  1. I'm looking for the same thing. I had Brant in my R33 and it was not great - definately not worth the 800 or so they want for the base model. It really is just a run-of-the-mill alarm and the remotes are ugly. I have been calling around to find alarms worth using, so far I have the following on the list: - Black Widow BW10000-3 with a few optional bits - Mongoose M80G
  2. This is not very efficient and there is a chance you will actually lose airflow by doing it due to the airflow being intefered by the second fan.
  3. If anyone is interested - you dont need the dereg document for cars coming in under SEVS until compliance time. You can get import approval without it.
  4. Don't need one. Don't waste your money. I used to have a Pivot super baby one i found for $50 on here. Try not to spend much if you have to get one.
  5. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Kiwi Line !
  6. im wondering how this works as each key has the computer chip embedded in it? This wont start a R34 GTR without sending the key to nissan will it?
  7. I told you the other night at Il Bolognase - must be a case of bad food amnesia - you probably forgot the whole night
  8. I agree with you actually. I mean the B/L is one of the most important documents and sending it so late is unfathomably frustrating. I've been there. I must say that I had to pay storage fees at the dock because of the same issue you are going through. The reason why im not jumping up and down fuming about it now is that the storage fees turn out to be one of the cheapest parts of the whole excercise ($20 + GST per day after the first 3 days which are free for me). Also, I have now taken delivery of the car, and the day you do that is the day all of the F'ing B.S red-tape that has lead up to it seems worth it somehow.
  9. Thanks SteveL for that post. It sums up exactly what happened to me as well. Keep in mind all that it is NOT Geoff's fault and the B/L has nothing to do with Geoff it is the supplier's responsibility. If you need to point the blame at someone, it is the supplier in Japan.
  10. I had an R33 and i found parts extremely easy to get while 34 parts are a bit harder to find. The R34 is a nicer car all round though. Especially for just driving around. I know my GTR interior wise shits all over my old 33's interior and im pretty sure the R34 GT-t isnt too far behind in terms of that.
  11. Mate i got to drive it today for about 500 meters (on a private road etc). I have been without boost far too long. Im in love with it.
  12. Everything is done for mine now - went to see it at the docks today and took this photo from a vantage point near the office. Cant get closer because the security wouldnt allow me but at least i can see my car is there: (its the black GTR behind the white skyline )
  13. Interesting that they said they tested a "GTR" but in fact the crash tests were on a car with chassis number ECR33-109721 - i.e. a GTSt
  14. There is a small controller device required so that they only go up a certain amount and stop when they have reached the top. Otherwise you could shorten the lifespan of the power window motors. This controller is actually a very simple logic device with about $5 worth of parts that people sell for 50-80 dollars retail. Plus labour if you dont fit it yourself. I believe Brandt fit it for about $125. This is another part of the reason i wont buy another brandt alarm.
  15. Heh yeah i think i need to go home and relax but this long weekend is going to be hard to get through.
  16. Yeah, im actually quite pissed off with the hole fiasco right now. I have been waiting for my B/L since September 11 and it finally was sent on Monday (after the ship had docked how f'ing useful) and it has arrived in Sydney according to the EMS tracking info but CGL have checked their PO box and nothing. So now because of this i am going to be liable for storage fees over the long weekend, another extra day for steam cleaning. I should send the moron who didnt send the B/L when it arrived the bill for the storage. Importing is about the most frustrating and painful experience you can ever go through.
  17. FYI, my B/L was not sent directly to me, it was sent to my customs agent - perhaps your B/L will to?
  18. You certainly can lodge customs clearance by yourself. You must attend the dock the day your car is unloaded to do it. Licensed agents can lodge the customs clearence before the ship docks.
  19. Where do you buy all these security gadgets?
  20. Ok im in. Did we confirm which place it's going to be yet? I only briefly read the posts above me because its almost 6pm and i wanna get outta here! :D
  21. It is not legal. Any reflective surfaces are against the law. Even certain metalic tints are illegal if they are deemed to reflective.
  22. ecu overboost protection. same as a lot of people on the forums. time for a ecu upgrade.
  23. Give Colin at CGL a call. He's a good bloke and they do good work and they charge well. Anyway they pay it all for you then give you an invoice. CGL's number is: 02 9316 5744
