  1. pretty sure it was only GerG (or something like that) who had one which he made himself
  2. what boost are you running according to your boost gauge? (when it works...)
  3. first test is to crank it over with the plugs out but injectors plugged in and watch the injector duty on the power fc. if its normal pull the rail out with the injectors still in and hooked up, let the fuel pump prime and check for leaks. also, long shot but check the vac line for the fuel reg for fuel
  4. standard rb20 = castrol gtx2. to change oil. get a pan, undo sump plug and dump the oil, whilst its draining undo the oil filter (if you dont have a gripping tool you can tighten a hose clamp around it then grip that with a rag), smear some oil onto the rubber seal of the new filter and screw it on, doing it up handtight. replace sump plug and fill with ~4.5L of oil, checking it reaches full on the dipstick (let it drain to the sump for 30 seconds before checking).
  5. your joking right? i've seen plenty of dickheads driving skylines whilst a passenger in bogan commodores. dickheads drive all sorts of different cars
  6. do the impossible, post a pic of a 100% stock turbo with a magnet sticking to the turbine wheel
  7. no standard turbos have steel turbine wheels or dual vane. they all have ceramic turbine wheels which are their weakest points. having said that they're fine at 12psi on rb25s so 13-14psi on a rb20 should be fine. with 1 bar (25 turbo) and a safc tune my old 20 made 250rwhp, which is about the limit of the standard injectors.
  8. so i shot off some emails to both gcg and deatschwerks and got the following info. from deatschwerks- Thank you for contacting us with your injector questions. Yes, these are 100% drop-in injectors like the OE injectors. The 550cc injectors are 4-hole and the 740/810cc injectors are a single hole. All sizes are high impedance like stock, and have a conical spray pattern like stock. ...and all sets are matched and balance to within 1-2% of each injector in the set, both statically and dynamically. and from gcg- The injectors (1000cc Side Feed RB25DET) come with O-Rings, and have a Single Cone ConicalType spray pattern. These are $842.15 Inc GST for the set, and they are about 5-7 days away. thoughts? seriously considering a set of the 1000cc, just not sure if the spray pattern is gonna be good enough?
  9. or just use a rwd sump, iirc all 4wd RB blocks have both 4wd and rwd sump bolt pattern and the adaptor is only needed for a rwd block into a 4wd car.
  10. if it has spark and fuel then check timing and make sure its getting the right amount of fuel
  11. i know him. what you want him for?
  12. all girls cruise, first meet will be packed with guys
  13. imo it starts becoming a serious restriction at around 280-300rwkw on pulp. no one can give an exact figure for every car as they're all going to be different.
  14. apart from oil drain as said (1 piece of hose needs to be made longer if it isnt long enough already) turbo lines bolt up exactly the same if you get a s2 block. $10-20 extra at most p/s bracket takes 2 mins of modifying with a grinder or depending on which pump your using you can use the 30 bracket, which bolts straight up. $2 cutting disc if you dont have one already in rwd applications you can redrill the engine mounts and drop it ~20mm, leaving the top of the motor only ~15mm higher than before, which wont cause any issues. $2 drillbit if you dont have one. hardly super expensive
  15. i've done that, made it impossible with the motor still in the car. luckily it snapped off far enough in to get a new stud infront of it and loctite it in.
  16. few little costs such as welding the head, hose and fittings to T the oil breather into the turbo return, couple of drill bits and lots of swearing to do the vct feed. random little shit but its all pretty cheap when your doing a build anyway. if your gonna do it try and get a 30e with lots of stuff still on it, a few little bits and pieces are needed, some are just handy and the rest can be sold off.
  17. 31 diff housing is a lot stronger than later model shortnose housings gonna look into using hicas lines soon, probs gonna need twin 044s for e85 or e42.5. anyone tried simply putting some welds onto the end of the hicas lines and then clamping a hose onto it? like with cooler pipes
  18. no. latency is the dead time, the time which an injector has power but isnt spraying any fuel. (the time it takes to open and then close again). different injectors have different latencys, so when changing injectors the tune needs to be adjusted not only for the bigger size but also the different latency, especially under light load around idle.
  19. stocker injectors are 370cc and .63ms latency top feed needs new rail and front facing plenum, not worth the hassle for a mild upgrade. the nismos, whilst expensive, are by far the best option
  20. fair enough but ideally you should be running a smaller gt30 with a larger (1.06) rear housing to get the same sort of power with better response and less stress on the engine (those .63 housings arent great for cylinder scavenging and temps). it'd also come on boost much smoother than the .63 gt35, making it much easier to control wheelspin.
  21. it doesnt work without an oil feed. the solenoid simply feeds oil into a section of the cam which causes it to advance 20 degrees, no oil feed means no vct
  22. f-cons are a great ecu but tuners for them (especially those that know what they're doing) are extremely rare here, hence why not many people use them and no one reccomends them. xspeed and particularly scali are very busy atm, could be part of the reason for the price. assuming you can sell the f-con you could take whatever they're worth off the price of converting to a pfc to make it more viable
  23. making one is the cheapest way. just get a bit or 3" or 4" pipe with a bend in it, a 3" joiner, a 4"-3" reducer (turbotech sells these) and a couple of fittings for pcv and BOV return. if you drill the right size holes and seal it up properly you dont even need to weld the bungs in (depending on the material of the intake pipe)
  24. try and get someone to grab a look at afm voltage with it doing and not doing it, see how much difference there is
  25. change the first column to 50% for all 6 (370/740 = .5 or 50%) the second column is latency correction. you need to find the latency value for the 740 and subtract it from the standard value (~.64ms) then enter the amount. for example nismo 555s are .81ms from memory. .81-.64 = .17, pfc only goes to the nearest .02 so enter +.18.
