, 18" and lighter than many lightweight aftermarket rims, forged and awesome looking. If you cant see the value then dont bother posting your offer, Tempe tyres might be better for you -
If you like the look of it, take very good care of it, they only offered that option for 1998 40th anniversary editions and only a few purchasers took the option. Most of the 40's have the standard Series 2 front bar..... edit: I believe nissan called that trim level (with the GTR look alike spoilers) the GTS25t Type-MR. I have the Nissan brochure around here somewhere.... Not to be mistaken for the 280 Type-MR of course (2.8litre GTSt)...... edit2: someone with Nissan FAST software can confirm that

Hmm deposit on the 2007 GTR or one of these now............ Need a bigger garage first i spose.

34 GTR transponder key trouble
sewid replied to ricknismo's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
It's proximity RF based device like a proxy swipe card. It requires no power source in the key itself instead the power source comes from the RF signal in the ignition barrel. So if the car's battery is flat it will stop working, if the component in the ignition barrel somehow malfunctions it might also fail to start. I guess since the car was not sold here your only replacement key options are Nissan Japan and might be tricky. My car came with 2 keys both with the chip in them. Nissan Australia will probably be able to help somehow. Also your nearest workshop with CONSULT might be able to help somehow... I have always feared losing my keys for this reason - I wonder if replacing the ECU disables this security feature? -
Nice 40th Anniversary one there. I particularly like the optional factory front bar and rear spoiler. Very rare to see one like that, only seen one other at auction like it.

I have recently written two quick search plugins for Firefox which can potentially make using the Yahoo Japan auctions easier for some. The first one enables you to quickly copy and paste a URL into the search bar to translate it from Japanese into English using Worldlingo. This seems to be pretty decent translation. The second one just enables you to type amounts in Yen and convert them to AUD using the XE currency convertor quickly, again from the search bar. To install them download the zips here: http://www.sewid.org/firefox/translatejap-1.0.zip http://www.sewid.org/firefox/convertyen-1.0.zip Unzip them into c:Program FilesFirefoxsearchplugins and restart Firefox. You will have new icons in the search bar now. Another useful search plugin not written by me is this one on firefox's website which enables you to search Yahoo JAPAN auctions from the search bar, it's number 4 in the list: http://mycroft.mozdev.org/quick/yahoo.html Anyway let me know if these are useful to anyone.

Shipping large parts out of Japan costs a fortune. You'd be better off trying to get a body kit in a container with a company who imports container loads of parts regularly. Otherwise go to a local bodykit manufacturer.

god I wasted so much of my time on this game - I have just recently quit it and my 60 warlock on Proudmoore.... I might go back to explore Blackwing Lair but really cant see the point anymore... http://www.wowpm.com/view_profile.html?num=4554 was me... Was in an awesome guild, had the world first Onyxia kill and about 8th guild to kill Ragnaros, had all the gear - nothing left to do tho...

Well i got the car out of the vault so this better still be on. Although in chatto right now the weather looks crook. -
Pics of my old GTSt with 20% tints. If your car was built before 1994 then you can claim the tints were installed in 1993 or early 1994 and they are therefore exempt from the laws pertaining to window tints (in NSW anyway) and can thus put any % tint on. http://www.sewid.org/mycar/ECR33/

These are respray's i guess? any other info about them? Wonder why the offset is +12 but +14 for the other LMGT4's (edit: nevermind , checked the Rays Japan website and they say +12 is the right BNR34 offset) If you haven't guessed im after a set of 18 or 19 inch LMGT4's for my R34 GTR in gloss black - I guess any LMGT4 set would do as I could respray them... Please send info

Help .....Blue RB26DETT !!!!!!!!
sewid replied to Beauie's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
It sounds like you got the RB26DETTFBE (Fluro Blue Edition). Rumoured to make about 800hp from the factory. Just kidding - it's very easy to get the covers painted and that is probably what was done.
