Lambchop With A Renault Axis Here...

bugger,..... should not cost more than $125 to repair. -
Didn't spot either of the 2 stagea's in Germany but did spot plenty of BMW's & Audi's on the Autobahn.. got to love those Autobahn's... 196km/h in a 1.4lt compact.

He is a registered installer. Cheers Andy

1) You can access the reverse wiring at the top of the boot lip behind the plastic pannel in the middle of the roof. It pulls out quite easily. From memory it comes from the drivers side of the car so probably runs from the front of the car down the drivers side. 2) I think that you will find this hard to disable. 3) fit the sensors to the bumper. Good luck.

If your idle does not set between 650-750, the ECU will not learn the new setting. Another influence on setting the idle correctly can be the PCV valve. This has a hose running from the drivers side bank to the drivers side of the plenum. If you remove the hose from the Plenum and block off the inlet to the plenum you can try to reset the Idle to see if this has any influence. Good luck. Cheers andy

Mmmmmmm.... Sounds good for keeping track of son getting Licence in the next couple of years.

You are looking for the hose that runs across the front of the motor and comes from the intake pipe. If you followthis hose across from the drivers side to the passenger side you will find it comes to a T intersection. At this point you need to make the connections. The section running further towards the passenger side and downwards to the bottom of the motor is the hose running to the actuator on the turbo. You need to remove the T piece and plum your Boost controller in to the hoses at this point. If you follow the T section towards the firewall (this is the hose that you will not use anymore). You will see it goes to the Boost actuator. You need to LooP this actuator off. The 3 rd nippleon the actuator goes to the intake and this should be blocked off. Hope this helps. Cheers Andy

Where is your trans cooler hiding?
-
Hi Alex Sounds like you have done a lot of maintainence to that engine with new timing chain and pulleys. Has the motor done many Km? You are in summer now but if you have the trans coller fitted, perhaps it is taking longer for the transmission to warm up with the extra cooling. A lot of people here fitted a thermo switch in the trans cooler line so that at start up the transmission gets to operating temperature before diverting to the cooler. When you highflowed the turbo, did they change your wastegate actuator? Is it possible that it does not hold as much pressure as the factory actuator? It does sound like you drive your car fairly hard, these motors do use a lot of fuel when they are cold and also when pushed hard. They are far from an economical vehicle. It sounds like some of the high fuel usage is determine by your foot and perhaps the other is to do with the motor thinking it is cool and the ECU suppling more fuel. Good luck wioth the solution. Cheers Andy

No, don't know the cost. BUT either take up Scotts offer or get an aftermarker boost controller. Even with the wastgate actuator spring Mod the car felt stronger on initial boost when I used the Greddy Profec B boost controller. It bypasses the factory one so no more problem. Cheers Andy

I had a problem with the Boost Solonoid where instead of getting 13psi max boost I would get only 7psi. My problem had no CEL light and was solved each time by turning the car off and restarting. The cause always seemed to be giving it a few revs up a particular hill. I changed my Boost solonoid and the problem was solved. The Boost solonoid sits on the passenger side of the car under the plastic engine cover. It is bolted to the side of the plenum and has 2 small rubber hoses running out one side, 1 to the intake and 1 to the turbo actuator and one hose rinning to the front of the car that connects via a T piece to the boost sensor on the intake. I believe you can clean a solenoid but I did not try that. Cheers Andy

Yep, stayed till Monday lunch... was lots of fun.

Spotted 2 stagea's at Perisher this weekend. A Blue RX/RS with a great parking spot close to the bridge and Chris Benny also.

I thought all your accounts were empty Craig?

Docile... that was not problem when I did that mod. I found it good when on of off the throttle but when cruising on the Highway at 115kmh it tended to stutter and was very uncomfortable. Had to stop on the trip to remove the grub screw. Fortunatley it only takes 5 minutes to remove.

lol ... Iain You are a comedian. V35 series 2: Latest up date is that I really don't know how far away it is as a few deadlines have passed and don't want to promise someting that I can not deliver. V36: As I can not give a date for v35 s2 I am reluctant to put any dates out there for v36. Sorry I can not shed more positive information.

The M35 has an "AUTO" position for the lights that turns the lights on when the ambient light is low enough and light off when the ignition is turned off.

It sounds like you have been given all the information to beat them. They have outlined their procedure for marking and repairing damaged road and provided they are inside those guideines they are not liable. So with that information you just need to demonstrate that they have not met their guidelines and they are liable. It is interesting that in the consumer world if a product is sold that is not "fit for the purpose", the manufacture is held responsible. Sounds like the road builders have not built a road "fit for the purpose" if it is degrading in such a way. Good luck.

Nice work Dale.. If I had a stagea still I would be in for sure. Would it fit my van? ...... lol
