  3. I always like the water tank analogy. You got a big water tank full of water you punch a small hole in the bottom of it with a nail - how much water comes out ?? Not much. then you get a huge hole saw and put a 5 inch hole at the bottom - how much water comes out ?? Heaps The pressure in each circumstance was the same - 1 bar (Atmospheric pressure I think is 1 bar)
  4. Ha ha, I asked this question in another thread. Boost is just pressure. 1 bar = 1 bar you are right. But 1 bar from a huge turbo flows heaps more air than 1 bar with a small turbo.

  9. Anyone know if Microtech have a web site with product info and specs ?? I've done heaps of searching and I can't find it. I been looking at the Autronic web site and it's pretty good. You gotta wonder about an ECU if they don't publish a web site hey - (The EMS one is pretty ordinary too) Cheers,
  10. Yes yes - even better ! nice..... It's prolly just me, but I reckon if the car was moved over to the right a fraction , then the LHS tail light would be fully in the frame ??? I dunno how different it would look but I thought I'd throw that one out there????? What about the banner on the back of a white shirt and 'SKYLINES AUSTRALIA' on the front LHS above where the pocket would be if there was a pocket - if you get my drift ? I dunno - that might be ghey.
  11. Hmmm - I think I'll struggle to make 6:00pm - but can try. 1st movies starts at 7:30 right - so yeah, 6:30 would be the absolute latest. I've not been to the drive for like 20 years (last time was to watch Star Wars when it forst came out - that was tops) Do the movies start right on 7:30 sharp ??? WHat route do you suggest, in case people can try to catch up along the way ?? Carlo - BK TH is actually still there, physically, but it has closed down.

  15. Like Roys said - you will be hard pushed to find an R32 or R33 for sale with no engine... Prestige Motorsport has an N/A R32 auto 4 door for sale for approx $5700 - check out their web site - www.prestigemotorsport.com.au Your RB25DE plus a 5 speed (maybe $1500-$2000 fitted) would be quite tidy for way under 10K.   16. My pleasure Col ! Xeaon, Congratulations for choosing one of the best performing and value for money performance cars available. And welcome to SAU. I agree that Insurance for a turbo car for you at 17 will be difficult and expensive. You are very wise to look at a RB25DE powered car - I have driven an R33 GTS4 and they go pretty well for a N/A - Maybe consider one of these ? Alternatively if $$ are a major consideration, if you can find an R32 that needs a new motor, this would be an exellent conversion for your RB25DE - The R32s are lighter than the R33s so you will get better power to weight ratio than the RB25De in an R33. I myself have an R33 (with an engine, but it has lost compression in 2 cylinders) hence red200ss' suggestion that I answer your question - Unfortunately my car is not for sale as I am building it up with forged pistons, gapless rings, shot peened and linished rods, possibley RB30 block, replacing the EMS ECU for Autronic or Motec, lightened flywheel, electronic boost contol, Viscous coupling diff, and many more fun mods. You see, I have a score to settle with a certain SAU member - Regards B-Man (or Uncle Chop Chop to Dino .... you'll get yours) Your muma Dino !!!! You will never chop me again (when my car is working anyway)

  20. It starts spooling at 2200 and full boost at 3500 on the 2.5L - I'm thinking that it might run out of puff/efficency at like 6000-7000. I've been told that it is efficient up to 26 PSI - but I don't like the idea of running that much boost. (I will be doing forgies and the rest though)
  21. I have a Hi Flow GCG 500 HP turbo - How would this size go on with the RB30 block ?? Looking to run 18-20PSI

  24. Hey Guys, I'm thinking more seriously about the RB30 block for my immanent re-build. My concern tho is the height added by the RB30 block, as I read previously in this thread, the bonnet just closes. I have a custom plenum on my car, and we had to manufacture a bit of a hole in the sound proofing stuff on the underneath of the bonnet, so the plenum wouldn't rub. So if the RB30 block raises the whole height of the engine, I think I would have a bit of a problem ??? What do ya reckon ?? (The bit that rubs is the throttle body <-> plenum flange)
