Os88 Vs Hollinger Decision!
Piggaz replied to Buraz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
88's are made in Japan. Helical cut gears, so quiet while driving (No louder then standard really). Dog gear engagement - 6 speed sequential. -
Os88 Vs Hollinger Decision!
Piggaz replied to Buraz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
For those interested in an OS88, here is the oiling issue that needs to be rectified before you put it in the car. The little slot where the light is coming through is the breather for the box. There is no cover for it and the gear acts like a paddle wheel and pumps oil up the hole and through the hose. So a cover will be made to stop this. The oil breather fitting also needs to be drilled and tapped. My fitting popped out once it got in the car. OS must use clag glue to secure the fitting... it doesn't last. I am also changing the sensor that lives in the bell housing. -

RB26 -7 upgrade suggestions for optimum performance
Piggaz replied to RB335's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Eh, ditch it all restrictive shit and put a single on it ?. But people buy R34 dumps for a reason. No one "upgrades" to R32 or R 33 dumps. R34 dumps are the biggest and get sold for cheap. They're bigger then anything else stock. Do some measurements and come back. It's the "cheap upgrade". -
RB26 -7 upgrade suggestions for optimum performance

Not sure if serious... or taking the piss :/. -
380 would be getting up there with the 7670. 8374 I would say.

An external gate not designed to take heat? It's bolted to an exhaust manifold and has exhaust gas running through it! It's gonna make sweet FA difference if you have two next to each other. If you're that worried, run the Tial MVS gates and run water through them.
-
Why is the bottom gate position so terrible? Plenty is 6 boob manifolds getting around like that. I don't think there is an "easy and cheap" way out of this. It's a prick of a job, to do it right and neat takes time. Cough up.

Intune (Nick) has. Car is running. No issues. I too have bought the Godzilla kit. Car is yet to run.

This is a bit of an interesting one. Over the years I've heard some pretty wild claims with using two gates vs one gate on a twin scroll single turbo setup. 200 RPM, 400 RPM, 500 RPM even 800 RPM. Has there been anyone that's done some sort of back to back with it? If there was no gain AT ALL why do people use twin gates in the first place? It would certainly save a lot of money in hardware and fab work that's for sure!

Yes. By a significant amount too.

A bloke in the UK did that exact setup. From memory it went 575 HP. Can't remember fuel or boost as it was a while ago. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/400338-r32-gtr-old-school-fun.html Dan, link to build thread. It was the 0.92 IWG setup, sorry.

This whole ugly turbo thing. Seriously guys, man up. You won't be worried about an "ugly" turbo when you're driving the thing. End rant. What Dan said. 7670/1.05 would be an amazing setup on a RB26. To draw a comparison, Benny from Benchmark tuning has put a fair few 7670's on EVO's. He says th basically drive like the factory EVO snail... but go onto make north of 400 Kw wound up. It would make the typical "-7/-9 2.6 build" look rather silly.
