  1. haha yeah it's hard to use a ruler to take a good measuremeant of that while taking a photo. But i'd say 12 - 14cm high. I don't exactly know what you mean but the exhaust doesn't stick out far at all. It ends almost exactly where the stock exhaust ended. Also it's not very loud at idle but when you hit 4 or 5 grand it starts to really growl so its excellent for putting around town and not getting noticed by cops.
  2. I have never been pulled over in any Skyline i have owned. Except once for an RBT. Touch wood!
  3. I called Schenker about being a customs agent, they wanted a bit more money than CGL for everything. I believe Mesei imports recommends schenker though so maybe ask those guys who have importer via Mesei.
  4. Yeah, there is a few guys on here with 4" exhausts on their GTRs. Im using a compliance small body cat at the moment (2.5" piping) so need to upgrade pretty desperately. I'm thinking of going with BATMBL's big body cat but a real performance brand cat might be able to flow better. Magic Performance are supposed to have these, the number is 02 9939 1644. I should just call it but i've been busy today
  5. I just went downstairs to take some pics. Check them out: http://www.sewid.org/mycar/BNR34/ExhaustMisc/
  6. Same - I have no problem with this though
  7. In on page 1. I hate pizza - do they have ribs ?
  8. Has anyone got any info about these Magic brand cats? There is a small blurb about them in HPI mag this month on page 10. The photo isn't exactly indicitive of the final product. Anyone used them before or have a link?
  9. Yeah this month's HPI is pretty much "SAU Magazine issue 1"
  10. Plus it's more fashionable in Japan to have an angled tip! You don't want to look silly now do ya? Join the dark side !!!
  11. Here some tips for guys importing under SEVS who are required to go to the "pits" when attempting to register their car: 1) The "pits" in this case is the nearest RTA Vehicle Identification Inspection location. Run by the VIIU (Vehicle Identification Inspection Unit) branch of the RTA. This is not a roadworthy check. 2) The inspection takes 40 minutes to complete 3) The best appointment time is 1.40pm. The VIIU guys break for lunch at 1pm and do not do any inspections until about 1.30 - 1.40pm. If you book at any other time you may have to wait around until the previous inspection completes. A couple of guys who arrived after my 1.40pm inspection had to wait an extra 15mins or so. 4) In NSW there is a VIIU location in Penrith, Silverwater and Botany only.
  12. Apexi N1 is an angled exhaust (hence the N1 designation). I recently invested in a Trust Power Extreme II. It is also N1 style but i have found it grows on you, plus in reality the angled ones do flow better because there is not a big 90 degree bend just before the muffler. I bought it at Advan performance in NSW who are actually a great bunch of guys and stuck the exhaust on while I waited for only $35. Even though it's a direct bolt on - the effort saved by using their hoist to undo the carbon fibre under tray and shit is totally worth $35. Anyway these guys import trust gear into Australia and would ship it interstate - they always have Trust exhausts in stock too.
  13. oh yeah i didnt look at the full picture. I have not seen that before !
  14. Yeah that is part of the factory electric adjustable front spolier. I think. It usually breaks off and you dont see too many around. Pretty useless but is sorta cool if it works.
  15. I have yet to see another one while driving mine and I see $100k + cars every two minutes around these parts. Cant be too many around.
  16. eb in chatswood denied me when i went there. They said they'd sold out. I might just wait till it gets on the Xbox or PC.
  17. Check all your fuses dude. Good luck with that you may have fried the alarm and permanently immobilised the car. Any auto-electrician will be able to remove the broken alarm.
  18. problem is half the time i've already bought it before i dont want it anymore
  19. haha this describes how i react to just about every new gadget that comes out.
  20. I did start it sorry I'm just used to driving that road every day and overtaking the bus drivers at that exact spot. Force of habit - I usually drive very sensibly at meets/cruises hehe. Mal your car has got a lot of grunt and i would love to line up against it at a proper venue one day soon. Never underestimate the ford turbo beast. The Crystal car wash on Victoria Ave is ok - my line was washed/polished there on Thursday and they got it pretty clean pretty quick. Nothing special but yeah. Im so up for the next meet though.
  21. holy crap that looks good. There's not enough paint on there to seriously change the way the cooler works. Especially since it's such a large cooler to begin with. The R34 GTR cooler is bare aluminium whereas the R33 one was black... Strange.
  22. Yeah both power figures are innacurate - the NEO probably makes more than 206kw as well. There was a gentlemans agreement between manufacturers in the 90s that limited power output to 280ps (206kw). This is why cars kept coming out faster and faster and with more and more torque but still had 206kw. Figures are at the flywheel. If i could find a 4wd dyno I would not remove the drive shafts as I never really plan on leaving the car like that so am not personally interested in its RWKW figure. Bit of a hassle and im too lazy is the real reason though
  23. the power output of the RB25DET neo and the RB26DETT might be the same on the nissan brochure but in real life they are quite different. The RB26DETT revs higher and puts out 50Nm more torque. The stock power figure is probably closer to 250kw. Fujitsubo claim about 247kw for a stock BNR34 on their exhaust website. I offer to put mine on any 4 wheel dyno. I dont know where the nearest one is.
  24. Ah that makes sense. RAWS get to charge a bit on top but it possibly may actually streamline getting import approval. At the moment RAWS get import approvals in 8 days and private importers wait 20 + days. Then again RAWS will now be limited to 100 cars per year so there income is going to be restricted by the new rules. Therefore they are probably going to have to charge a bunch more money to stay afloat.
