  1. 550cc is a good bet. Mine's GTR runs 600cc, i believe 740cc would be overkill for most. That being said I have 700cc for my GTR...
  2. It's fun to use for a while and good to have if there are problems to diagnose. The displays are quite cool, and the data logging is interesting. It's cheap so I got one, not much more to say really.
  3. That car wins the ugliest car with the ugliest name award.
  4. Yeah I have the lip off and all the visible bolts and clips out of the inner plastic guard but the thing wont come out. I'll try some more ideas next chance I get. Thanks for the help.
  5. Sooo.. im pulling the front bar off the GTR but am stuck on how to get at the last four bolts (2 on each side). The bolts are apparently in the wheel arch and connect the front bar to the front guards or body. I cant seem to remove the inner plastic wheel arch guard either as it appears to be bolted on at the same place. I have an excerpt from the workshop manual on how to do it but its useless. It just says "undo the bolts"! I cant even see them So I figure if I can get the inner plastic front guard out i can see the bolts but i cant seem to get that out.. Anyone done this before? Thanks
  6. Richard, why did you bid on the CR Kai's you crazy bastard. They are a cast rim.. I would stick with forged rims if I were you - those were cheap for a reason. CE28's are where its at in that style..... Oh and the 34 rims are expensive because they are a lightweight forged rim so yes you can get a Rays forged wheel for the same amount but its about the same from a performance point of view, its all about your preffered style and on the track the 34 rims make as much sense as any.
  7. It would be simple and very possible for Powerplay to get one here for a customer (for a price of course). You don't need to own a GTR to begin with as Nismo can source one for you. Nismo are very happy to work with international buyers and have done it before for R-Tunes etc. Not a problem.
  8. There is a good chance we will see one in Oz eventually although don't hold your breath it could take a while. There is only 2 Z-tune's built at the moment (press car and one customer car). They are built to order and there is a significant wait (3-5 months after you pay) until it is finished. I'm sure there's more on the wait list to be built though. I have seen one and I know SW20-GT has also as we saw it at the same place (different days). It looks and sounds better than I could have imagined by seeing the press photos...
  9. There is... Nankang and other chinese/korean brands...
  10. Skyline Model = BNR34 R34 GTR, BCNR33 R33 GTR Wheel diameter = 18 Wheel width = 9.5JJ Wheel offset = +12 Tyre size = 265 Modifications to fit = none Skyline Model = BNR34 R34 GTR Wheel diameter = 18 Wheel width = 10JJ Wheel offset = +20 Tyre size = 265+ Modifications to fit = none
  11. end yourself
  12. You can import a modded R32 that way, but she has to have owned it for 12 months before its eligible to come in. If she is going to be there for 12 more months and you can wait that long it's a good way to do it.
  13. CRD have a 4wd dyno right?
  14. You wont save money but you would have fun. You wont have access to any of the auctions (USS auctions in Chiba etc) as you need a license to attend the auctions. Also you wont be able to comply any non-standard R32 pretty much rule that out. About the only way it'd make sense is if your "cousin" was an australian citizen who has lived in Japan for more than 1 year. Then you might be able to work something out.
  15. Spotted a silver Stagea pulling out of Albert St carpark in Chatswood on Monday night. First one ive seen in Chatto.
  16. we're using the new cover sheets on all the tps reports now, did you get the memo?
  17. I think you'll find that Brembo pads for the V35 are going to cost a lot too. The good part is that you are more likely to have stock pads installed since it's a newer car. The owner of my GTR for example returned the car to the nissan dealer for each service. Hence it had stock everything including Brembo pads and the same make/model of tyre it came from the factory with (brand new tho).
  18. They check 100% of the time. This is one of the areas apparently they focus on because its very common for a car to be non-compliant with this item. If the car comes into the country with Brembo's with more than 50% pad material left they are fine. I've added a pic of the pads so you can see that the logo is fairly obvious, even when the pad is installed this is visible.
  19. As for Tokyo Bay SuperAutobacs. Take the JR Keiyo line to Shinkiba and change for the local Rinkai line. Take that train to Shinonome and get out on the side of the station facing the big freeway overpass thing. Walk towards the big freeway and go under it, on the other side you will see the signs for Tokyobay Superautobacs. The first thing you'll see in fact is the Tommy Kaira dealership. Nismo Omori factory is easy too. Get to Shinagawa station on the JR Yamanote line and change for the local Keikyu line. Take that to Omorikaigan station and get out on the main street side. Cross over the footbridge and head left. Walk for 5 minutes and thats it. You will see big Nismo building.
  20. You could make your way to Chiba and visit a couple of places in one day. Crystal, Top Secret, Up Garage and Carrest are all in Chiba, albeit quite spread out. You could also make it to Tokyo bay superautobacs and Omori Nismo factory if you had extra time. To get to Crystal take the train from Tokyo Station to Chiba station, hop on the Chiba urban monorail and get off at the Sports Center stop. Get out of the monorail station and head right off the escalator. Walk for 10 minutes until you see a footbridge, cross over to the other side of the road, from the bridge you can see McDonalds. Walk 2 minutes further and you will see Crystal. May or may not be interesting to you, they do have a decent selection of new GTR parts upstairs. To get to Top Secret, I believe it is on the same street as Crystal but its more like a cab ride. You could try getting on the bus that drives past Crystal (bus stop is close by, in the direction of the station). Never done this myself tho. Chiba Up Garage is trickier to find but pretty fun to browse thru. Take the train to Chiba station and then switch to the local line. Take the train again to Chiba Chuo station and get out and find a map. Walk to Shinjuku Park which isn't really much of a park its more like a gravelly walking park which extends south from Chiba Chuo station thru the suburban parts of Chiba. Walk along Shinjuku park until it hits a footbridge, if you walk up onto the footbridge and look to your right you will see Up Garage. Walk back down off the footbridge and head towards it. Carrest is pretty far out of Chiba as well but was quite a lot of fun for me. They have a JGTC GTR in the shop and the place is huge. You need to make your way from Tokyo to Shinnarashino on the JR Keiyo train line. You can probably also get there from Chiba check the map. Exit Shinnarashino station towards all the major shops and head to the parking lot exit traffic lights and turn left down the main road. Keep walking for a while, you will pass a parking garage on your left and go over a bridge, after walking for about 7 minutes you will finally see the big Carrest sign and parking lot.
