  1. I guess because the rest of the world has known about this car for a few years at least and it never seems to get any closer to release. I watched those videos you're talking about a year ago and was impressed but nowdays it's more like vapor-car. They keep promising and never deliver.
  2. I'm pretty sure I saw that black GTR the other day - funnily enough it was when i was down at the dock visiting my own black GTR. It was a bit of a spin out. He had silver LMGT4s and number plate was AWB. I am going to get LMGT4s for mine. I love the stock wheels but on the GTR the offset isnt very aggressive and hence they sort of sit back in from the edge of the guards too far. I just dont know which colour yet, all of them would look good on a black R34. White, bronze or silver????
  3. Yeah importing is all about risks vs. benefit and judging for yourself whether you can take that risk. Im sure you wouldn't have if you didn't think you could pull it off so kudos to you for trying. Worst case you could part the GTR out and make your money back.
  4. I have to say that looks great even though it's missing bits on the inside. The front and rear lips may have been removed and placed inside the car by the supplier to make shipping safer as they are easy to damage. How did you last so long without having the car!?
  5. Hehe kiss your money goodbye! I just spent my first money on the car - under 900 bucks for a full set of brand new slotted rotors aint bad.
  6. Doesn't suprise me that things went missing at the bond storage yard. The dock seemed a lot less dodgy looking to me, everything is out in the open with security and etc. The bond storage yard i saw was completely dodgy. Out the back of a warehouse in a dust bowl with basically no fences and people coming and going all day long. The employees themselves were pretty shocking as well. There is need for reform in that industry.
  7. I believe quantum suspension is able to get around the laws of physics and see into the future to provide better ride for roads you plan on driving on before you even get to them.
  8. Where was the bond storage yard? Was it Hobbs Bros?
  9. Thats so weird. At the sydney dock they have jump start packs and they take one with them when you go to retrieve the car. I'm sure this happens all the time and that's why they are prepared. My car started without it first go though so i was happy with that. Congrats on picking the car up finally. I wonder if I couldve got one of those unregistered vehicle things in NSW.
  10. You dont even own a car but you have bought neons? I say install them on your pushbike
  11. Can be carbon buildup on the plugs. The carbon becomes very hot so even after ignition ceases the red hot glowing carbon can ignite residual fuel. I might be wrong. Pull out the plugs and have a look.
  12. The S4 is V8 these days but in that model is 2.7litre twin turbo V6.
  13. I hope you're joking. Where i choose to park my car for a few minutes for a quick photo is not any of your business.
  14. Dude ill bring my camera to work this week and take some photos if you want. Cant wait to see the GTR and S4 parked side by side.
  15. Happy to hear it too. Its true, a decent R34 GTR can be imported from Japan under SEVS, sight unseen (auction photos arent really anything) and turn out just great. And you can save yourself $10 - 35k in the process (as opposed to buying one already here from an private/import yard sale).
  16. Yes of course they would. You must select the same width for all four wheels - this is the same as any 4wd vehicle.
  17. Mate. Next time your in Sydney drop buy and try out my car - I don't know how you could look anywhere else There is something to be said for walking into a dealership and actually seeing the car before buying though. Wheres the adventure there???? :Pimp2: Heres something to look at while you think it over
  18. What does the Option subscription cost you? I keep buying it in Kinokuniya but its $14 an issue. Seems expensive considering you buy it with a single 500 yen coin over there.
  19. definately NOT a stock cooler.
  20. Express post them on the last day of October.
  21. Steam cleaning cost me $210.10 and they basically didnt do a single thing to the car. There is absolutely no discernable difference from when i took it there to when i took it home. I paid the $210.10 and said thanks very much but inside i was thinking this is the biggest ****ing rort ever.
  22. I've been looking at that flashpoint - seems it retails for about $590 or so installed but doesn't really have any major benefits over the BW10000-3 which is cheaper. The problem with automatic window winders is that all alarm retailers charge a load of money for them. Black Widow quoted me $200 for 2 windows. I built a circuit from parts I found at Dick Smith for $14 that will do the same thing. Keep in mind Dick smith retail prices are high already.
  23. For SEVS: Import Approval: * Sign agreement with an approved RAWS for your model * DOTARS Import approval - your RAWS applies for this for you - You do not need to provide ID or De-reg document to get this under SEVS Customs and AQIS: * Import Approval * Bill of Lading (B/L) * Photocopy of your RAWS license to import pre-charged equipment (aircon) * Clear photocopy of license When you go to pickup your car: * Delivery order for AAT (Australian Amalgamated Terminals) which will be provided by your customs agent * AQIS inspection sheet * Bill of lading When you go for steam cleaning: * AQIS Sheet When you go to the compliance center: * Original De-registration sheet from Japan Throughout the entire process: * A very open wallet
  24. Does flashpoint have a battery backup and internal siren?
  25. I'm only using the alarm for insurance purposes. The real security will be in the combination of alarm, tracker and the physical security where the car is garaged. I really dont want any of those two way pager alarms - they are useless and i am not into carrying any extra doo-dads around. I have prices on those two alarms installed now: - Mongoose M80G is $549 installed at Lifestyle Store Paramatta - BlackWidow BW10000-3 is $510 installed onsite
