  1. brant remotes are the ugliest and have poor range. my new alarm's remotes aren't pretty but the range rules.
  2. Could be registered today.... The next couple of hours will determine it's fate
  3. Yeah I feel your pain. Compliance only took 2 days, waiting for DOTARS to approve the plate was painful and took 10 days all up. I can't complain though as that's how long they say it will take. The plate is going on the car today so I can get regoed. The only issue might be RTA inspection if they want it. Sydneykid says they're inspecting all SEVS imports so its highly probable.
  4. How about making these eyelids for the R34? I'll buy some if you can. I will get a scale drawing with measurements and shape soon. I'll copy them off AboBob at the next SAU NSW thing next week. Closeups:
  5. ps: my cat did believe it. You were right.
  6. ok bye.
  7. it's stainless steel. It's a bit of a bargain at that price. I put together a mild steel exhaust for my old R33 GTS-t for: $200 muffler (stainless, twin tip, from Just Jap) $160 hi-flow cat $200 front/dump pipe $300 custom 3" mandrel bent piping, resonator, and installation (local exhaust shop). The system was freaking awesome and had a great sound and more power all round. So yeah. It can be done cheaper if you shop around.
  8. Sheeeeet dude that really sucks... What the hell was the deal with the wheels then? Did the supplier just lie the whole time about getting the wheels on? I never saw any books in my car either, i have a feeling they just get stolen and flogged on yahoo auctions.
  9. Depends on the kit. A good condition plastic kit will go on and sprayed a factory colour for $500. The more work the more money.
  10. One more thing - bring a Jerry can of petrol if you can. BP Ultimate if you can. I have a Jerry can to lend if you need it (im in North Ryde at work). They cost about $20 from Bunnings for a 10litre.
  11. 1) This is the fun part - as long as your car runs - you drive it It's a quick 500 meters down James Craig Road to Hobbs Bros drive way. Make sure you scope it out first so you dont fly past it ... Take it easy though because technically this isn't "legal" but hiring a tow truck for 500 meters is stupid. 2) You pay hobbs when theyre done and you're picking the car up.
  12. Also remember that a sly $50 to Brendan at Hobbs Bros will probably get your car bumped up the chain a fair bit.... Hes good like that
  13. Yeah sorry to hear it dude. I had the same thing happen to me almost. I went down to the docks at 7am to get my car - they said "wheres this and this document?" I said "WTF??!?!" So i called Colin and he said "Oh sorry - yeah you have to come to Botany to get this". So i went to Botany and got the document and was back at the dock by 8.20am, got the car to Hobbs by 9am. The thing to remember is that there is only two customs inspections per day at Hobbs bros. One at 8am and one at 1pm. If your car isnt ready for one of those it has to wait until the next one. My car was done by 1pm luckily and i could pick it up at 3pm. I dunno how Colin can keep forgetting to tell people that they need to grab docs from Botany... I mean how obvious is it for him... if i was you dude I would leave the car at the docks today and pick it up at 7am tommorrow and try and get it to Hobbs Bros for the 1pm quarantine inspection. It's far more secure at the docks
  14. There is a chance that i will be getting the car regoed tommorrow so i will do it then. At the moment its locked away in a garage about an hours drive away. Either way i should know soon!! Sorry bout that.
  15. If you really are keen on Brant. Go the AA02A and get the Skylines club discount. You are in the club aren't you? If not it's time to sign up because you will save $60 on the AA20A and the membership only costs $50 or so. You'll be up overall.
  16. breaking news. Australia isn't Japan. !
  17. 13.5 appears to be less than 13.7. Anyway it's all up to the drivers. The supra driver has a harder job putting the power down to the rears so the GTR driver always has an advantage. Stock for stock the GTR should beat the supra and i have seen a few videos that agree with me.
  18. Hmm... ok so you paid $1000 in Australia for broker fees. You already paid $100 GST on top of that. Do they want to charge duty + GST on top of the 1100? So you pay GST twice - I cant see how that works. So say they want to charge duty on the $1000?. Ok $150 big deal take it you nazi. If the government want's to spend time and money investigating me over $150 i would rather just hand it over to them.
  19. if depreciation scares you then it's time to buy a $500 commodore and accept it. Car's are not a good investment and you buy them to drive and not make money on. BTW, the R32 GTR are not likely to depreciate any time soon with the 15 year old import rule going.
  20. lwells: dont fit a nemesis. I dont have anything personal against them it's just that the only benefit is the extra immobilisers. I have had a brant before and i would not get one again. I have a different brand alarm installed on the GTR now - it cost less and is twice as good as my brant was. Go figure. Insurance companies don't give two shits what alarm you have as long as it has 3 immobilisers/is standards approved. Fit any alarm with 3 immobilisers that is standards certified then fit a tracker (contact wrxhoon on these forums as his son is an engineer and works on them for a living). The tracker + alarm fitted should cost in the order of 1200 - 1700 depending on what you get and who installs it. Btw, the tracker i'm refering to does not have ongoing monthly fees and does not rely on some proprietory network like quiktrack. It uses the GSM network and a GPS receiver.
  21. Discpads.com.au - although I didnt use the website i just called the guy and gave him the part numbers i needed. I faxed the order through with my Credit card on Monday and picked the rotors up from their Silverwater office on Friday. They usually dont keep stock for cars like ours but takes less than 1 week to make up whatever you need.
  22. You dont have to swap the bumper support as you can cut the S1 bumper support to fit. A bloke in perth has done it.
  23. $231 per rotor for fronts (slotted 4000 series) 324mm $200 per rotor for rears (slotted standard) 300mm The GTT takes 310mm fronts and 297mm rears so might be a little cheaper. Prob not much though.
