  1. Its not the mandarin center carpark - it's further down Victoria Avenue. You keep driving down until you see a shopping center on your left called Chatswood Chase and then take a left at the lights down to the carpark. We meet close to the boom gates entry and you cant miss the Skylines that will be parked there.
  2. It's not a 34 motor. At least im pretty sure it isnt. Looks clean though, probably recent rebuild. About tramlining - I find tramlining has everything to do with the type/wear on the tyres and very little to do with the actual width of the tyre. I've tried a set of worn 245's before and they were basically undriveable on city roads and a set of new 255's which had no detectable tramlining at all.
  3. Paul - have you set the boost controller to 1bar and what does your MFD boost guage read (in mmHg) at 1bar?
  4. I'll have to try and get the GTR out of the vault then ... count me in if successful...
  5. I wouldn't be driving on the stock map. The PowerFC doesn't have any of the knock protection that the stock ECU has so if you experience detonation under load (quite likely with the stock PowerFC map) you wont have anything to fall back on except letting off the accelerator. By which time it may be too late and you may have damaged your engine. The FC's stock map works fine for some and very poorly for others (it pinged a lot on my old R33). In my opinion it is best to drive the car to a reputable tuner with the stock ECU installed, install the PowerFC, and tune. Better safe than sorry. Unless you know the ins and outs of the FC configuration and your car and are competent at street tuning then I guess go for it.
  6. The Trust PE2 sits close to the chassis. In fact it takes up far less room and hangs at about the same height as the Nissan stock exhaust system.
  7. I'm pretty sure $2500 worth of power tools were stolen werent they? ;D
  8. Geoff includes an estimate of compliance costs in that figure. An auto-manual conversion could be done but all up it could end up costing you the same as the manual in the first place unless you had the necessary skills to take the job on yourself.
  9. You're almost spot on about the vent clicking noise and you'll find many sympathetic R33 owners with the same issue. I believe the fix is cheap but painful to get to. Any dash work in any car is a pain though. The heater is a conventional heat core with engine coolant running through it. The previous owner may have had a leak in the heater core and done a heater core bypass. If he didnt tell you this that sucks, its a bit tricky to get at to repair but shouldnt cost too much for a second hand heater core. Many front cuts will come with them so your nearest import parts dealer will have a load sitting around. We'd be able to tell if you have had the heater core bypassed if you take a photo in the engine bay of the firewall - nearish the exhaust - two pipes should run into the firewall there.
  10. Well mines_datsun .. er i mean OC.. dont go wrapping your GTR around a bus stop!
  11. I second the Trust PE2. It's got a great sound when you give it some loud pedal but is very sedate around town. To top it off its pretty easy to get hold of. I bought mine from Advan as noted above and I'm certain they could ship you one to perth fairly cheaply.
  12. On top of that, Michael's cats are flanged and bolt on ready to go. To be fair this would add at least $50+ to the price of a magic cat if you couldn't flange and install that one yourself.
  13. Crap - im flying in that day but wont be there till its finished!
  14. So it's changed to November? If this is still happening I can make November
  15. Not really worth it since you can buy a 250gb HD retail for less than $230 and an external USB enclosure retails for $16... Oh and i'd rather buy from a PC hardware store where i could get a quick replacement instead of Aldi...
  16. Anyone who is a fan of collecting Nissan/Nismo/Skyline brochures might want to pickup this month's GTR magazine (Japanese one - available at your local Kinokuniya bookstore or newsagent if you're in Japan) It comes with a pullout copy of the Z-Tune brochure from Nismo which is pretty nice. That is all.
  17. SR is an abbreviation for ste·ra·di·an A unit of measure equal to the solid angle subtended at the center of a sphere by an area on the surface of the sphere that is equal to the radius squared: The total solid angle of a sphere is 4^pi steradians. duh
  18. Fair enough really. If it was decided last month than I shall stop rocking the boat.
  19. I dont understand why Japanese dinners aren't on the agenda more often. I think I've had Jap with SAU'ers once and that was not a regular monthly dinner. We all love Japanese right? That being said I propose to boycott steak (even though I already voted for LCSH) and say Merli's Makato suggestion is "the win". Or any other Japanese place anywhere (with parking)... I'd suggest Sushi Suma in Surry Hills if it had decent parking and wasnt 125% full every night.
  20. You can't seriously be defending this guy? HE HAS SWORDS FOR HEADLIGHTS! Yarrrrrrrrr?
