Maybe so and I agree. But you will NEVER have to touch the fuel system again. Thats what the tuner wanted, that's what he got.

It seems so long as you run the correct line size, it will work without issue. Intune (I am in the process) has just installed the 1200 version using two 460's (with the option of 3 if needed). It's quiet and did the job without fuss. -10 lines were run everywhere. AI suggest a minimum of -8 overflow to not pressurise the surge tank. That will require modification to the fuel hat.

Nismo GT vs. GT PRO + Run in time
Piggaz replied to sweefu's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
To calm the Nismo rear end down, try some OS GIKEN 80W-250 diff oil. Terry at Award diff and gearboxes recommends this. I'm currently running it in my GT Pro rear and Quaife front. Definitely shut that GT Pro up by a good 85%. -

That's all good. But have to be very clear about it all. :). -
I used Unigroup and they had the fabricator across the road make it.

This has been answered many times in this thread. Maybe not specifically to 7 psi, but the whole transient response question has. R32 TT posted a few pages back that between the -5's and the 8374, the 8374 came back into its stride almost in 1/3rd the time of the -5's that came off his engine. So, -5's off, 8374 on. Retune. That's data off his own Motec. Everyone that puts on of these EFR's on the car says the same thing. Transient response is mental. Can everyone be wrong? Here we go again. Round and round the merry go round we go. There will never be enough data/first hand experience to convince a skeptic never interested in the product in the first place. 20 pages of GT series low mount's dribble in an EFR thread. Really? -
Surge tank wasn't made by Brad, mate.

Piglet's Rebuild Of His Busted Tomei 2.8
Piggaz replied to Piggaz's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Marcus! if you have time, flick me a call when you're free and I'll give as much info as I can. I don't know specific costs yet but I'll get a bill at the end I'm sure. By no means is this thing going to be a track pig only car. Drive it to work on Saturdays, go down the coast for lunch. That sort of stuff. fizzing at the bung to get it going. So close now -
Hi guys, I Have for sale a set of Garrett 2860-5 turbo's.They have traveled approx 10,000 kms. These WERE in working condition when I originally sold them in March. The buyer sent these back to me a couple months ago after what I believe his mechanic stripped an oil feed thread and making one of the cores unusable. Due the the sale being done via PayPal, the buyer has up to 180 days to come back and demand a refund. I had to refund the money and received back a set of damaged snails in the process! I have had GCG inspect the thread and they have said that you could try and use a screw in fitting which would require the installation of braided lines. Personally, I wouldn't go down that path. However, if you wish to try and they do leak oil that is all on you! What these turbo's could be used for is to put GTX wheels into the housings as many guys use -5 housings for this reason. Another option is to re-core the turbo that has been damaged and you will have a cheap pair of -5's, one core brand new, one core doing approx 10,000 kms. - Very little shaft play. - The turbine housing's has been ported to match the manifold to turbine housing gasket. - The turbine housing's has been cermaic coated. - The actuator arm has been modified to increase leverage against the wastegate flap. The actuators are currently set at 19-20 psi from memory. I have had the actuataors set upto 24 psi. This work was carried out by RacePace Motorsport in Melbourne. - There are two missing studs on one turbine housings.. - Turbo's are Located in Georges Hall, NSW. - Buyer will pay for postage if required. - NO PAYPAL!!! - Turbo's have been priced in accordance to their condition and the extra bits mentioned above which are worth a small fortune in themselves. Unfortunately this is not my fault but I have been left holding the baby. - I take no responsibility for a faulty installation. - Please understand that one of the oil feed threads is stripped. I cannot stress this enough! - When received, can you please confirm that these are the items listed within 7 days. This is a condition of sale! I am not interested in hearing back from you in 6 months time with a Walt Disney fairy tale! Price is $600 ONO. Contact me through PM. TURBO 1 Thread 1 Thread 2 Thread 3 Turbo ID tag Ported turbine housing. Modified actuator TURBO 2. This is the damaged turbo. Thread 1 Thread 2. Thread 3. This is the damaged thead. Ported turbine housing Modified actuator arm Turbo ID tag Cheers, Paul.

Opened up my filters two weeks ago after sitting around from November with E85 in the tank. These fuel filters were cleaned in July/August last year. This is what came out. Was pretty yuck. Whole fuel system went in the bin!

You want to run a 71 mm GTX front fan and have it squeezing out a 28 series peanut ass end with a small wheel? Keep adding compressor, it's the answer to everything! Whatever happened to air in AND out? Talk about a mismatch. Maybe just run GTX 2876's. Compressor map says yes, right?

There was a decent comparison between a 6266 and 8374 on a 3.4 L 2JZ. Compared both turbos on a Full Race manifold and a HKS manifold. Pete is looking at going at going from the 6266 to the 8374 on his 3.2/ V cam setup. The tuner involved after quite a lengthy discussionis confident that not only the 8374 would out preform the 6266 quite significantlywith low end grunt, but has made mention that a 9180 wouldn't give away anything to the 6266 low end but would give more top end. The aim is low end twist sub 5-6 K so it looks like the 8374 will get the nod. Work isn't done yet so don't have any logs. -

The car in the above video went between your precious -5's to a 8374 on a 3.0. With logs off the Motec it was reaching target boost 5-700 RPM earlier (which is consistent with other people that have gone between them), fell back onto boost between gear changes in 1/3rd the time of the -5's and made more power everywhere. I suppose Matty is too busy winning tarmac rally events to worry about posting up logs online "proving" the setup to the internets. -

It's all good to show logs to compare between different cars and engines but how do you account for the possibility of - Different capacity - Different fuel - Different gear ratio's/gearsets - Different compression ratio - Different tyre size - Different cam timing and on and on. Wouldn't it be better to compare between the two different setup's on the same engine, that way most if not all of those potential variables are eliminated? How can you draw a comparison between a 2.8/-5's and a 3.0/8374 for example? But a comparison on the same car that has gone -5's to the 8374 (which in this case are the two setups in question) is almost disregarded? Not everyone cruises around with a laptop in their car either.
